I am 40 and it takes me months to lose any amount of weight. So I rarely weigh myself. (I don't want to get discouraged) I work out 6 days a week (Turbo Fire, Insanity and walking). I eat clean 6 days a week and have 1 cheat day a week. ( I recentley started allowing myself a cheat day). I am very dedicated in my health and fitness goals and I never miss a workout. I am giving myself 1 year to lose approx. 40lbs.... I wish you all luck on reaching and maintaning your health and fitness goals...0 -

I am 51 and let me tell you - it does not come off like it use to when I was younger. In my teens, 20s I was 100 pounds even. After kids I settled in at 117. Now at 51 I am in the 130's. 100 is too light now, but I look awesome at 120 so that's my goal!0 -

When I went off to college 7.5 (holy crap!) years ago, I was 18 and weighed 118, so I decided my goal is 120 based off of that. I'm not so naive to think that I necessarily SHOULD be that size, so when I start getting into the 120/30s, I'll re-evaluate. I was teeny tiny at 18, but not toned - I'd prefer to be toned, so if that means weighing more, great!0 -
I'm 5'3" as well! 28 F with a starting weight of 270 lbs./current weight of 244 lbs. My goal weight right now is 150 lbs, but ultimately I would love to be somewhere between 130 lbs-150 lbs.
I come from a family of tall and skinny AZ Amazons! Would love some new MFP friends for motivation and support. Friend me! : )

I have about 10-15 lbs of loose skin(according to a plastic surgeon) that I will have to have removed. I had a lap band placed in 2003 and dropped down to a "fat" 140 with lots of flab and loose skin. My band slipped in 2007 and I had to have it replaced. I gained almost 100 lbs back after the slip, the loss of a child and a divorce.
Now am working smart, counting calories, watching my nutrient intake and working with a personal trainer so that I can be a toned and tight 140 before skin surgury, then we'll see where I go from there!!!!0 -

Even when I was down to 145 I was still a size 11! Argh!

I want to be a size 8 at least eventually so if I am not that at 135 then I might lose more. When I was 145 though I do not think I looked fat, but I didn't look skinny either so I would still probably look fantastic at 135. I know from previous weight loss efforts that I plateau at 145, I still don't understand why I didn't push myself to lose that last 10-15 lbs back then... I was soo soo close to the 130s! ~ Ahwell, hopefully I will make it this time but I have further to go this time around.0 -

I was able to loose 50 pds on my own, but then I hit a plateau that I couldn't shake. Then I gained 10 pds and really got worried, so I started MFP. Wow, easiest thing I have done. I don't deny myself anything, but eat as healthy as I can first. Then if I gotta cheat, then I just fit it into my calorie count. The first 50 pds went off slowly, and I like that because you tend to keep it off easier. I was lazy gaining the 10 pds and it didn't happen overnight. So I'm trying to make this weight loss as slow as possible and never let myself get hungry. Because if I do, then I want to grab the unhealthy stuff.0 -
