What Do You Think Your Calorie Intake Was Prior to MFP?

Min 2500 up to probably 4000.. About 3000 average, I'd guess.
More when I Was drinking cokes, def.
Now I hit 2000 MAX with exercise and try to hover between 1500-1600.
I told myself I should not eat more calories than the average man--there has to be a limit!!! And I do quite well now! )
I still have my 1000 calorie meals which freak me out but I am doing so much better now and I'm proud of my ability to eat like that once a day and not 3 times.

My intake before was less then it is now. The difference then was i only ate one meal a day most days. I counted the calories i ate for a week before i started my life style change. 5 days a week i was under 1000 and the other 2 days were like 3000. Now i eat 6 meals anywhere between 1600 and 2000.0

I calculated one day for kicks and giggles what my typical day was and it was 5,000 *shutter* :noway: No wonder I got to be where I was!!
The calories I have now for the whole day used to be for one meal
this.... exactly. i did the same thing with my typical day and i wanted to throw up when i saw the total. sorry for the lack of correct capital letters... sick, sleeping baby in my arms... can't hit shift.0 -
The first day I logged back in January 2011 was over 2300 cals. And that was after I had decided that I should get healthy and had been "eating better" for a couple of weeks.
So, before that - who knows, 2500 - 3000 at a guess, more if I ate too much chocolate.0 -
Between 600 and 700. Yes, super low but also inconsistent. Many days were over 2000. Tracking what I eat makes it easier for me to stay on a normal range... although I still fluctuate a lot and have some very bad days.0
-
2000-3000 a day. sometimes 1000 a meal just for my breaky wrap...0
-
usually about 700 calories/day. :ohwell:0
-
More or less around 3,000+ cals because I can get away with 2,000 cals. Most of the time, I ate more than 1,000 cals in one sitting. But there was one time when I was 19 when I only ate 150 cals/day when I was under the diet pills that I heard were injected with illegal drugs, YIKES!0

I can't bring myself to think about my worst times long enough to estimate. The weekends were the worst though... going clubbing with friends every Saturday night and consuming the recommended daily intake's worth of calories in alcohol alone, getting pizza or mcdonalds halfway through the night between clubs, getting mcdonalds on the way home for the taxi ride and eating EVERYTHING greasy/carby in site the next day in attempt to nurse my hangover/upset stomach. this was literally my weekend routine; not one night out consisted of less than 2 fast food stops. not to mention the fact that I was getting no sleep and drinking no water..... :sick:0
-
It fluctuates. I cook most of my meals and eat at home. On those days, easily around 1200-1300. On "cheat" days or when I would go out to eat? Probably closer to 2000.0
-
My TDEE is near 1700, and I was eating 2200-2500 calories normally, on weekends or at least once a week near 3000
that's a pretty low TDEE for someone so young; are you sure that's not your BMR?0 -
Not much different than now. I figured I was basically gaining 6lbs a year over a 20 year period. That works out to eating about 50-60 calories a day more than the TDEE of my goal weight. The main difference between my calories now and my calories then is consistency.0
-
I'd say my calories jumped horribly day by day... some days i was lucky i had 1000 and others would have been up over 3000-4000 . befor i started my weight loss journey i would drink only coffee until about 4pm and then just eat junk to bring my sugar energy up until my next break and when i'd get home i would binge... and binge badly! the food i used to eat i could imagine doing it like that now. i still treat myself... but dont go over board! The sound of the word McDonalds makes my cringe.0
-
I was so inconsistent. I used to eat out a lot, so its hard to guess. There would also be days I wouldnt eat all day , but then have a big dinner. I would guess 800- 2500.0
-
2200-2300. I counted a few times. Sadly, this is how I found out my metabolism was slower than average. Those calculators have my TDEE at around 2700 at my highest weight. I rarely ate that much.0
-
I started putting on the weight when we had kids. I figured out I put on 35 pounds in 7 years. The crazy part is according to the math, that is only 47 cal/day over maintenance intake average over that time. Talk about sneaking up on ya.0
-
I'm thinking 3000...blah0
-
3000, easy.
One of my favorite meals.. fried chicken fingers tossed in wing sauce and dipped in ranch.. with fries and a sweet tea.. I'd eat that for lunch and, just for fun I looked it up a few days ago. The chicken and fries alone were well over 1000.. then you add tons of tea.. and that's just LUNCH!!0 -
It's funny to read of everyone on here OVER before MFP. Mine was actually lower. I was under-eating on calories, but my calories I was consuming were crap...0
-
I was eating at maintenance and had no clue. I gained weight when I got married then stayed at that weight. Then I got pregnant and after I had baby 1, I never lost the weight. Then I got pregnant again and when I had baby 2 I stayed at that weight (between 204-207). I only gained during the pregnancies and then it just stayed. I'm guessing I was eating around 2300-2500 a day.0
-
Probably about 3500-4500 some days could be 6000. :noway:
I just had no idea. When I felt myself getting fatter I just threw away the clothes that didn't fit, completely in denial.0 -
Between 4000 and 6000 calories....0
-
I gained 40lbs in one year. If one pound equals 3500 calories. I ate an additional 140,000 (holy crap) calories in a year. About 383 extra calories a day.
40X3500=140,000
140,000/365=383 a day
383+2750= 3,133 a day
x=3,133
showed my work, Im a nerd. :glasses:0 -
800.
Not very proud of that. Sometimes it got up to 3.000 when I binged.
This.... very similar. Weight was all gained I treatment.... where they watched me eat and then followed to make sure we didn't purge....0 -
Probably around 3000 calories, and no exercise on top of that!0
-
And I am glad I read this. More people admitted to eating under and other times binging than I expected.0
-
I work in a bakery!..............Enough said.0
-
On a typical day I would say between 2500-3500 a day before starting. I was ADDICTED to Taco Bell and Dr. Pepper. Like everyday for lunch I ate a burrito supreme, taco supreme, and a bean burrito with sour cream.
ETA - I also did not exercise at all.0 -
such a good question...
Sometimes I think about. For like 2 months straight, my sister and I would get Dairy Queen every night.. and pretty much every morning during that time I started with 2 sausage mcmuffins and a caramel frapaccino. Most days I ate in the cafeteria at work- chicken strips, burgers, fries, loaded baked potatoes, etc.
A whole lot!!0 -
I have often thought about this in the past several months. The only answer I have is: TOO MANY!!!! {{{Shudders}}}}0
