girl's confident in her body == slutty?

I find it interesting that only one person seems to have a different opinion and she is being ganged up on for it. I believe that the OP was asking for an opinion and when one person came along that didn't agree with the majority she must be wrong and picked on.
Personally I don't need to see all of everyone. If I wanted to see all of that there are plenty of porn sites out there that I could visit. Do I think that revealing pictures make someone slutty? No but I think there is a misconception that a person is slutty if they post provocative pictures. To play devil's advocate here, the internet is a very public place. I hire people as part of my job and I never hire anyone without doing a search on the internet for them. It is amazing what a potential employer can see just by typing a name in Google. So for myself, I don't post anything online or photos of myself online that I would be ashamed if my employer saw.
Exactly.
& I completly agree.
Majority of hired employees have had an internet search done on them.0 -
Being revealing doesn't always equal confidence. You have some women who have to be revealing because they have no substance, confidence or self esteem and that is the only way they can get noticed. Of course there are people who are confident so they don't mind wearing revealing clothing, basically its just not a good way to measure someone's confidence. Confidence is an attitude and not how you dress.
Agree0 -
It's not about confidence it's about modesty. I try to dress the way I'd want other women to dress around my husband. So, I have not seen your pictures, but I probably wouldn't agree with them. NOT saying I'm not happy for you or proud of your beautiful assets, I just believe there is a time and a place for everything. But then again I'm a pretty conservative girl, so..0

But the point still stands: why does that matter to YOU? No one is asking you to put up pics that you don't find comfortable for you.0 -

so because she has the opinion opposite of you, your reply contains a sarcastic and even quite possibly an insulting undertone? i dont think thats fair. if she chooses to have that opinion, we should choose to respect it, that is, if respect is what your asking for when referencing to "slutty" photos.

actuallly thats not at all what i said.
& if you cant respect other ppls opinions you shouldnt ask for them or even be in the forums at all.
Plain and simple0 -

heh - and no, no spread legs poses. hhhahahhah.0 -
If you've never been called a slut online or offline, you're doing it wrong.
I guess I must be doing things right then...0 -

It is my opinion. Nothing more and nothing less. That is what was asked in this post.0 -
Just would like to state that this is supposed to be a site for adults 18+ (had to word that right) I'm sure there are some under age people on here but there parents should be watching them. If they are on this site or any other site if they are under age they shouldn't be posting their pics online period that might just be my over protective side showing when it comes to the little ones in my family.0

Your body is meant for you and the person you want to share it with.
Not the internet.
What if the person I want to share it with IS the internet??
To bad the internet is NOT a person.
Oh, aren't you a peach!
so because she has the opinion opposite of you, your reply contains a sarcastic and even quite possibly an insulting undertone? i dont think thats fair. if she chooses to have that opinion, we should choose to respect it, that is, if respect is what your asking for when referencing to "slutty" photos.
that being said, i agree that confidence and sluttiness are two very different things. however when you post pictures, whatever they may be, it no longer is your business but becomes the business of everyone else who views it.
however, when i reach my goal, i plan to rock it where appropriate. which means i wont be wearing anything in any photos that i wouldnt wear outside. a chick in her workout gear or bathing suit = not slutty. a chick lying in a sexual position on a bed with a "bathing suit" that has barely enough pieces on it to cover her nipples or vag = slutty.
The awkward moment when someone tries to discredit something because it contains a fallacy by using a fallacy...

no awkward moment, it was very clear.0 -
Personally I think this site is about fitness and the body so if you've got something you are proud of then what's wrong with having photos, I mean bikini, underwear shots are fine, I really thought this site was a place to be supported and not really judged in that way.
There is only one thing that makes someone slutty and that has nothing to do with what they are wearing.0 -

I posted a light, jovial response: "what if the person I want to share with IS the internet" and either the poster didn't get the joke, or she has a stick in her *kitten* about it... I don't care what she thinks about nudity or sluts, but her lack of a sense of humor is disappointing.
Maybe if it was funny I woulda took it as a joke. It was a sarcastic comment that i didnt find humerous.0 -
A woman who is confident in herself whether it be in her abilities, her body, or whatever, knows what is appropriate. Alot of women (and men) show way more than they ought to, but that is my personal opinion. A person can look very attractive and stylish while still exercising modesty. I think it shows more of a measure of self respect when very fit people don't feel the need to flaunt what they got. I actually feel sorry for those who do go out in public like that; they are just looking for attention and unfortunately the attention they get is more often not respectful or positive. People in general form opinions based on appearance so if you present yourself as loose, you'll get treated that way and called bad names.0

I suppose it depends on your intentions as well. Confidence has nothing to do with being slutty or anything else of that nature. You don't have to be a size 2 be confident, nor do you have to dress a certain way or show skin to show confidence. Some people prefer to be a bit more conservative for moral reasons- which is great. Did you hear about that Victoria Secret model who QUIT because (so she says) "her body is just for her husband" If that's true than much admiration for her.
You have to ask yourself this also, does showing your bare body make you feel good because other people are admiring it or because YOU admire it? There "is" a difference. That saying, if you got it flaunt it... It's catchy but not classy. In society, if you want people to take you seriously you have to look the part also- Even if it has no real bearing on your personality. Tiz the world we live in.
I'll will admit, in my single days- I was a bit more "risque" if you will. And not to sound old school but unfortunately what kind of attention are you "really" bringing to yourself? Some good and a lot bad. Just be careful hun... as strong and confident as you may be, there will always be a stronger [man] that can take advantage of you. (Sorry I guess this is the MOM in me) I worry about pretty girls out there in the general population of not so great men.0 -

I'm simply curious as to why you think it's okay to tell others that they're "too slutty" on the internet when it's none of your business.
I guess you can't answer my question eh?0 -
So, to sum it up: If you ask for opinions if you are slutty because some of your pictures have been reported and don't get the answers you want, you're berated.

<---- Case in point. I am extremely confident but I am always covered and I love it!! Being Confident has nothing to do with how you dress, rather it is how you present yourself! Some people choose to show off their hard work and good for them, in the end people need to learn to respect!0 -

actually the majority of companies do an online search of peoples personal lives.
It tells a lot about a person.0 -

This forum was not started by you.
& I never said people were to slutty for the internet.
I simply stated my opinion that not everything needs to be shared on the internet and everybody else twisted it to whatever they wanted it to be.0 -

I hire for positions that are a face of our company. Yes I care if people will be able to Google my employees and see questionable behavior and photos. It can also cause trust issues between clients and employees.0 -

I think I would use the word attention seeker before I used the word slutty.
But that's just me. I suppose I have a different understanding of the word 'slut'.0 -
if you've got it and are proud of it, go for it! It's not slutty, in my opinion....0
