Weigh all your food, it's amazing what a difference it can make.

RECORD EVERYTHING! Even if I don't make good food choices every time, I track it. Sometimes it's enlightening and I learn more about balance and nutrition. If I'm recording, I'm conscious about what I'm eating and held accountable.

A few biscuits and a bag of crisps will not undo all your good work. However, feeling that you have "ruined everything" by eating them, and then guilt-scoffing the rest of the biscuits and the other 5 bags of crisps in the multipack, WILL undo all your good work.

Don't be afraid to try new things ie. a new recipe, new type of workout... along with this, give new things a couple of chances before throwing in the towel and looking for something better. That new, healthy recipe may just need a few tweaks for your taste, the workout may not seem as tough the 2nd time around- once you know what to expect out if it.

Mine would be to not put off today for tomorrow while not getting hung up on yesterday. For me at least, weight loss is very psychological. I understand HOW to lose eight, that is easy. Getting my MIND to listen is something else :)

It took you a long time to gain the weight and it will take some time to lose it, so don't be discouraged.

Don't consider it a diet. Realize you are changing your lifestyle to be healthy.
  • There are twelve pages of "one" things. My head hurts.

Besides losing weight, think about what you'll gain...(confidence...etc)

Weight loss and maintenance is a lifestyle, not a diet. A diet is short term.
  • Accept absolute, complete responsibility for everything you do in your life. ...No one can "make" us eat in an unhealthy way, do drugs, be angry, drink excessively, or anything eles.

We have the power.... if we are honest with ourselves.

Everybody has bad days and feels like giving up, but if you start everyday over with a clean slate you will reach your goal!

Don't over estimate your exercise calories or under estimate your intake calories. Do the exact opposite.
