Im about to try to do day3. Im so freaking sore! Wish me luck!
  • Day 5 completed last night! Today I am on Day 6.
  • It is awesome that everyone is doing this and i am not considering it. But remember muscle weighs more then fat so just cause you weigh yourself and dont see any movement doesnt me you didnt loose fat it could mean you gained muscle. I am no expert of course but i hope this makes you feel better...

I have the 30 day shred DVD and i've never made it past the 1st week. I've been wanting to start back up with it for a while, but haven't had the motivation. I guess I'll get back on it today after laundry :)

I am a day behind, but I want to join! I have spaghetti arms so I'm starting with 2-lb hand weights... shameful, I know, but I'm going to work up to a higher weight. I did it once for 7 days with soup cans, and lost 2 pounds!

Day 16 done! Right now I am alternating levels 2 and 3. So far I've been using 5lbs weights and went up to 7.5lbs, So far I have lost a total of 2 inches and 1 lb. I was hoping for more but I definitely can see a difference in my body and endurance. Hopefully this week I'll see more results

CONGRATULATIONS on finishing level 1. That's awesome! Good luck on level 2, can't wait to hear what you think!

@fmbomzo - thanks for reminding us about the knee modifications. I'm still babying a torn ACL in left knee (1 year ago) and this is the first real strenuous knee activity I've pursued other than really boring PT exercises that I didn't do. I have also modified in the ways you describe. The motion of jumping jacks, for instance, is hard with my particular injury. So I do the arm motion but run in place, or do kindof a "half-jack". Her intention here is cardio - so I think as long as you keep the heart rate up for the 2 minutes, you're OK and still burning the calories.
  • Okay I just started today and I didn't find it that bad! A challenge, definitely, but Jillian is an amazing motivator.

I love the 30 Day Shred! I started it on May 15 and completed the 30 days. I have lost about 15 lbs, but I really wish I had measured because I think the inch loss has been a lot.

I am going to start it up again and mix in some other Jillian stuff that I have.

Just finished day 3. I had to do some modifications during the cardio as my legs were burning but I kept moving so I am proud of myself.

Holy Mother of Pearl....... Level 2 was more intense than I had anticipated. But I did half 'hard' and half 'modified' workouts, so I'm pretty proud! I'm looking forward to it seeming easier in 5 more days (like level 1 started hard and got easier).

I'm really glad I decided to give 30DS a try!!

Hi guys, I've been doing the 30 day shred for a couple of weeks now, I'm currently in level 2 day 3. Let me just say that level 2 is insane. I do more of the modified versions right now and hoping that by day 5 I will be able to do all of it without taking a break. I had so much fun doing level 1, sometimes I even did it twice a day and at the end of level 1 I lost 4.4lbs and 5.1". You guys should push through cos the result at the end of the program is worth it. I'll keep updating y'all about my progress

Every single part hurts. From strength, to cardio to abs. You'll just have to push through each workout.

And by the way, you are suppose to do each level for 10 days, just in case you didn't know that. Good luck

I've ordered my DVD's and cannot WAIT to start this. I've been reading about it for ages but have been too scared to take that leap and then I thought f**k it im going to do it. ABS DONT COME FOR FREE! <<<--- shes right there! Anyways fingers crossed they will arrive by next week and then i will be joining in with everyone. So excited but nervous at the same time. Motivation is what ruins me the most. I eat healthy and I exercise, nothing happens, i feel like theres no point and I fall off the wagon. I dont think iv managed to keep up with it for more than 2 weeks, but then my boyfriend said we were both fattys (YES HE ACTUALLY SAID THAT TO ME! - true but i dont wanna hear it from my man!) anyways, im planning on kicking my fat *kitten* (and belly) to another planet and im gonna need all the motivation I can get!!

You guys are all so inspirational and your doing amazingly!! Each and everyone of you should be proud! Please feel free to add me, i could do with ppl yelling at me and telling me to shred that belly!

You can start tonight dear, Level 1 is on youtube! I'm glad you found us, this group is so kind and good to each other!! Best of luck to you, girl. Just remember - as long as you're PERSISTENT it's impossible to fail. Patience is key!
  • I am done with Day 6. Still going strong. I also lost about 2.4 lbs from Day 1 :blushing:

I felt the same way when I started the shred and dieting. After a four weeks I had only lost two pounds and when I mentioned it to my husband (who has taken classes on exercise training) he told me you loose the excess fat first then you will start loosing weight. Do you notice your clothes are fitting different? That will be your best judge of how hard you are working for a while. I started working out (I have since moved on from the Jillian shred but continue weight and cardio work) in January, I'm down 11 pounds but 7.5% body fat, that was big for me. I stopped worrying about what the scale said and started liking how I looked and felt. I can see the results and feel the results better than the scale can tell me the results. Good luck with your weight loss and I am looking forward to seeing everyone's results!

Well, I did Level 2 today, it was...... different! Definitely a bit more challenging, but I felt like the moves were a little bit more fun! Definitely more ab work in there this time, some of the moves were a little awkward, like the second strength circuit called pendulum lunges or something. I'm not altogether very coordinated so it took me a few seconds before I felt like I was doing the move properly. Can't wait to hear how you guys are doing and what you think! What is your favorite and most hated exercises in Level 1? My favorite was the chest flies and I loathed the anterior raises with side lunges! (Which I think EVERYONE knows by now  )

Totally forgot to do the workout yesterday. I got off work, did laundry that took FOREVER and I was at a friend's house so we ended up drinking a few beers and watching some comedies. BUT i managed to stay under my calorie goal for the day. Beers and all!! OH YEAH! I have a BlastFit class today and although I'm not excited (still sore from Tuesdays' workout..calves are killing me), I usually catch my second wind afterwards and am able to do another workout or walk a mile or two. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted! :) Best of luck everyone!!!!!!!
  • I hate the push-ups and the exterior raises with side lunges most. My favorite was also the chest flies and I don't mind the reverse crunch.
