I'm 5'2 and just started. I am 44 and weigh 186. No excuses, just poor eating choices. I am at 1400 cal a day and so far, so good. I have just been trying to add vegetables to EVERYTHING and make smart choices. I lso try to go on a bike ride or walk everyday. As long as I load up on veggies and drink water (no more soda) I feel pretty good at the end of the day. Thinking of healthy snacks are my hardest choice. Any suggestions?0

I am 5'2" and my heighest weight ever was 185lbs - Quite a few years ago...My starting weight on here in January 2012 was 169lbs but right now I am doing a Metabolism Reset b/c of eating VLCD for so many years and wasn't losing any weight on here doing it either...Right now I am eating 2029 cals/day until my CUT in 3 more weeks...Then I will be eating around 1725 cals/day...I am a part of the EM2WL group and thank goodness I found out about the reset b/c I was frantic with exercising and eating VLC and not losing anything at all...UGH, so frustrating!! Right now I am at 165lbs and holding steady...I can't wait for my CUT to start!!

ETA: My goal weight is 130lbs right now...Ultimate goal may be 120lbs...I am also lifting so as long as I am toned - Even at 135-140lbs I would be happy - As long as it is muscle and not fat anymore. I also gave up any soda, most of my sugars, fast foods, juices - I drink water now all of the time and I used to hate water before!! I haven't given up much really b/c I believe everything in moderation really...
I would also be so happy once I fit into single digit size pants again...That is my main goal - So I can throw away all of my 10's through 14's....YAY!!! Soon, I hope!!0 -
I'm 5ft 1in and my highest weight was around 140 (I wasn't weighing myself very much at the time). Like some of the others, my goal is body fat percentage based, as well as body measurement based.
110lbs is my rough goal. Right now I'm about 120.
Back in the day, when I played sports, ran, etc...I was 117 and LEAN like a mofo so I'm not sweating the scale so much these days.0 -
5'2" Currently eating 1672 (BMR). I eat back exercise calories if I need them. SW 216 CW 205. I'd KILL for some of the SW around here!!!!!!!! My first goal is to get from Obese to Overweight (163) and my second goal is 148-140. I weighed 112 20 years ago - no butt, no boobs, no thanks. I have larger bones (I'm not just saying that, my wrists are BIG) so I'm shooting for the 140's.0

I encourage those with less than 15 lb to lose to increase your calories. The less body fat you have to lose, the harder it is to get off. You basically have to coax the fat off lol. Its a slow process and I'm still working on it, but definitely eating more (and heavy lifting) and made the most dramatic change in my body in the last year.

I agree as well. I am 5'1'' and consume anywhere from 1500-1700 calories a day. I weight lift 3x times a week, cardio 3x a week, boot camp and cardio kickboxing classes 1x a week each and yoga at least 2x a week if not more (im in training to be a yoga instructor). With this level of activity, i find it necessary to eat 5x a day ( three small meals and two snacks) in order to keep my metabolism going and to fight off fatigue. Feeding the body is the most important part of successful and permanent weight loss. I try to eat something every three hours throughout the day. I cut out most refined sugars and only get sugar from natural sources like dairy, come veggies and fruit. I also eat a high lean protein diet (fish, boneless skinless chicken breast, turkey, eggs, protein shakes) combined with healthy fats (natural peanut butter, almonds, avocado,olive oil) and whole grains/slow digesting carbs (sweet potatoes, quinoa, oatmeal, Kashi Go Lean, Joseph's pita bread and whole wheat wraps). I have also cut out all condiments except mustard and i put salsa on everything. I have found that bwn 123-126lbs is a healthy sustainable weight for me, but i am more concerned with total inches lost than what the scales says, as it is not an accurate measure of overall body fat lost. I'm a size 4/6 and i'm happy with that. I am naturally curvy and i have found that weightlifting has helped to re-shape my body to look exactly the way that i want it to. I feel better now than i did 10 yrs ago in high school.0 -

I'm 5'2" & right now at 152. I weighed 110 until my late 30's when I had my last bio. child ( we have an adopted 5 yr. old daughter). I lost 25 lbs. 2 yrs. ago, but gained it back within 6 mo. I am determined this time to change my way of eating & what I eat. I do like my red wine in the evenings & won't cut that out. I want to weigh 125 & at my age 55 that is probably a healthy weight. If your young you could go lower. The old rule of weight when I was growing up was at 5' you should weigh 100 lbs. & add 5lbs. for every additional lb.0

I'm 5'1". And athletically built. Medium to small frame.
My current weight is 158.4, and I've been fighting this battle since 2007, when my original starting weight was 232.
My unofficial goal is 120. But right now, I'd like to just get down to a healthy BMI weight (137, I think) and go from there. I would like to see what is maintainable.
edited to add that I currently eat about 1200 calories a day, and only consume my exercise calories on the weekends.0 -

