what to do with cottage cheese?

Cottage cheese + sour cream + brown sugar (or honey), raisins/nuts/fruit are optional.
If I make cottage cheese myself I add just a little brown sugar without anything else.
Also, salted cottage cheese grains are great, I do not add anything there.0 -
I like to leave it on the supermarket shelf and buy something else instead.0

I cut up a Granny Smith apple and mix the pieces with cottage cheese and I eat it with Thai Garlic Chili Paste to kick it up a bit. It's good to eat at night because of the Casein protein.0

I like to mix a little strawberry or raspberry jam into it. Yum.0

I love it with beetroot and salad (as opposed to using cheddar or some other stinky cheese (I HATE all cheese except Cottage Cheese)).
Sometimes I have a tablespoon of it on a Dark Rye Rivita and a slice or two of cucumber to top it as a snack. Yum!0 -

Haha, I done this for years... But once I tried it, I can't walk past it in the supermarket without buying it :P0 -

My absolute favorite breakfast is LivActive cottage cheese by Breakstone...I need help in the bathroom department:laugh: . Then I add a slice of diced apple, a couple of chunks of melon, a strawberry or two...actually whatever fruit I have available at the moment, but my favorites are apples, pears, melons, and strawberries or blueberries. You don't need much of any of them. I chop everything up into small pieces. They create a lot of crunch and volume...looks like a lot and Lord knows I don't want to see a big bowl with nothing in it. I add cinnamon ... to control sugar levels and add flavor, and if it isn't sweet enough for you...add a Splenda. Mix it all up and yummy. Best part...it keeps me satisfied for a long time.
Also, anywhere you use ricotta cheese, you can substitute cottage cheese. Hope it helps. I'm not much of a cook, but I know what I like. Good luck. Ooop! I forgot the teaspoon of chopped walnuts...love the crunch and it has Omega 3's to boot.0 -

I have heard cottage cheese is really good but i have no idea how to use it! any recipes?
You don't "use" cottage cheese. You eat it. Just eat it. It's good all by itself.0 -
I mixed up with scramble eggs and some basil the other day and my fam bam Loved IT.... best of all they didn't even figure it out... lol until when I mention it.... :laugh:0

Spit it out and never look back at it again (unless you get a good quality cottage cheese). Do not get store brand! It takes like spoiled milk curd!0
-
Eat it by the truckloads is the only right answer.0

I love to make banana nut protein pancakes with it!!!!
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 banana
3 egg whites
2 tbsp walnuts
1 tsp cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
1tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp baking powder
Blend everything but the nuts in your blender until very smooth. Pour onto your skillet and sprinkle the nuts on top. YUMMMM!!!!0 -
I eat it plain, but my sweetie and I also like to make a cheese dip out of it for a special treat. I just warm it slowly and add a bit of 2% or fat free cheddar and a little homemade salsa. It's creamy and feels like cheating without as many calories as regular cheese dip.
What a fantastic idea! Never thought of that before!0 -
With chopped tomatoes and crushed black pepper....mmmm...
I also put it on my spinach omelet before rolling it up.0 -
I chop up onions, celery, green and red peppers, grape tomatoes cut in half, sunflower seeds, and cilantro. Salt and pepper. Delicious.0
