  • I've done a ton of the programs over the last few years. If you're looking for good results #1 is nutrition. You can do any workout you want but if you aren't eating right you'll never get results. Secondly, insanity is amazing, super hard but it delivers awesome results. It was my first BB program. I done the calendar…
  • My husband and I bought PiYo last year. He did the full 60 day calendar and used MFP to track his calorie intake and lost 26lbs ☺️ I do the workouts from it a lot but also run and do some other exercises but I do think the program works. I really love the way it makes me feel - all the stretching is great! Drench from it…
  • There's always a fruit & veggie tray - avoid the dip. Avoid the crackers and cheese or chips & dip Drink water or tea instead of soda & lemonade Allow yourself one sweet treat (cookie, small slice of cake or the like) Don't say you "can't" have anything. Say you "don't" eat those things - makes it a choice not a…
  • Hi Brooklyn! I'm 5'2" & about 130lbs, my HRM says I burn 180-350 depending on which video it is. The ones that are less intense or more focused on lifting burn less. Alpha round mostly, except for total body circuit - I've completed 60 days of insanity and that one is still a rough work out! I bought a polar ft4 for $50 on…
  • @bsmith986 can you post the link to the one you bought? I've been considering getting one for myself but have no clue which to get!
  • Everyone is different and like the other posters said it could be because you are just starting again. I don't like to eat before my work outs but if I do I usually chose something with some protein and/or complex carbs. The fruit smoothie (while healthy!) may have been too much sugar before a hard work out. Make sure you…
  • I'm a bit of a cardio junkie (also no gym membership)...I did insanity for a long time which you do 5 days of cardio, one day of strength/recovery stretching and one day off. I'm not following a strict calendar anymore but I still do 5 days of cardio (running, biking or a cardio video of some kind) & one day that's just…
  • Take measurements!!! You might be surprised to see they are getting smaller, just maybe not at the rate you hope. I've always hated my thighs, mostly the saddle bag area. keep going, they will shrink...eventually!
  • That damn layer of fat below the belly button has long been my nemesis!! I hate it when I wear a dress and though I'm thin there's still that frigging bump!!! I've decided it's normal and I'm just overly critical. You look fantastic :)
  • The last time I got within 5lbs of my goal weight I got extremely discouraged (and eventually quit & gained back some so here I am trying again!) because of this. Once you get to a lower weight your daily calories needs are less, therefore cutting enough calories to lose 1lb or more a week is not healthy (likely puts you…
  • ^^i was thinking the same thing. For me, at 135, I'm lucky to lose 1lb a week at 1200 calories. Someone at 250 would lose that much or more no problem at 1200. :)
  • I've been down with a foot injury for a week now from insanity. I was on week 7, I plan on picking up where I left off. In the past when stuff like this has happened I hadn't noticed a huge difference, just a little soreness that I may not have otherwise gotten. A work out will probably feel good :)
  • I'm also down with a foot injury and can't even do much walking without pain. I've been doing my work outs from be floor. A lot of different leg lifts, bought some of those ankle weights to add a little more to it too. Of course, upper body stuff & core work. It's not awesome but it's better than nothing :(
  • You can! Just manually enter it.
  • Also not sure why c rock pot got started out??
  • Everything everyone else said. Also, meal plan. Before I shop, I pick out our 7 dinner recipes for the week. I also buy exactly what I need or plan to use all of what I buy. If one recipe calls for 1/2 a bag of spinach, I make sure I have another recipe planned that week to use the other 1/2 bag or plan a spinach salad so…
  • For sandwiches, aunt Millie's makes a 35 calorie whole wheat bread that I love. I can have a slice of toast with my eggs, PB&J or turkey sandwich without killing my calories for the day. But occasionally I spoil myself with sourdough on the side of my soup or pastas. For me, it's about calories, not carbs :)
  • The first time I started insanity I was nursing my then 7 month old. I was 153 and got down to 130. I kept my calories around 1400-1500. The main thing to keep your milk supply up is to drink plenty of water. If you feel your supply go down too much then add 100 cals every few days until you find the sweet spot. I will…
  • Body glide BandAids on your nipples Good shoes Good music Reflective/bright colors Chapstick Take it slow - it's going to hurt at first Listen to your body As the poster above said, ice is not your friend, don't try to be a hero, you will fall in front of others (I did last week!) Track your calories if you are trying to…
  • I fill up all my water bottles at night & stick them in the fridge so they're cold & handy to grab all day. If I have to refill anything I'm less likely to do it. I have a 32oz Nalgene & 4 other bottles that are 20-24oz. Goal is to get through all of them by the end of the day. Most days I do. I also sometimes have a bit…
  • I was totally set on buying Shakeology last year until I logged into the forums here and saw all the posts. There's a lot of shake-o haters on here! I have about 6 friends who are Beachbody coaches (I am not) and promote the crap out of it on my Facebook feed. I've been using the Beachbody workout programs for about 8…
  • Meal planning helps a ton. We make a list of the 7 dinners we are going to make for the week & shop for the ingredients we need. For breakfast I often make a batch of crock pot steel cut oats and then store extras in the fridge for the week, just add a little milk & warm it back up in the microwave & it's done. For lunch &…
  • Do your kegels girl! And I've also heard of people having success with Ben Wa Balls. Having a strong core will help too. I had problems with leaking for a while, I've got two littles as well, but I've got it *mostly* under control now. If you're working out in public and worried about it in the mean time, wear black…
  • You lose weight because it makes you vomit. Have you ever tasted apple cider vinegar?!
  • Another vote for insantiy or t25. I'm a mom with 2 at home with me and have completed both. I started with insanity - most people say to already have some fitness before starting, I didn't, it's hard but if you like challenges that's the way to go - T25 is nice because it's shorter & better if you're just starting out &…
  • Just tried pb2 for the first time last week...i'd suggest that!
  • Definitely check out Chalene's PiYo. I've been doing it & love it. I paid $65 from Beachbody.com but you can Check eBay or craigslist to see if you can get it at a lower price :)
  • I have to share this with some fellow runners in hopes that you will laugh too! This time of year the sidewalks are icy, especially with the melting going on, so I tend to stick to the neighborhood roads. I got to the downtown area where the sidewalks are usually fine & well...they weren't and the road there was far too…
  • Though it's hard, and you'll have to do breaks, drench is my favorite! Challenging but it feels SO good! :) check out the polar ft4. They're pretty inexpensive (I spent $50), give you basic info and are on the list for being fairly accurate!
