Iron Infusions - What to expect??
I will soon be getting iron infusions but even my doctor doesn't know what I should expect since I live in a place with socialized medicine and the hospital is now taking over this process. Wondering if any of you out there are getting iron infusions for anemia? I cannot and will not ever be able to absorb iron from my…

Out of curiosity
I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there doing this like me without logging food and exercise? I am alone amongst my lovely friends. I announce what I am eating and how I am exercising when I do it, but for me the numbers do not add up at all and I have taught myself to crave very healthy foods over the past…

Am I a pear or an hourglass???
I am just not sure. I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs but, my chest is the same circumference as my hips. My top part is not particularly smaller than my bottom part. My waist is much smaller. Is the definition where you carry your weight that makes you your shape, or is it the actual measurements themselves?…

Almost there
3lbs away from being normal weight based on the doctor's requirements. This is a huuuuge accomplishment for me as I never intend to be overweight again once I get within the normal weight catagory. It has been a long time coming and I have learned a ton along the way. Thanks MFP!! Merry Christmas!!! The 3lbs to go is…

Intermittent fasting
curious what you guys think about it?? I have been really happy so far but I have been only doing it 2 weeks. I lost all the weight I gained on holiday right away. Now I am really close to the lowest I have been. I have been on a plateau for months and the normal way isn't working for me. Fasting 2 days a week reminds me…

uterous removal???
Hey there, Just wanted to ask if anyone has gotten their uterous removed? I have 3 kids and do not want anymore, getting my husband sterilized here would cost a bit of money. Since I am anemic-needing iron infusions every 3 months, bleeding is not a good thing for me. What kinds of problems does removing the uterous…

Need more friends that looove veggies like I do
Hey There, I am a pescatarian, meaning I eat fish, beans, eggs, tons of veggies and some fruit (but I enjoy veggies more). I have noticed a ton of people lacking on the veggies in their meal planning. I believe in 6 fruits and veggies a day and I also believe that the quality of the calories count. I would love to have…

qualities of calories
Now this is something my doctor was at war with my nutricionist about so I would love to hear your opinions. Do the quality of calories count? I know if all you do is drink alchohol you will not gain weight, just get sick. Could you get fat off of eating mostly vegetables? If all your calories were starch, would you gain…

Exercise Calories???
I am not sure if I am understanding this right. My calorie goal is set to 1744. I found my BMR on another calculator (tried several of them actually) since MFP's calculator is a little low, I think because it doesn't take into account that I am a half of an inch taller and only allows me to say I am 5'3". MFP was listing…

New Slogan Put the scales away, what do the inches say??
The most common post I am reading is that people are getting frustrated after only 2 weeks of working out that they are not losing weight. I am in that same position at the moment. But the exciting thing I am seeing, which is way better than losing scale weight, is that I am losing a ton of inches. I have lost 5 inches…

As I was taking my loooooong walk this morning with my pedometer i pod in one hand and my cell stopwatch in the other an idea was hatched. For all those of you that have a hard time staying consistent with exercising, you know the ones that record every little thing they do as exercise so they don't have to really do it (I…

Have you noticed?
That being healthy is contagious?? When people see you looking and feeling great they want a piece of it too. My husband started running again and has vowed to get in shape for real this time as a response to my fitness regime of walking at least 10,000 steps a day. I also feel motivated when I see others looking and…

what does everyone think of fasting a day or 2 a month?
Can fasting be a good tool in flushing out the system a couple times a month? What are your ideas. I always lose weight when I get sick and can't eat anything at all, I do not gain it back either. Sometimes that is the only way I move down the scale. I would love to hear your opinions about fasting. Can you do it? It is…

what do you think??
At one point in my life I was 230 lbs. That was the highest I have ever been. I am wondering if it might be more motivating to have my starting weight start there instead of starting with where I am at now 163?? I still have a decent chunk to lose but it might be more motivating to see that I am nowhere near where I used…

Womenly Chat
Ok ladies, I just got my IUD (meridian) in November (3 children is enough). I have pretty much had a nonstop period ever since. It is such a pain because it messes with my hunger. My doctor said it will take up to 4 months for my body to settle down. Anyone else have any experience with this? I hate being a woman sometimes.
