    Man, that just makes me feel fat as HELL.

    My bmi is 26. I'm from the UK, Above average global and national.

    Most like someone from Bahamas, which I don't mind since a lot of Bahamian women are HOT (I'm looking at you Shakara Ledard)

    I put in my before and after numbers.

    Before: BMI 31. Higher that 67% of males my age in the USA and 94% in the world. Like Croatia.
    After: BMI 23, BF 20%. Lower than 86% of men my age in the US. Like Comoros and Thailand.

    You can make the change. I personally know people who fell into the "higher than 100%" and now are at "below 66%" level.

    well... that isn't what I wanted to see... I'm going to have to call a suicide hotline... but not until I find out where Tonga is... apparently that's where really fat women in my age range live!!! Just kidding about the Suicide hotline!

    How can you calculate body fat percentage based on sex, age, height and weight. Complete rubbish! The BBC should know better.

    They are not calculating body fat percentage. They are calculating BMI (Body Mass Index) . The BMI scale has its flaws as we all know. ie a heavily muscled person also has a high BMI. However, for the most part it is a reasonable estimate of size, and typical body fat percentage.

    It's supposed to fun and interesting:)

    I totally agree!! and I also think what it tells you is highly irresponsible, given that teenagers and people who might be susceptible to developing eating disorders will read it. Even lots of adults who can take stuff like that with a pinch of salt are finding it depressing. I can laugh at it now (mostly because I know that BMI is a load of rubbish), but at age 15....? It's potentially very triggering, and it also reinforces a wrong mindset (i.e. weigh less = better, rather than aiming for better body composition)

    Apparently I am above fat for my place, above fat globally... and I am most like someone from Samoa.. which sounds about right since I am tall and gigantic. And have awesome hair. The end.
