Videogames? Yup, but I never seem to finish them. Maybe today I'll work on Ni no Kuni. Roleplaying? Does in the bedroom count? Music? OH yes. I'll listen to just about anything and love new music suggestions. Geek? Barely concealed geeky fangirl over here. Loose-leaf tea? I love tea - but nothing flowery or overly fruity…

What cross trainers did you end up going with?

Train for hills. This year our race was supposed to be on a flat course and then it changed to a skihill. I hadn't been hill training as much as I should have and it really did me in.

I've been registered for the half since it opened and I'm going to register for the 2 as well - then my ORW medals are complete ;p I'm debating on what to sign the kid up for. He did the 2k this year and it was a good race for him. He can totally do the 5k distance but SO MANY PEOPLE. I'm afraid he'll get flattened - he's…

I have 2 weddings next summer, both brides are wearing "corset" style dresses. They are much more forgiving and easier to alter. The dress they chose (yes they both picked the same one.. it's making for interesting bridesmaid times on my part) can be taken in almost 5 sizes due to it's original construction (corset waist,…

Don't block it out, stand up to it. Call them on their BS behaviour. It's not you, who should have to adjust to deal with the words but they (who I am assuming are old enough to know better) to shut the hell up.

We follow a breakdown of the piggy bank. He's got just a regular old bank and every few months we take the contents to the bank to cash in**. Savings, Spend, Donate, Invest - 25% of whatever the total is for each part. We match what he puts into "invest" (his education fund). He chooses usually most months his donation…

Wrong. The processing of PB2 is chemical/GMO free AND there are no commercially available GMO peanuts available in the US. Bell Plantation sources their peanuts from peanut farmers across the states.

Absolutely take the time to transition. My friend didn't and they pretty much crippled her for months (she used to run with the equivalent of a lazy boy recliner on her feet). I have several pair but only use them these days for obstacle racing, lifting and I have a pair for in the house that I wear like slippers (for…

We buy local roasted coffee. If we grab something at the store it's usually Kicking Horse. Whole bean, grind it ourselves. Most days however we rely on our Nespresso machine. However the BEST coffee IMHO is Jamaican Blue Mountain. Buy from certified sellers.

In 10 years ago I lost close to 70 pounds in about 7-8 months after cutting out fast food, alcohol and soda in my diet combined with only walking. So yes you can lose the weight with good eating habits and walking. Make it brisk, do it every day and find some hills to go up and down.

One of my besties has unders. I can't remember her recovery time but it was definitely around 2 months at least. They look/feel uhmayzing and she lifts like a beast these days (she's a figure competitor).

I just completed my first marathon last weekend so June is pretty light for me. I have Spartan Sprint in a little less than 2 weeks and then after that nothing until the end of August.

ORW is just days away. Are we all ready for this? I'm not. I'm freaking out. My training was heavily sidelined this late Winter/Early Spring with my mother passing away and battling depression but I'm still going to do the full on Sunday. It's probably going to take me the whole time allowed, but I don't care anymore - I…

It could be your hip flexor, IT band, piriformis or a combination of all three. Lots of stretching, foam rolling and exercises to strengthen that area. like 123dmc said, the foam roller needs to be dense and firm - it's gonna hurt but in the end you'll feel so much better.

Medals : I'm making a holder for mine - still looking for the perfect doorknobs to hang the medals from. Right now they're scattered around the house. Race bibs: I only keep the big special ones (special meaning or bigger races), the rest get thrown out. Shirts: I keep the good ones for workout shirts, donate the rest.
