    Interesting. Although I don't like their age ranges. 15-29? C'mon. I put my age as 29 and was above average for both (what I expected). I input my age as 30 (will be there in 3 months) and was below the national average. I also input my goal weight... below on both! Just another piece of motivation!

    I keep wondering why those of you who find this depressing even did it in the first place. You know you're heavy and presumably you know you won't handle it well.

    sorry for being myself on ere and for having an sense of humour, i am NOT depressed, if i was would i e on a diet - really cmon???

    i have handled it and was making a jokie comment about it, apologies that you didn't take it that way, i was just stating that it could led people to do what i said if they let it, i did not - far from it!
    ditto- I get the sarcasm and/or dry humor PLUS, some of us didn't think we were THAT heavy, holy crap.

    Compared to the USA I have a lover BMI than 87% of women..


    Lol it says I'm most like someone from Kazakhstan. And if everyone in the world had the same BMI as me, it would remove 33,639,270 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population

    How can you calculate body fat percentage based on sex, age, height and weight. Complete rubbish! The BBC should know better.

    They are not calculating body fat percentage. They are calculating BMI (Body Mass Index) . The BMI scale has its flaws as we all know. ie a heavily muscled person also has a high BMI. However, for the most part it is a reasonable estimate of size, and typical body fat percentage.

    It's supposed to fun and interesting:)