Hello! I'm 5' 2.5" My goal weight is 110 lbs. I reached 107 lbs by the end of last summer (2011) by jogging a lot. I'm a teacher and I took last summer off which gave me all the time in the world to just go jog whenever. The pounds melted away. I felt great!
I put on almost 20 pounds since oct 2011 because I started eating bigger portions and more frequently. Also, I completely stopped exercising by Oct. Nothing I wore last summer fits now.
Sooooo, my goal is to get back down to 110. I need to keep my caloric intake at or below 1200 which would be easier if I choose the right foods. I haven't totally eliminated anything from my diet BUT I should eliminate alcohol. I had drinks several times last week. maybe I should make that the last until I reach a certain goal?
I'm focused on working out consistently again. I've started so now I just have to keep it up.0 -
I am 5 '0''. My heaviest/start weight back in September was 161.3 lbs! I have been maintaining 120 for about 1 month now and am thinking I might try for 115 lbs!0

I'm 5 2 exactly. I'm currently 111.4 and don't really feel the need to get any lower than what I am. I'm currently focused on trying to create lean muscle and definition instead of actively losing weight. I'm set to eat 1400 cals a day but usually burn at least 400 plus during my workouts so I try to eat those back (or most of them). Otherwise I'm starved and evil!
UPDATE--
I've joined the Eat More to Weigh Less group and currently am eating at 2000 calories per day (exercise cals are built in so no eating them back). Feeling great and weighed in at 110.4 a couple of days ago. I'm starting to see muscle definition in my arms for the first time ever. Whooo! For those eating under 1200 calories per day---please stop. It's dangerous for any real period of time. Do your research and read up fueling your bodies properly. Just my 2 cents that I couldn't hold in. Stepping off my soapbox now.0 -

5'1 I weigh between 107-110 most days..
Calories depends on what I did , and how hungery I am. I usually go by the Whole 30 guidlines clean non processed foods. I do not eat enough caloires they are more veggies than fat which im in the process of working on. I would not go by how much someone weighs. once you get down to a decent % in body fat. thats more what you should go by and how your clothes fit!!!

GW 120 - 125 (I want to tone up a bit though - so I care more about inches then weight)
Currently I eat between 1000 - 1200 calories a day, but usually more on the weekends, I walk a lot and do a lot of work around my house in the evenings and weekends (I work 40-45 hrs a week). I am on track to reach my December goal of 130-135, and hope to reach my GW by April - then I'm taking a girls getaway cruise )0 -

I'm 5'2 and currently weigh 141. My highest was 146 My happy weight is around 132 - I stayed there for about 2 years and felt really good about it. My ideal would be about 125. ANything less than that and I look emaciated.
I generally net 1500-1600 calories to lose weight. I know I can net around 1800-1900 and maintain my weight. The past few months were stressful times and involved a lot of travel and eating very badly - netting approximately 2200 / day causing the weight gain.0 -
Hi, I'm 5'1 175 lbs when I was diagnosed Diabetic I was 235 . Woke me up fast! lost 60 lbs . On metformin. but now that i lost a bunch of weight it's pretty much under control. First I want to get down to 140lbs then if that can be done I want to get down to 125. My problem is late night snacking, Chocolate !!! Before I was Diagnosed I was lazy now I'm more motivated for my health. Hard thing is I exercise everyday for loosing weight but have to exercise for blood glucose levels. I want off these pills! I need to find more low carb foods the same thing everyday day in day out is getting old. String cheese - Cant stand it anymore ..HAHA0

I'm 5'1/2"....so almost 5'1". I've been sick the last month and unable to exercise medically, so I've gained a bit of weight. I'm about 102 right now, but aiming to get back down to 97 as soon as I can. Eating at/slightly below 1,200, but it's not really been getting me anywhere without exercising. When I exercise, I eat closer to 1,350. I would love to be 93-95 pounds though. I have a VERY small frame and that is what my mother weighed in college.0

I'm 5'1, currently weight about 160 (starting weight 171) and goal weight 130-135. I've had my calories set at 1200 to lose weight though I allow one cheat meal a week where I can eat whatever I want and go over those calories for the day...that has helped a lot to cut down on cravings and gives me something to look forward to each week and I've still been losing weight. So, haven't technically totally cut out certain foods but did cut desserts/carbonated beverages down to that one cheat meal a week.0

I'm 5"2 and currently 125 which I am happy at, but would like to get down to 116.
I need to be careful as I tend to lose the weight a lot in my face, so although I can lose more, my face starts looking all drawn and emaciated. So trying to do it slowly and in a healthy manner to see if I can prevent that from happening.0
