My BMI used to be 16 due to starvation when I was 14. Now it's currently 18.6-18.7 and people say I'm already looking pudgy and that I don't need to gain more weight even though my body isn't functioning properly.
I feel so horrible now. People on here that are anorexic and still losing weight are telling me im disgusting and ruining all my hard work and I'm going to get fat and huge like a house
My lowest I was only 69 pounds. I still feel cold, I'm anemic, my hormones are out of whack and I act insane and not normal. ):
I'm miserable. Gaining weight is scary though.
I gain weight quite easily and am doing it all by myself. no parents help or anything ( they dont care or believe im even sick )
should I continue eating or just..go back like I want to ):
currently eating 1,200-1,300
Get rid of those people trying to bring you down. You are doing the right thing for your long term health and well being.0 -
You are doing fine. Don't let them pull you back into the cycle. (They may feel a need to be co-dependent, but you don't have to.)0

Dear OP,
A VERY recent change to our guidelines (within the past 24 hours) has made it against the guidelines to encourage eating disorders not only in the forums, where it's always been forbidden, but now also in profile posts, private messages, or anywhere at all on MyFitnessPal.
If you are being encouraged AWAY from recovery from an eating disorder, please contact me directly at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/steven and let me know the usernames of those who are violating the updated guideline, quoted below:3. No Promotion of Unsafe Weight-Loss Techniques or Eating Disorders
a) Posts intended to promote potentially unsafe or controversial weight loss products or procedures, including non-medically prescribed supplements or MLM products will be removed without warning.
b) Profiles, groups, messages, posts, or wall comments that encourage anorexia, bulimia, or very low calorie diets of any kind will be removed, and may be grounds for account deletion. This includes positive references to ana/mia, purging, or self-starving. Our goal is to provide users with the tools to achieve their weight management goals at a steady, sustainable rate. Use of the site to promote or glamorize dangerously low levels of eating is not permitted.
c) Photos intended to glamorize extreme thinness will be deleted.
d) Those seeking support in their recovery from eating disorders are welcome at MyFitnessPal.
Regards,
Steven

Bravo! Thanks, MFP!
I second that.0 -
You are doing the right thing trying to recover. Start blocking all the people on here that are trying to sabotage your recovery. You can do it!0
-
I think you should get off this site and into a recovery center or otherwise under a professional's supervision. And I don't mean this in a snarky way. I hope you can find the help you need.
I have to agree with this post.
No offense....but you need help beyond MFP. Please seek out the assistance you need.
You ARE worth fighting for!!!
Add me as a friend, if you like!!!0 -
Continue eating and ignore those that are insulting you. No really, by their name there should be an arrow. Click on the arrow and hit ignore. Problem solved.0
-
Of course you should continue eating, but you probably need to be under a doctors care. And you need to find friends and support on here that match your goals. Just because they're anorexic too doesn't mean that they're here to help you. It sounds like they're feeding your fear of being fat instead of supporting you in your goal to get healthy. Delete them. And go to the doctor.
THIS! THIS! AND MORE THIS!
Good luck, my dear.0 -

I cannot go to the doctor. I have social anxiety anyways. Doctors scare me.
She'll put me on like 3,000 calories or something crazy and I'm far to worried ):
Not if you go to one that specializes in eating disorders.0 -
continue eating 1200 to 1300 calories like you are. delete everyone who discourages you. try a new type of workout and stick to it! find something that you love and just think about making your body as healthy as possible.
i promise it will get better as long as you don't stop
I had an eating disorder when I was younger too. it's possible to recover! message me if you need some encouragement!0 -
Healthy is more important than anything else and I'm glad to see you trying to recover. Eat healthy whole foods, get a reasonable amount of exercise and don't over or under eat and you will look good.0

I struggle in my recovery from EDs and while I actively seek others who struggle with similar issues (people without EDs generally cannot relate at all to what we go through when trying to get to a healthy weight), I also block out people who are actively starving themselves. It is just as unhealthy for me to see their diaries as it is for me to restrict. Block them, don't let them poison your thinking.0

Thats fear playing tricks... no physician or eating behavioral specialist is going to do that, and I know first hand what you are saying is significantly false. I work with well over 300+ physicians for a living with an extremely large and professional behavioral health network. Dont create an excuse - seriously speaking here, get off of MFP and get help...
MFP unfortunately is not the right place for those who are recovering - especially if you continue to associate with others who have ED that willingly continue with their disorder and willingly choose to manipulate you - clearly its working because you are struggling.
You CAN go to a doctor - you should not be dealing with this alone and on your own. My sister almost died because of an ED so I take this as serious as possible.0 -
As someone who has recovered from Anorexia and bulimia myself, I would also encourage you to seek the treatment of a counselor. I know from experience that you cannot fight this HORRIFIC disease on your own. It will come back to haunt you if you do not get adequate care and an understanding of what this disease is truly about. You are taking the first step in acknowledging that you need help, but the food part is only a symptom, there are so many other layers that need looked at. Take good care of yourself and please look for a support group and a one on one counselor to help support you through such a challenging time. I swear to you that my worst day in recovery was always better than any day in my disease. Best of luck to you in your journey through recovery.
I agree with what she said!0 -

My advice to you, m'dear, is this....EAT!! I know it's scary but you have to do what's going to keep you alive and healthy. You're doing a very brave thing by trying to fight your illness, don't give up because other people aren't as brave as you and are trying to bring you down!0 -
Continue eating! It's way more important to be healthy then to be super-skinny, which isn't even attractive to anyone but other anorexics. You're getting healthier, and that's what matters. Ignore the nay-sayers -- they're not worth your time.
Exactly this!0
