We all know it's ALLL about the t-shirt
I am signed up for a 10K next saturday. The race is in Santa Monica. They emailed everyone inviting them to come early to pick up the packets with t-shirt, bib and chip, so we won't all have to wait in a tremendous line on race day. I had paid the extra $5 to get the dri-max shirt, instead of the cotton one. I'd ordered a…

O. M. G.
I just saw a commercial for three new flavors of Light Laughing Cow: Mozzarella (eh.) Chipotle  (Oh wow) and Blue Cheese  (OMFG) Input from anyone who has had these? I am especially curious about the blue cheese. I LOVE blue cheese, the stinkier and stronger the better. Laughing Cow Swiss is very mild in…

another one bites the dust!
Another size, that is... The last time I felt OK in my own skin was about 5 years ago, and I was wearing 14's. Now I have made my way back to that size, and I have kind of stalled out...because all of the "skinny" clothes I have been hanging on to in my closet now fit me. Even the jeans slip right on, (even if they are…

So Cal runners...thoughts?
I want to register for a 10K, and I'm new to So Cal. I found info online for a 10K on December 11 in Venice/Santa Monica, and I also found one the following week in Manhattan Beach. I like the idea of running near the ocean...which would you pick? Any input is appreciated :)

Dang...Got Me AGAIN
EVerytime I go to costco it seems like some food item catches my attention. This time I found CD shrimp wonton soup bowls. Only 115 calories per bowl of soup, and practically no fat. Sounds great right? Six bowls for $8. Bargain, yes? Well.....I got home, fixed on of those bad boys up for a starter on my lunch, and noticed…

not to be a totally evil temptress....
But Chipotle has a BOGO deal right now. Here's how it works: if you have an iphone, and youuse it to access facebook, you go to Chipotle, use the "places" feature to check in, and it pops up a window for buy one get one free on burritos, bowls, tacos and salads. The promo ends tomorrow. I just heard about it today and I…

Interesting Article
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101018/india_nm/india522760 This article discusses the findings that 30,000 years ago, early folk were making bread. It goes on to say that this may be a shake-up to the followers of so-called "caveman" diets. (since the claim is early humans didn't eat grain products) What do you guys think?

Yesssssssssssssss
When I started losing weight, I was wearing about a size 20. I was actually wearing 18's, but I was squishing out of them in denial, so I know I was probably really a 20. Today, I bought a dress and a suit in a size 12!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO Ya!!! It feels so good to get new clothes in smaller sizes!

vegetarian.....turkey?
I went to a bridal shower this weekend. One of the guests had brought two big trays of baked ziti. One was labeled BEEF and one was labeled TURKEY. She proudly informed us she had baked two different trays, and gesturing to the turkey, she added, "For the vegetarians." She repeated this comment twice, so I'm fairly certain…

Birthday Love
I was feeling all down on my way to work tonight. I had invited out a bunch of friends to go out to dinner with me and hubby tomorrow to celebrate my birthday (which isn't until Saturday), and they all had plans. So I was all sad and feeling sorry for myself. Then I got to work, and my students had brought me: 1. two dozen…

Wedding Ring and Watch
I had both sized, since they were both flopping around. My wedding ring was made at a size 8, I purposely oversized it because I needed a 7.5 but the ring is wide and like Cinderella's sister said..."sevens are so comfortable I always wear eights...LOL" My watch had a link removed and my ring went down by 1.25 sizes! YAY~!…

New Resolve
I've been a MFP member for more than a year now, coming up on two years actually. I have stalled out and slowed my progress for various reasons, life, apathy, extreme stress, etc. I've been able to maintain my losses, but I haven't made any real progress in way too long. But I have new resolve and I am ready to finish…

Skinny Jeans
well okay they are size 14's so they aren't actually *that* skinny, but they are a pair I have not been able to even put on in more than 3 years! ten lbs ago I could get them on but not zipped. Now they are on and they only give the slightest muffintop! YAY!

So Interesting!!!!
I was browsing news stories and found this: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/what-should-you-eat/carbohydrates/ I had no idea that specifically "whole" grains are so important for maintaining a healthy heart. I thought all grains/cereals and the like were equal, but the researchers at Harvard explain it so well.…

Finally got Hubby on board!!!!
My husband has always been pretty fit most of his life, very athletic, loves to lift weights, etc. Well his method of weight loss has been....I can eat whatever I want as long as I work out enough to burn it off. This is *kind of* true, but he wasn't measuring or keeping track of anything, so his weight has been creeping…

it's a nice problem to have, mind you......
I have a problem: I was given an enormous amount of free food, and a lot of it is perishable produce items. I have many pounds of broccoli, all the tops, all cut up, ready to steam and eat. The problem is, there is absolutely no way for us to eat it quickly enough. can I a) freeze it as-is, for later use, to be cooked…

HRM question
so I am wanting to get one, and I am looking on ebay. When one is listed as men's vs. women's, is it simply designating the style/design qualities, or has it been pre-programmed with male/female data? what I mean is, are they calling it a women's just because of how it looks, or does this designation change how it will…
