Parents trying to lose weight..the wrong way?
Hi everyone, this post isn't about me, but rather my parents. My dad is 51 years old, has HBP, and is a diabetic and weighs about 249 lbs. He used to weigh about 269 lbs a few months ago, but was able to lose some weight and control his sugars and even have some of his diabetic meds reduced! He has been frustrated lately…

Motivation/Dream Boards
Does anyone here have any weightloss dream or motivation boards?! I would love to see them if you do! For those that do not know what those are: They are basically cork boards or posters that have anything that may inspire and motivate you to get to your goal, whatever it may be! Some people have numbers for their weight…

Exercise with possible kidney stone/ovarian cyst?
Hi everyone, I went to the doctor today for pain on my side that's been obstructing me from daily acitivities. They said they believe it's a kidney stone and gave me pain meds and meds for the stone, but it could possibly be an ovarian cyst, but we won't know until next week when I can get an ultra sound. I completely…

How to set a realistc long term goal
Hi everyone, I've been dieting/exericising on MFP now since early March. I've lost about 10 lbs since then. I weigh 271.6, female, 23 years old, lightly active. I just noticed that I always set shorter term goals for myself, (example: lose 20 lbs by June 1st) etc. But I've never made a commitment to a long term goal…

What times do you eat?
My schedule usually is breakfast at 8AM, lunch at 11AM-12PM, snack 1-2PM and dinner at 5PM, and snacks 8-9PM. My boyfriend always tells me that I eat too early in the day/night and that's why I tend to snack more in the evening. Should I schedule my lunch and dinner a little later to avoid this? Usually I will eat about…

Very stiff on pelvic bones after exercise.
So last year, I began playing volleyball at school (leisurely) and noticed I kept getting extremely stiff on my pelvic bones whenever I would sit or lay down for a little bit. I attributed it to me jumping and stretching far to hit the ball. Fast forward a semester, I stopped exercising/playing volleyball for a few months,…

Weight Loss Plateau within first two months?
Hi everyone, I am female, starting weight was 281, current weight 273.6, age 23, lightly active and exercise about 3-5 days a week for the last month now. The first two-three weeks of dieting and exercise I lost about 7 lbs, which was great! And since the beginning of March, I have NOT been able to move past 274 lbs. It…

Best exercises to tone up.
Hi everyone, I am 23 years old, female, weigh 276 lbs. I currently started dieting again and am trying to make major changes. Though I know some cardio would help, right now my schedule is pretty busy with going to school Mon-Fri and working every Saturday and Sunday. I would still like to tone up a little bit though and…

Binge Eating
Hi everyone, I recently started dieting again, and time and time again, I occasionally get this urge to eat absolutely everything in sight. Sometimes it not even hunger, sometimes it is. Today I did good and avoided that binge, but I hate the feeling of getting that urge. It doesn't happen often, I'd say maybe two times in…

About myself: Female, 23 years old, 281 lbs, short term goal to lose 30 lbs and a long term goal to weigh 200 lbs. I've been using Myfitnesspal off and on for about 3-4 years now, but this is been the longest I've gone without using it and the most weight that I've gained in the last 4 years as well. I saw the connection…

Fitness change up?
I hear its always good to change your fitness routine, but does this mean to keep with something consistent for a few weeks, or is it okay if I do it daily? I was planning on doing a different exercise video everyday! Thanks!

Skin bruises easily with certain exercise.
So anytime I do any exercises that require me to be on my knees, such as modified push-ups or these weird ab twists, my knees bruise really easily! I have a yoga mat too, but it barely seems to help. I still do the exercises, but the next day I'm left with bruises on my knees and it usually hurts too much to put my weight…

I don't understand people.
I do not understand people. Here I am, I've lost 40 pounds, back and forth, I gained back 10-15 but I lost those again. I exercise 5 days a week, eat as healthy as I can. And I am surrounded by these monsters of people that tell me what I do is not enough or useless, or not working. They ridicule me, they scrutinize me,…

Best thing I heard today and it made sense.
I saw an old friend today, one whom used to know me when I was a lot thinner. (Saw him at the gym) and I was like yeaaap I gained a lot of weight and now I'm here and he replied, "it's all good dude, gotta gain weight to lose it!" It was something so random but it worked for me lol Now whenever people pick on me that I'll…

Healthy Chip replacements!
Chips are my weakness, I usually eat them with any meal that's I make at home, sometimes a little, sometimes two servings. My question is if anyone knows of any healthier versions of chips, reasonably priced. Another thing, where I'm from there is no fancy healthy food places such as trader joes or whole foods, just…

Gym Playlists
I'm interested to know whether some of you gym goers have any playlists that are uploaded somewhere? I'm always looking for new music to add to my Ipod, but after a few weeks it starts getting old! I like listening to most types of music with exceptions to country and hardcore dubstep. I prefer rap, hiphop, dance, house,…

Heating Canned Chicken breast?
Hi! I was wondering if it's okay to heat canned chicken? Or rather if it would taste good to do so. I wanted a simple chicken and cheese sub for lunch tomorrow (melted cheese on chicken) and would like to know if this is a good idea or not! Thanks for any help! :D

Jogging with knee pain?
One thing I have always wanted to do is jog/run, and I recently started doing just that. I weigh 266 pounds and have some knee pain. My mother keeps telling me that I'm too heavy to run, that I shouldn't be running....on and on. And I'm not going to lie, it hurts a little to run, but it's bearable and I keep going, but…

Netting 1200 a day?
So right now, I'm 266 pounds, lightly active throughout the day, and exercise five days a week for about an hour, I'm eating about 1800-2000 calories a day, but my net calories come in at 1,100-1,200 calories. Is this normal or too low? I'm logging less calories than normal because I don't usually have time for breakfast…

Fast Food Meal Builder
So I am pretty sure I am not the only one out there where fast food is way more convenient than any other ways of getting food for myself, so I wanted to create a fast food meal builder thread! :D I know fast food is bad, and I do cook at home a good amount of the week, but sometimes its fast food! I also know how many…

What does it mean if..
One scale isn't really changing and another one is by like 5 pounds? ._. I've just put a new battery on my digital scale, it was semi cheap, like $15 and that scale barely seems to budge. On the other hand, the Wii scale seems very consistent. Which should I believe? lol I can step on the digital scale and get 3-5 pound…

Suddenly cannot sleep.
I changed my diet again last week, lowering my calories, I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but for the past week I cannot sleep AT ALL. Today has been the craziest so far, I have been up since 3PM yesterday and it is now going to be 12AM a whole 24+ hours later.(which is almost 2 days later) I slept 2 hours…

What do you remember that makes you laugh now?
I was thinking of some of the things I used to do when I very very first started exercising and dieting and they make me laugh now, and I think to myself how I could have thought those things. An example, I used to think that eating a one huge meal a day was good because I was only eating once a day and must be losing…

Why am I not losing?
Eating about 1500-2000 calories a day and was doing about an hour cardio (roughly 700 calories burned) and weight lifting 5 days a week. I did this for about this December-March and lost 20 pounds. Since March, I have been losing extremely slow. I took a break in May but started back up June 1st. 1500-2000ish calories a…

Face problems since exercise/weight loss.
This is really the first time I have exercised this much and lost this much weight, but since I have my face is going through some god awful changes. In December, when I started I immediately began to break out bad, like never before, not even in teen years, in an area I had never broken out before either. This has lasted…
