To those who would like this to be a group... I haven't been interested in doing that because, the groups I'm a part of, there is less participation than on this thread. So far, I just haven't been very impressed with them.

Also, I'm not sure that I'm going to host another challenge. I don't have enough weight left to lose to do it along with the group but I have seen other hosts do challenges that aren't losing either (pregnant, etc.). We'll see... I do understand how you feel about the challenge. Having these long term ones is what really helped me stay accountable and on track.

Pam3 - Good luck with your move this week! Yay for getting back to exercise!

SallyCC - Yay for being in a lower pant size!

Vacationista - Woo hoo to being at "a new low point"! Also, nice that your husband was so insightful.

Shirley61 - I hope your back feels better soon! Yay to being back to pre-vacation weight!

Roni_M - Good luck with your psa. :-(

    RaindropWishes - Welcome to ONEderland!!

mrsgstone - Yay for limiting your sodium intake!

nekosimba - Congrats on the new job and move!

Redbird99 - Your patience will get you exactly where you wish to go. Good luck!

sew1222 - Yay for inches lost!

EKSB - Woo hoo for being solidly in the 140's and for the biking!

Bluiz13 - Good luck! I KNOW you can do it!

staceyb2003 - Since you posted so close to the time I did, I included you anyway. :-)

Congrats to Ncytiz, julidav, RaindropWishes, Shirley61, aerdna88, Sailingsal, Roni_M, and rosiebug for being the biggest losers for this week!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to RaindropWishes for losing the most pounds and percentage overall!

Would a couple of you from our winners list please give us mini challenges this week? Thanks!

P.S. If you see spelling and/or grammatical errors in this post, I'm stupid today.

Here's a mini challenge for the week:

I'm a very picky eater and have been trying to incorporate new and different healthy foods into my eating plan. There is such a huge variety of food that I've never tasted and been afraid to try. So my challenge is to incorporate at least one new healthy food (or several!) into your meals this week. Check out the recipe board and look for something that is new to you and give it a try. Get creative!

If you find something really good, come back and share it with the rest of us.

    Have a fun week

In response to the challenge this week I went and bought some fish that I have not tried. (I am not very big on seafood at all) I have made it three different ways. I have not been impressed so far. I am going to try a different recipe and see how that goes.

For the challenge this week, I bought a half-gallon of Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk. I eat dry cereal for breakfast almost every day, so I thought I would try it. I probably won't buy it again for this purpose. Even though it tastes good, it seems very thin and insubstantial. Maybe by the time I go through the whole half-gallon, my opinion will change. It is WAY less calories!

    Off to exercise class!

I'm dairy free. Try oat milk (oatly) is much thicker (appears creamier) than both rice and almond milk and tastes ok.

Yay! Even if it doesn't work out, we're trying new things so we have more of a chance to find healthy foods that we like. I started eating raw spinach lately in place of lettuce and I was pleasantly surprised. Last night I tried to steam it and I didn't like it at all. I guess that doesn't really matter, I'll just keep eating it raw and get the nutrients that way. I'm planning to try some greek yogurt and quinoa as my next experiments!

Hi Everyone! Well, I had a gain this week. I seem to be in a pattern of lose weight M-F, then gain it back Sat & Sun.. Rather frustrating!

So, it's Thursday and as of today I am down from my Monday Weigh in of 200.2 to 198.2. My goal over the next 3.5 days is to maintain or keep losing before the weigh in Monday!

Kristen - I hope you are feeling better

New foods... I'm not sure if I've tried anything new yet this week. I'll have to try to fit that in over the weekend.

One thing I have been good about is not eating ANYTHING after dinner. I think that will help if I stick to it.

Thinking of you all even when crazy Mommy & Wife land have me unable to post much (my hubby gets jealous of the computer if I spend too much time on it)

    Many hugs,
    Amy

Thank you for the "feel better" wishes. I have felt terrible all week. But, despite that, on Wednesday I took some Motrin and went out on a fantastic date with my 16 year old son! :-)

Woo hoo to those of you who tried different foods this week!

AmyByExample & annehdavis - Good luck with breaking your patterns this weekend! You both CAN DO IT!

    Have a great weekend!
  • Hi Everyone!

Hope you've all had a good week so far. Nothing exciting to report from here but thought I'd check in with everyone. Sorry for the lack of personals - they're very hard for me to do when I'm on my phone.

One more pound. Right on track for my Easter goal. This challenge has been helping me stay on that track. 10 pounds since New Years. I'm good with that! In my former life I would have just been accepting the 5-10 pounds gained over the holidays.

I made some no bake protein bars today and I used coconut flakes in them that is a far stretch for me because I don't like the way coconut feels in my mouth never liked coconut pies or cakes etc. I do cook with coconut oil so that is me following this week challenge!!

Well, unfortunately I have to report a gain this week. My brother was in town and although I tried to watch my eating, I had some alcohol and pretty much no exercise. Just being lazy, really no excuse. This week I'm going to start adding the "Junk Mail Challenge" to my regular workouts. For every piece of junk mail you get in the mailbox (you could do email if you're feeling adventurous...), you must walk up and down one flight of stairs. It adds up quickly, trust me! 4 weeks left and 5 lbs... I can do this! I hope to beat my goal and I know I can if I just stay focused! Good luck to everyone this week, hope you all had losses!
