  • I was looking here for answers when I saw your title cause I wonder the same thing. Sometimes I just can't get the energy to exercise even though I know that I will fill better if I just do. Then I wonder if it is high blood sugar or depression. ?????????????
  • I suggest mentioning the extended release Metformin to your doctor. Made a world of difference for me.
  • AT my job, we call it the "metformin run" cause when it hits, you don't have long to get to the bathroom. I went on extended release and it doesn't happen nearly as much!
  • I seldom used my treadmill and was depressed when it came to exercising UNTIL i started walking outside. I enjoy it alot more then the treadmill. Since Im in the south, the cold doesn't stop me very often. I use it as time to catch up with friends because I leave with a full battery on my phone. If Im in a good…
  • With you! Doc did change my med to night time to help with this. I do believe that the biggest thing is how late I eat my last meal and what it is.
  • hookilau- that was hilarous and so true cause Im a teacher too and Ive done everything but the stairs (cause we don't have stairs) U did leave out a part though (that I at least had dealt with) those aggravating buttons that seem to get stuck when u are trying to make it there in time. Our school nurse told me to add…
  • First , I couldn't handle the side affects of the regular metformin so I went to the time released and that helped. I decreased after my last A1C but I have seen slightly higher numbers so Im not sure if I will have to go back to my original dose. Will have to wait till the next A1C. Best of luck to u !
  • It is a walk where diabetics and family and friends of diabetics, come together and raise support . It is a program sponsored by American Association for Diabetes. I tried t get a direct link to post here but having issues....... I saw it mentioned in an article on diabetes and looked it up. Sounds like it would be worth…
  • I feel ur frustration. Sometimes I do like I am suppose to and Im still high and at other times, I can handle things. Its all confusing but I am learning too. I don't think our bodies are the exact same every day. Stress and heat seem to wear on my numbers too. Best wishes
  • I feel you "dishearteness" if that's a word. I hit my plauteau a month ago and can't move any more pounds off. The boyfriend says the scales aren't going down but I'm looking size cause he can reach around me more. Not sure if its true but it does help me keep going. Hoping some folks have advice for you that I can grab…
  • Ask your doctor about EXTENDED RELEASE. I couldn't take the regular metformin but have no problems with the extended release. Cost the same, works great, worth the change!
  • I am low carb..not low fat so I eat pepperonis.....
  • Don't know why your scales aren't moving but I was told when mine stopped before that I was probably turning fat into muscles....maybe...??? Also, even when I stopped seeing the difference on the scales, I saw it on my clothes... Don't give up.....! :noway:
  • I am an emotional eater also. My best advice is to have only healthy foods to snack on (which is hard when you have kids or are on tight budget). Also, gotta work on the roots of your stress. I sometimes head to exercise when I find myself wanting to eat because Im upset and exercise always makes me feel better.…

  • No where close. I am way down in the south end of the states. Georgia to be specific. But hey, my biggest supporters and friends on here are just as far away! Hope you are having a wonderful day!
  • I love ya'lls positive attitude. I am , at current, only in need of pills. I am trying hard to avoid the shots AGAIN as I had to with my gestional diabetes. Please forgive me for gripping about my pills. Ya'll have a more difficult road. Keep up the good attitude and encouraging others!
  • I have three very picky eaters at home. I know what some say, "Cook it and make them eat it or starve" I can't do it. My children eat lots of mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. I hate it but that is the way life is right now. I try to concentrate on preparing healthy foods for me. In doing so , while continuing to cook…
  • My boyfriend and I went out looking for a specific candy last week . I wanted it and we couldn't find it. that is a good thing. However, I feel the jellybeans will win out. Im just going to wait till they are on after Easter sales so as not to break my diet and my sale rule.
  • If there was a place beside each meal that we could put our Blood glucose level. I use the notes section at the bottom but would like a place next to the meal that influenced my bgl
  • I too would like to see the "like" button!
  • My fasting was 155 when I was going through routine screenings at the doctor's office. That was what alerted the doc that I MIGHT be diabetic. Then they run the A1C to confirm.
  • Im in south Georgia.... where are u?
  • Sorry you are going through such a rough time. I lost my dad two years ago so I can understand some of your feelings. The first step is the go step... once you get going, keeping it up is easier. Emotions make u tired so a little extra sleep won't hurt! Wish I could be more help!
  • I would think , once you get it all worked out, that this is a good thing as your body doesn't seem to be needing as much meds. Definetly talk to your doctor!
  • NO u aren't..... had to ask to when I first got here!
  • Nope, once we do a little bit for ourselves then we realize there is life out there other then our kids. Do something for yourself and they reap the benefits because we are healthier and happier!
  • Haven't tried this but copied it so I can....thanks!
  • I walk with my kids. Its easy now cause they are 11, 12, and 16 but when they were smaller, the two youngest were in a stroller and the bigger one rode her bike. I get to exercise and my girls get outside time with mom. I know that walking may not work forever but its working for now.
  • People that tell me if I'd loose weight and eat better that I wouldn't be diabetic. Yes, both are helping my pancreas' ability to produce insulin but neither will cure me!
  • Im at extended release twice a day and my fbs is usually between 110 and 125 but my last A1C was 5.4.
