Snacking from supper until bedtime.0

Fast food, junk food and soda.0

hard candy, tea, bigger size fries, soda.
hard candy = addiction
tea = its like my families water
bigger size fries = fries, i mean come on, they're delish
soda = too many calories, why drink it when i can eat it. )0 -
I can honestly say there have been no real sacrifices, apart from vast amounts of lazing about on the couch time and stopping that is no sacrifice. Food and drink wise if I want something I still have it because I am not on a diet as such.0

Time with my kids...But I have recently started having them walk with me.0
-
Soda [my beloved Pepsi], chinese food and cupcakes. I honestly still have some of them rarely but all in all, waaaay less than before I started watching my intake.0
-
Ice cream! I love it, too much! I used to enjoy a big bowl with all the toppings far too often- like every day, if it was in the freezer. I still eat 'ice cream', but my husband and I make our own with stuff like almond milk or greek yogurt, or we make sorbet, and I only eat a little bit every once in a while. That makes it seems like a small sacrifice :-)0

large portions, sweets, pizza, pop, eating out, fast food...lots of things .... can't seem to give up peanut butter and brown bread in the morning though...it would help a lot if i could...0
-
I haven't given up anything... this is a life change for me not a diet. I just eat everything in smaller portions and in moderation now0
-
As far as food...nothing. I still eat things, but I don't eat ALL of the things. I can have an Archway Rocky Road cookie...if I have the calories left. If I don't, then I eat it anyway and hope on the exercise bike for 10 minutes.
My biggest sacrifice is not playing video games all day and night anymore.0 -
3 things come to mind: Alcohol, fast food, soda. And two years later, soda is the one I still have a hard time with. The first two I could care less about at this point.
Oh dear, I've been trying to give up Diet Coke for a month now and I was REALLY hoping that it would get easier. LOL. Oh well, at least this is realistic!!!!!0 -
I have stopped soda completely. I used to eat those large cadbury bars. The roasted almond where my favorite.0
-
I gave up fast food of all kinds, and cut back on processed food and try to eat clean whenever possible. But for the most part, with the exception of fast food, if I want it, I eat it. I just eat less of it! Working so far! :OD0

I havne't had any alcohol in 8 weeks or ice cream. I miss them but I was determined to reach a goal by my vacation next week, (which I did) so I will splurge a little then. :-)0

soda... I used to have multiple in a day. havent had one in over 3 months and i dont at all miss it.
the big one is pasta. I still have it every once in a while. but it used to be an every other day (okay almost every day) sort of thing.
I love italian anything... so pasta issss... well you get it.0 -
Burgers, fast food, eating what I wanted when I wanted0

The big one for me is soda. I used to drink 3 cans at work per day, easily. One in the morning, one at lunch, another at the end of the day. Then, I would drink more when I got home or if we went out to eat (no telling how much I was drinking). Plus, I was drinking coffee daily. I have completely eliminated soda. I had to wean myself off the caffeine slowly to avoid crushing headaches. So, I did continue to drink coffee every day until I could get it down to a tiny cup. Now, I don't drink any coffee either. I'm not completely against it though. It was more a challenge to myself to see I could do it. I just find that I don't really miss it. I'm drinking a lot more water these days. Other than not drinking my calories any more, I haven't given up much. More than anything, I've just cut down on portion sizes and incorporated more fruits and veggies.0

gave up carbs,. but its not a sacrifice. i feel better without them. good riddance!0
-
I would drink close to 5 or 6 soda's a day. I dont even want to fathom the amount of sugar or caffeine I was getting.0
-
Sugar/honey in my tea. Have learned to love it that way though.
What I do miss is eating mindlessly (how sad is that?), like just eating chips out of the bag without counting. But I know that was my biggest problem before- portion size- and that's where I truly need to pay attention. Now that I know much more about calories, macros and nutrition in general, it's hard to live like that because deep down you *know* what you're eating. That's why it's a lifestyle change and not a diet joining MFP That being said, I actually enjoy measuring foods when cooking...strange.0 -
I gave up Monogamy.0
-
Eating whatever I want. I honestly used to just eat whatever i want, when i wanted. I dont know how i stayed the size i did! I was honestly never that big, but i just got to a point where i was uncomfortable with my body.0
-
Gave ups:
1) I have given up mindless eating. Ya know, just eating something cause the idea to eat it just "popped" into your head.
2)Given up fast foods. I've had it twice in my 80 days of using MFP.
Do Differents:
1) Daily counting of calories. Measuring portions. Planning meals (and sticking to plans).
2) Shopping for higher quality foods (I Whole Foods)0 -

I haven't given up any foods. I just eat them less, and less of it when I do have it. That's always worked for me.0
-
I have given up red meats and dairy! This is really touch because I love yogurt, cheese and steak SOOOOO much and the replacements aren't NEARLY as yummy! I haven't really seen a difference in my weight loss, but my body feels better!0

Given up:
*** Girl's Night Out: I still go out with my friends every so often, but I'd rather take them to a workout class or go walking in the park instead of sitting at a restaurant or watching them drink at a bar (I don't drink).
*** Television: I TiVo a whole lot of stuff and somehow eventually get around to watching it... sometimes. If I'm in front of the TV, it's for a moment while dinner is cooking, to monitor the crazy stuff my kids are watching or to do a workout DVD.
*** Domino's: Sure, I love pizza, but I can make it better at home -- with more toppings and for super cheap!
*** Pringles: Yep, carbs and fat and salt and carbs LOL My true loves... or they used to be. We broke up
*** Feeling 'Less Than': I'm a person... all be it a jigglier version of the person I'm becoming. I will not let other people's opinions load my validation tray. I work hard. I play hard. I love and laugh and do my best. That won't change even if there are nay-sayers out there trying to derail me.
*** Sitting on my Butt/Being Lazy: I'm a go-go-go kind of person. Type-A personality and I won't deny it any longer. I like to get up, get out & get busy with my life. No reason to be a lazy bones and let someone else live my life for me. I am still capable of asking for and being receptive to help, but I like to do things myself these days.0 -
Binge eating and about 2 hours of sleep in the morning lol
I haven't given up any food. Everything in moderation. I have reduced a whole lot, soda, fast food, and now I make the snacks worth it.
Good luck in your journey!
This! I agree 100%. I don't eat mindlessly and I devote at least one hour, five days a week, to exercise.... which in turn makes me crave "healthy" foods not the junk I used to eat. Potion size is huge, too. I'm have an iced vanilla latte today. I hate the taste of splenda, so I refuse to get it skinny. But I got a tall instead of a venti and it's plenty. It's all perspective, really. I also eat two "mini" pieces of chocolate pretty much ever day after lunch.0 -
I havent had sweet tea or alcohol in a little over 6 weeks. No white bread or pasta. I only eat 100% whole grain now, if I do eat a grain. Also, I've given up regular milk. I drink almond milk in my cereal now. For the most part given up adding shredded cheese to things. Oh, and potatoes. The only time I have potatoes is on a splurge day (that stays within my calories).0
