Pearl jam opened by Ben Harper in Adelaide, outdoor at memorial drive, in the summer, with the sun setting behind the stage...... 2 awesome artists, and nothing beats an outdoor gig, in the summer, plenty of drinks, a couple of spliffs.

Aerosmith with GnR opening, right at the time GnR was breaking big...during Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Axl got into a fight with a fan, the band played the song, Axl came back and the finished it like nothing happened.

Also, Aerosmith happened to play alot of Rocks stuff that night, so very rare
That would have been an awesome show. GnR when they still had to work for it, and Aerosmith before they went completely soft.
I just saw them (aerosmith) last year ( my favorite band) and it was not very good:( They have so many good rock songs and all they sang was soft ballads that were not even popular:((((( Talk about being bummed!
I did however see ZZ Top last year also and they may be old, but man can they still rock!

Grateful Dead at an airfield in Highgate Vermont (1993?94?)
    U2 with Garbage opening (2002?)
    Lollapalooza '92
Stevie Ray Vaughn with Jeff Beck and Jeff Healy (1989)
    Neil Young
The Tragically Hip at Phil's Grandson's Place (capacity like 100 ppl!) in 1988!

Oh soooo many good shows when I was young and wild and free....

I don't know if anyone will know any of the bands I have seen and LOVED!!!
These are the concerts I have seen and loved. Oh by the way all in small venues.
    1) VNV Nation ( Got up close and personal with the guys after the concert got to love it!)
    2) Apoptygma Berzerk (I was speechless after this concert. I screamed so much I lost my voice for two days!) :blushing:
    3) Assemblage 23 (We were so close Tom Shear almost stepped on my hand!)

And we're going to Germany and Holland this summer for three music festivals so I guess I'll be losing my voice again but this time maybe for a month.

I have tickets for Florence and the Machine and St. Vincent for this and next month.

Def Leppard back in 2000 at the Big E in Western Mass. It was open seating so we got there right when the gates opened at 8AM. We waited all day long in our second row seats. The show was awesome.

Tesla live was amazing. Saw them in Portland, ME about 8 years ago. Such a good show.

I saw Extreme back when they were called The Dream at the Opheum Theatre in Boston back in 1986. They opened up for Night Ranger. Soooo good.

I saw U2 for the first time in 1987 at Foxboro Stadium and it was life altering.

Saw Bon Jovi when they opened up for Ratt back in 1985. She's a Little Runaway album was fabulous live.

    So many good concerts.......

Pink Floyd, Soldier Field, Chicago, July 1994. Rained during the laser show. Raindrops added to the atmosphere.
  • So these are on total opposite ends of the spectrum and I'm not embarrassed to say the second one, but Aerosmith is one, and the other is NKOTB. (That is New Kids on the Block. Three times actually. Once when I was like 13 first concert ever, and two more times when they reunited a couple years ago as NKOTB which was a great awesome and very entertaining show! .....sidenote, I have not yet seen them as NKOTBSB when they reunited with Backstreet Boys and not sure if I want to or will.) So that's it... laugh it up... ha ha... I'm not embarrassed. I Love my NKOTB. :-)
  • Doesn't look like we have many Grateful Dead fans here-- I've only seen them mentioned once so far. Well, I loved them and went to 119 shows before Jerry died.

My absolute favorite would have to be 10/9/89 at the Hampton Coliseum. It was the kind of show that melted your face off, lol. People were crying and everything. It was AMAZING!

I also saw U2 at Radio City Music Hall in December of 1984. My dad had gotten me 6th row seats for my 16th birthday-- Bono was so close I thought I could reach out and touch him. At times it was a little overwhelming because there was such a crush of people trying to get to the front. Still, awesome venue for an awesome band!

It was more about the venue than the concert itself...

Gorge amphitheater fyeah. I saw Soundgarden there last summer but really I'd be happy watching just about anyone there (Queens of the stone age was also there and awesome)

    What an awesome shot!
