shrimp tacos with salsa and yogurt in lieu of sour cream. With lemon, salt , garlic and optional dill, as a dip for crackers or veggies.

non fat aspartame sweetened yogurt (and ice cream), equal in my coffee, diet sodas, and 'fat free' baked goods. I now prefer low or full fat yogurt with fruit or honey, coffee with no sweeter or a dash of agave, and sparkling water with essence or a twist. I rarely eat baked goods, but if I do, they're with fat and they're…

Read this wrong, wondered how this guy would make you not want to eat.... ;).

My goal is that 15 minute advanced plank workout. I've mastered the Bowflex 3 min easily and have done up to 5 minutes. But that looks nasty....in a good way.

handstands without the wall in yoga get exercise as a family--swimming, biking etc with my kids. improve my posture cook more ambitious and new recipes

Well, yes, I get annoyed when I get to the gym and the one stair mill is being taken up by someone going really really fast, and bracing their entire body weight up by their arms, thereby negating their workout and stressing the machine....THAT being said... think its great that newbies come *here* and not spent 300$ on…

spicy cioppino with fresh baguette, salad, prosecco.

Amazing! You look great and 15 years younger than your age. wow.
-
whoa, you look amazing. You're beautiful! (You don't look like you have 80lbs more to lose....). 157 lbs in 18 months is a lot and quite fast, so much so that perhaps you have not had time to enjoy your loss or process it. Maybe the maintenance break and/or refeed is a good idea, or focusing on a fitness or other goal for…

I have heard many different definitions of "clean" eating. One acquaintance is a paleo type, eats bacon, duck fat and bunless burgers in large quantities; another is a gluten free vegetarian who mainly eats complex carbs and legumes. Both are proud "clean" eaters. The thing that mildly annoys me about the term "clean"…

I think at the end of the day the issue with fast food --for me---is that it is just not that satisfying in a lasting way. whereas I can make delicious meals from scratch with high satisfaction.... But it does take more time and planning and figuring out new things to eat.

I find the nonfat to be far too tangy, makes me almost gag. But I love the full fat, with almonds and fruit or honey mixed in. I also like Skyr, which is high protein as well. IF the tanginess bothers you, try full fat and experiment with different brands. My husband loves Fage, and abhors Chobani with the passion of a…

I hope you can find a therapist to help you with the mental and emotional perils that dieting can trigger in some people. You don't need to be under to have a disordered relationship to food and your body. Listen to that little voice that knows you need to nourish and take care of yourself.

This would be very distressing to me as well. In addition to thyroid hormone panel, ask about Cushing's. Also are you bloated? Possible huge cyst?

@LC4509 I agree with @craigo3154 what you're seeing is likely posture and musculature, not fat. Tight psoas muscles can actually create a poochy looking stomach. Pilates might also help. i found this article helpful (I have a lot of work to do on my posture) https://corewalking.com/pot-belly-stomach-pot-belly-stomach/

echo everyone else--given that you are 107 lbs and 5 feet tall and a bmi of 20.9, you really dont have a lot to lose. Maybe you want to eat at maintenance and work on a recomp. Everyone is different, but when I tried to get down to that weight (i'm similar height) through dieting I lost my period for years, was cold,…

my husband suffered from plantar fascitis. He still managed to lose 30 lbs this year. He did a lot of biking on the recumbent bike. He also did a couple PT sessions, learned lot of stretching and strengthening of his leg muscles which reduced the fascitis. And he made sure to wear really good shoes. Stop baking treats. Its…

5'2" (or like 5' 1.5") cw is 120, gw is 115-118? current measurements: 35-29-37 . size 4 or 6p, depending. hope to lose a bit more in the waist, and hips. My legs and arms are pretty slender--hope to actually add muscle there to balance my broad shoulders and wide hips. and, I would love to grow a couple inches in height…

I hear you. Strong coffee with whole milk and a bit of sweetener is the thing that gets me out of bed at 5:30 am to get to the gym. I find stevia bitter. I use about 1/2 tsp of agave, which is sweeter to me than sugar. Agave is also very delicious in an otherwise unsweetened, no triple sec margarita (3 parts tequila,2…

Kind of off topic but long ago I learned to put a little oil and salt in the bottom of the salad bowl, crushed garlic or mustard whisked in optional, toss the lettuce (make sure it's dry) very very well. All the leaves get a very light film of oil but none of it is gloppy. Then add in the acid (lemon, vinegar, etc) and…

Nope. And I also don't freak out if I'm 200 under. It's the average over time and whether that gets you to your goal that matters. In fact I carry a lot during the week because I will plan for things like giant lobster rolls and fries.

I have nothing against fasting, works for some people, lots of reasons, I naturally do a form of 16/8 most days. Do I'm not into debating it as good or better. But I do want to say that in those already susceptible, fasting can trigger or worsen eating disorders. Esp those who are fasting in order to lose weight or control…

Thank you all! I will keep.at it the. I had done an hour of weight training this morning and just wondered, hey is this for naught? Glad to know it's not. My primary current goal is to get leaner and build strength/ injury prevention. I started trying to light heavier a couple years ago in the context of crossfit and it…

two thoughts to add: 1) the closer you are to your goal weight, the more important it is to be on track. My deficit is 250 calories/day, which can be blown by guesstimating one thing wrong. 2) I found that measuring food for a while gave me a much better sense of how to estimate calories when I'm out. I dont measure…

An an incredibly fit and slim friend gained 15 lbs from ivf. And then another 30 when it finally worked. Give yourself a break.

I lost 5-7 lbs with weeks of weaning both my kids..a lot of it was just fluid I think.

Is there such a thing as wine fasting?

Definitely have wide hip bones. My midwife said first time she met me--oh good, most petite women don't have such wide hips. and its true, my first was a hair under 9lbs and while labor was long, pushing was 15 min. luckily he also had my small head.... anyway, my bmi is now 21.9 so middle of the range. I think I'm going…

I got a roller thing and two IT band supports and iced it and its better, but I am also going to do a few PT sessions to figure out how to strengthen my knees/around the knee joints.....evidently i have weak adductors compared to my abductors, and when I was doing a lot of leg work, the abductors were essentiallly 'taking…
