    First half marathon completed! WOOT!

It did not snow as much as the forecast called for, but I'm not complaining at all.

What a feeling as I approached the finish line!!!

I was being nice and responding to people passing by me who finished and were leaving during the last mile when they would cheer me on, and I would congratulate them. As I was leaving though...was I ever cheering on the people I was passing! Funny how that works.

I need to figure out something different for what I wear when running in the cold though. The last two cold runs I have done I started out fine, even getting rather warm about 3-4 miles in and vent the zipper to cool off a bit. Then around mile 5 starting to feel a chill and zipping back up, but staying cold really. By mile 9 it just gets downright cold and actually seems a lot harder to run.

    11/2 - 12.19 miles
    11/6 - 12.25 miles
    11/15 - 13.1 miles

7.3mi on the trails, 800+ft of climb and 15 degrees. The frosty grass crackled as I ran :) Winter running means more trail for me. Will be putting 3-5 more miles on tonight to recover from the hills.

    103.6mi done - 111.4mi/15d remaining.

Congratulations on your first half marathon! I would recommend acclimating yourself more for the next time's conditions... I notice you ran only twice in the two weeks leading up to the half, both long runs. Not sure why you did that, but I'd incorporate a few more short distance, easy runs to stay loose during your taper period. Training runs = more time to experiment with clothing, fueling, etc.

It's been cold here too, but even though i have asthma, as long as I keep my lungs warm, I find I run a lot better when it's cold. So, rather breezy, cold 7.5 miles today. I feel like i could be running higher mileage now, but the stroller is out of the question for pm running (too dark) and i haven't been able to fit longer ones into my weekend due to scheduling. Grrr!!

    11/02/2014 26.2 miles
    11/07/2014 3.2 miles
    11/08/2014 5.3 miles
    11/10/2014. 3.1 miles
    11/11/2014. 5.5 miles (with stroller)
    11/13/2014 3.1 miles
    11/15/2014. 7.5 miles
    Total 53.9 miles

    04/11 - 10.11km
    07/11 - 10.11km
    09/11 - 13.13km!! :D Longest run ever!!!
    12/11 - 8.78km
    14/11 - 10.11km
    16/11 - 11.11km

My first sub-60 minute 10km!! Admittedly my weekday 10km runs have a 2 km-ish section of up-hill and todays run was a flat route so can't really compare the times, but I'm stoked all the same!! :)
And I shaved 20 seconds off my average pace today! It was a good run.....had a smile on my face during the walk back home

With the colder weather coming next week, I'm going to try to buy some more winter gear this weekend. As a new runner, I'm struggling trying to figure out how many layers I will need for each run. It was 46 and sunny when I left this morning. The long sleeve base layer shirt and shorts were perfect. Next week it's forecast to be in the 30s in the morning...I'm thinking a thin running jacket as another layer...I'm worried about having too many clothes than not enough....any advice?

2 layers sounds good for in the 30's with no wind, one layer on the bottom (I wear running tights). If it's windy, I'd add another layer on top.
