  • I like reading all the success stories, especially when my motivation is low. So even though I'm not a man I appreciate all the posts. Ya'll are kicking some serious butt.

    Short and wide here 5'6".
Years ago I was about 320 pounds. I have been hovering around 265 before deciding to do something.

I am working towards running a 5K and getting my cardiovascular system in shape. It would be pretty neat to eventually do a marathon.
I will go towards strength training later on. that was something I did years ago.

I noticed some of us live in central Oklahoma.
    Watch out for the weather.

You're all pretty sexy, btw. I'm not a man, but I have serious poundage to deal with, and I like trying to motivate and being motivated.

Right?! I thought this was a thread about liking larger men. Damnit. Plenty of eye candy here though :drinker:

    Hello...
  • it's true though. We post something about our weight loss successes or anything and we're lucky to get 10 posts on it, but you see a woman drop 3lbs and it's 40 threads of praise.

  • im 5' 11" and started at 348 pounds back in January. the biggest ive been in my life. i have been doing P90X for the past 2 months and am starting month 3 tomorrow. i have lost a total of 65 pounds since day 1 and i feel awesome. i never thought i could lose that much so fast but visual results to me are very hard to see. others say i look good and keep saying i look great just wishin i could see it. im trying to lose 100 pounds and will probably surpass that in the coming weeks or months which will be very exciting. just wish i could get back into football and being active that way

6'3" started out around 260 lbs (started loosing before using MFP). I try to eat cleaner and leaner and play basketball as much as I can as well as some weight training and mix in some other cardio. I am at 226 lbs at last weigh in and looking to drop at least another 16 lbs.
  • This is the best thread I've come across on here. I'm not very tall at 5'7", but I hope to lose around 28 pounds so I can finally weigh a healthy 155 pounds. So, please add me for motivation and support. We have to stick together guys.

Whoa man, I am 5'7" and I am trying to get down to 155 pounds too!

I don't think it's that there aren't as many men using this site...it's just that women are more chatty in the forums. The men keep out of all the drama.

6'2" started at approx. 335, currently approx. 265, trying to get to 225. I need to get my butt back on it and knock this last 40 pounds out.

I wish I had some local folks who actually worked out the way I do, it would make this a whole lot easier.

I think you are only limited by your mind set, men and women can both motivate each other. Im thankful for some of the men friends I have since they look at things differently sometimes and that can help to keep me focused.. I do understand it can be more women than men tho.. I see LOTS of men posting so maybe you just arent looking in the right locations?

the weight loss has slowed down a bit but I am in no rush. I don't have a set goal weight on the scale I am shooting for. I am going by how I look and feel. Probably somewhere in the 200-220 lbs. range.

Golly..you are quite the sight! Wonderful! i commend you!

    Keep up the great work!

I know...check out that dimple :blushing:

At 5'11 and 41 years old, I was 356lbs and in horrible shape. To make it worse I am a Strength Coach and a Football Coach. I have put my nose down and pushed to be a better example for these young men and my own children. I am 289 lbs as of today and still working to at least get down to 250. My college playing weight was 245 so any where close I will be happy with. Read all the stuff and try until you find what works. Then put your head down and work At it till you get to where you want to go. Nothing of great significance is achieved without great sacrifice. Good luck!!
