    Depends on the noise.

    If it's the sound of a bottle opening, I will investigate.

    If it's the sound of a knife stabbing into flesh amidst a cacophony of pain-addled shrieks, I'll probably stay put.

    When you hear a noise outside late at night, do you:

    Freeze and be quiet. Maybe pull the covers over your head, and hold your breath?

    Get up and get the gun to check it out?

    Depends on the noise. I'll usually turn over and fall back asleep because it's normally another drunken college student who just tripped over the bike rack. Again. Btw I live in a college apartment complex. Strange noises are expected...

    When I'm at home home I usually do the same thing because if I don't, I'll never be able to fall back asleep, I'll just psych myself out. Plus, my daddy's the one who has the guns :wink:

    Pfft, it takes a lot to get me to move out of bed, and even more to wake me up. I was in the middle of a massive thunderstorm last year when we were camping. My friend was nervous and wide awake - I only woke up when it rained through the small window in our tent and the tarpaulin hit me straight in the face....

    So I would lie there and not bother. If it actually manages to wake me up and sounds rather suspicious or repeatedly startles me I might stand up and check it out, but I usually really don't care enough :3"
