  • Also-don't add in your exercise as it will mess with your macros. Just track your food. Even if it is a big *kitten* donut. Put it in there!
  • I love lifting free weights and I try to do it three times a week. The best thing I did was hire a trainer-no offense gentlemen, but I hired a female trainer who knows the frustrations that come with being a female and our body tendencies. She gave me great advice and worked out with me and guided me. It is really…
  • All of my holiday gifts this year were homemade and I made great body butters and body scrubs using coconut oil. It is so good for the skin. Raw coconut oil can taste like coconut, depending on how refined it is. As you heat it up, the smell and taste dissipates.
  • 11 years as a vegetarianand I love cooking! Send me a request!
  • Excellent.....so now the question is what should the ratio be? I know that I should know this, but the numbers are escaping me.
  • I also thought that the carbs were high and protein low, especially compared to fats. How can I adjust that on here?
  • I should add that in light of the weight gain the clothes I bought at the beginning of the year, specifically pants, have all had the be taken in several inches. I get this is good and probably resembles more of what is going on with my body than what the scale says.
  • Whoops! It should be now!
  • Ok, clearly I did not read your post all the way through. You were on a prescription, perhaps try something else? I can't remember what my prescription is off the top of my head, but I do know that it helped. Perhaps some deep breathing techniques like yoga or connecting with a counsler will help.
  • I just recently started taking a low dose of an anti-depressent (10mg) to help me get through PMDD. I spoke with my doctor about the symptoms, which generally occurred between 7-10 days before my period. I had been tracking the symptoms and we both agreed that it was a mild case of PMDD. I would get super crazy mood…
  • I am not an expert by any means, but I believe that clean eating is eating as many non-processed foods as possible. Eating food that are whole foods, not put together by some machine. In order to do this, a lot of food needs to be prepared at home-do you like to cook? :) I try, as much as I can, to cook as many meals as I…
  • The creams to not get rid of cellulite, they made reduce the appearance of cellulite, but unfortunately, cellulite will not just disappear. I used the Nivea concentrated formula and the lotion in prep for my honeymoon, and while I did notice a slight improvement, there were still dimples :)
  • Check to see that your shoelaces aren't tied to tight. What kind of socks are you wearing? I would invest in a good set of running/wicking socks that take away the sweat and keep your feet cooled. Good luck!
  • Yep, it's pretty gross. However, the new thing restaurants are doing is 'tapas', which is pretty nice, in terms of portion size. However, if you want "smart" portion sizes, those tend to be the restaurants that you are going to be paying for not only the food, but the presentation as well-so those restaurants tend to be…
  • I would highly recommend checking out vegetariantimes.com or their magazine. I have been a vegetarian for 9 years and I use stuff from their website at least twice a week!
  • I received the New Balance N4 and really like it as well!
  • The sugar in fruit is natural, not processed, so I think you are ok with that kind of sugar. I too eat a lot of fruits and veggies and am constantly over in my sugar, but most of it is from the fruits!

  • Cindy-definitely, I log in my exercise! I average about 300 calorie burn when I work out. I think part of my issue is that (and I posted this a while ago), my days are so long...usually breakfast around 6:15 and dinner around 8:15 with a lunch at about 10:45. I am a teacher so I am already expelling a lot of energy (I did…
  • I was on the pill for over 10 years and when I started MFP quickly lost about 3 lbs-this was the exact same time I went off the pill. However, I am not doing so well now :/
  • I have the Pandora App on my phone and I have a Beastie Boys channel. Old School!
  • I have such a hard time with Yoga that is NOT at a traditional yoga studio. I used to live close to a fantastic studio, but moved too far away. Plus, as everything else, it got expensive to do that plus a gym membership. I joined a new gym that had yoga classes, but was completely disappointed as the instructors cannot…
  • Push-ups, pull ups and lat pull downs works pretty darn well!
  • vegetariantimes.com is where I get about 95% of the stuff I cook! I also have a subscription to their magazine! It's awesome!
  • I like apple wedges with a piece of string cheese, or some gluten free crackers (15 per serving!) and some hummus. Or, almonds-roasted with no salt and string cheese! I also go way over my sugar, but I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, so I don't feel too bad about it!
  • I'm a vegetarian, and I would HIGHLY recommend either subscribing or checking out Vegetarian Times. Fabulous recipes!! I would definitely research about changing our diet so you get the right amount of vitamins and such. Good luck!
  • I hear you! I have 15-20 minutes for lunch! Here is what I brought today: Hummus Carrots string cheese gluten free crackers Kashi Granola bar That, along with a few snack throughout the day (almonds, yogurt) keeps me pretty happy and energized.
  • Yah! You betcha :) It's crazy out here!! My husband is supposed to play a gig tonight in SE Minneapolis; I kinda hope it gets cancelled. AND he is supposed to drive to Chicago tomorrow! Eeek!
  • Fruit has tons of nutrients that your body needs, and they are natural sugars, so I think you are fine. Also, fruit-such as apples, are a great source of fiber!
  • What are you doing for excercise?
