    1.) Polar Ft7
2.) Stability control running shoes- a must for these knees! I don't run but I walk a lot in the city and of course work out!
3.) Workout videos- Collagevideo.com is awesomeness (I hate people seeing me sweat because I am fountain of fury.)

A good pair of running shoes is worth every penny (if you're into running)

A YMCA membership is available in your area, more bang for the buck than a private gym (in my opinion)

Anything to track distance, time, calories, whatever you want to track will be worth it's weight in gold.. Garmin, Nike+, fitbit whatever you prefer.

1.Time- especially that spent with MFP -my husband thinks I am obsessed but my weight loss is proof it works! Also making time for exercise.
2.Fitbit - it motivates me through the day and encourages me to exercise more if I want to eat more!
    3. Polar hrm -I am thyrotoxic so have to monitor my HR -It still gets up to 150-170 but a year ago I could not exercise for 5 mins before it was at 186! - I am 53 it should be less than 150 when I exercise.

    For me:

Shoes. Everything starts with great shoes that support your foot and don't cause pain in your joints.

Gym membership. I won't run outside. I won't use the treadmill. I will go to the gym every day, because they have a ton of great equipment, friendly people, and if I pay for something, I will use it.

My ipod. I listen to tunes when doing weights, etc. and I d/l TV shows and play them on the TV screens on my treadmill when doing cardio. Could not get through a workout without it. Need the distraction, or it just doesn't happen.

3 - My yoga studio package Sure, I can practice at home, but going to classes really pushes me in new directions.
