Vitamins, Supplements & Herbs - what do you take?
It's been asked before, but I'm wondering not only what supplements you all take, but which supplements, herbal remedies or super foods you have added to your diet and actually seen some type of improvement in either your health or weight? I take: Multivitamin Calcium - I lost 5 pounds the first week after starting the…

Regrets?
There was this really cute pink vintage style cruiser bicycle on Kijiji a few months ago, and I was going to buy it. I didn't, and now I regret it. Ah, I feel better now. What do you regret?

52 FUN FACTS - put a star beside the ones you knew!
52 random fun facts. Put a star (*) beside the facts you already knew. :) 1. Mosquito repellents don't repel. They hide you. The spray blocks the mosquito's sensors so they don't know you're there. 2. Dentists have recommended that a toothbrush be kept at least 6 feet away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles…

Every day for 6 years- a video.
This guy took a photo of himself every day for 6 years, and made a video. I found it very surreal and beautiful...and kind of sad. http://www.vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=99392 I wish I had started taking photos from day 1 of my weight loss...that would be interesting to see 2 years from now.

Narrowing disc in neck- anyone familiar with this?
I saw my doctor today to discuss my neck x-ray, and she says I have minor narrowing in c5/6. She said she didn't think it would be responsible for any neck pain, and left it at that. I don't really understand what this diagnosis means, and I didn't really think to ask her any questions about it at the time...particularly…

Junk: what's easier for you- moderation or none at all?
When it comes to things you either shouldn't be eating or need to eat less of, do you find it easier to have a little once in a while or to give it up completely?

I'm taking issue with those telling people it's ok to starve
Why encourage someone to not eat enough? I don't quite get that. Sure, there are quick and dirty ways to lose weight, but weight isn't the only issue- we all want to come out of this healthy, don't we? Ok, so you don't believe that "starvation mode" exists, that's fine, but it takes a certain amount of calories to fit in…

How much is your weight up by the end of the day?
For those who have scales at home and hop on them often, how much is your weight generally up by the end of the day?

The hype has died down, but H1N1 is still scary.
My brother in law recently found out that he has pretty serious kidney damage from the H1N1 virus. He's undergoing a lot of testing, and we're not sure what the prognosis is yet. I really wish everyone would take it seriously and get vaccinated.

...and the latest on our Tiger Woods investigation
We live in a crazy world. I glanced over at the TV, and on ET they were "reporting" on their ongoing Tiger Woods "investigation". The latest news was Elin carrying boxes out of the house, "some boxes were placed in the SUV while other boxes were placed in a moving van"...OMG, really? Now that IS breaking news.

For those who have fallen off the wagon...
...and gotten back on, what motivated you? I'm having a very hard time getting back into the healthy living frame of mind, and I don't want this to be over... I've tried focusing on where I want to be in 6 months or a year, and I've thought about my health, and how much better it feels to eat healthy and exercise...but…

How's everyone feeling on January 1st?
So, how is everyone doing? Are you feeling inspired on the 1st day of 2010? Do you have regrets about how you spent the final few weeks of 2009? Nervous you won't get back on track? Ready to jump in feet first? Anything you want to reflect on? Advice you want to offer? I'd like to know how everyone's feeling as the new…

I gained 13 pounds over the past few weeks.
Weighed myself today...up 13 pounds in the past month or so. I'm at the same weight now that I was on October 1st. Nuthin' like wasting time. Yet again I've adjusted my pounds lost ticker, and I freakin' refuse to adjust it any lower. I need a good smack upside the head (but please don't, I have a headache). Either I get…

Does anyone remember Dave?
I remember when I first found MFP, the posts I had come across were about some guy named Dave leaving, and there seemed to be a lot of drama surrounding it. I'm kind of curious what that was all about if anyone remembers? lol

I hate nutritious food...in the winter anyway.
It felt great eating light and healthy in the summer, but since the cold weather and snow has come, I just want junk. I've been trying for weeks to turn myself around and get back to that healthier mindset, but it's just not happening. If I make a salad now or cook chicken, I can't even eat it...I would much rather have a…

Do you find newly acquired weight is easily lost?
Do you find that when you've gotten off track and gained back a few pounds it comes off pretty easily once you get back on track? I've always figured newly gained weight is easier to lose...am I right or delusional? :) I've been eating like crap for the past few weeks, and my weight is up 5 pounds or so. According to my…

Are you guaranteed to lose lean muscle mass w/o strength tra
Are you guaranteed to lose lean muscle mass without strength training? Although I do cardio & stretching regularly, I just can't seem to get into weights right now. I probably would if I had access to a gym, but here at home I only have these tiny little 3.3 lb dumbells (which I was using in the beginning, but bored of…

Ladies over 35 who have lost- did the chin area firm up?
This is one of my biggest concerns as I lose weight. I'm losing weight off of my face (which is fabulous), but I'm worried that my jawline isn't going to firm up. For those of you lovely ladies my age (I'm 36) who have lost some weight- is your face/ jaw firming up, and going back where it's supposed to be? :)

Family. Blah.
I'm sorry for writing a novel...read if you'd like to share my drama/pain. My family...really takes the cake. I don't even know where to begin with them, so I'll tell you about the most recent issue. About a year ago my car died, and I couldn't afford to get a car, so I've been relying on my family when I need to get to a…

Does anyone workout barefoot?
I don't have sneakers, so I've always done my workouts (aerobics mostly) barefoot. Does anyone else workout barefoot? Is it a bad idea to continue like that? I've noticed more creaking in my knees lately, and some arch pain...but I was kind of hoping my feet would strengthen naturally if I continued barefoot.

Turkey Meatloaf for those of us who don't like turkey ML!
I have had a disasterous attempt at turkey meatloaf in the past, and I was hesitant to try it again, but I googled and found this recipe. It's pretty fabulous! 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper (red or yellow) 1/4 cup grated carrots 1/2 cup onion 1 1/2 pound ground turkey (I used .55 kg) 16 saltine crackers, finely crumbed 2…

An interesting (scary?) fact about cough medicine
I have never in my entire life taken a diet pill, because I knew that wasn't the route to take, and the idea was a pretty scary one. I've been sick for the past few days, and for a couple of those days I was taking cough medicine pretty regularly (with DM, Pseudoephedrine and Guaifenesin), and I was wondering why I had…

Ya know, this is the longest I've ever stuck with a "diet".
I was thinking...4 months is probably the longest I've ever dieted in the past (I say diet because that's what it always was back then), and now I'm going on 6 months that I've been here at MFP and still losing. It feels different this time, and I'm enjoying that feeling. For the first time in a long, long time...I can…

Anyone else dreading Nov. 25th?
So, it's no secret that I'm not looking forward to the switch to the new design on Wednesday. I enjoy the food log as it is, and I'm wondering if the change to a design I don't particularly enjoy using will lessen my motivation to use MFP and log my food regularly. Anyone else concerned at all?

Pet PEEVES?
We all have them, so what are some of your biggest pet peeves? A lot of mine center around rude people and rude behaviour- like not letting someone out in traffic, but one of my pet peeves I see here on the board all the time...loose vs. lose. I don't know, but it drives me crazy when someone says, "I have to loose this…

Has anyone else developed creaky knees?
Since I've started working out on a regular basis, my knees have started creaking worse than the floors in a 200 year old house. When I do any type of lunge or squat, the sound reverbs all the way through my body and up to my ears, and it's creeping me out.
