Morning,
I got back on track yesterday until after dinner when my husband wanted a treat. I should have said no but joined him. I did do well all day but caved. I was saving those treats to take to the boat show in January for our cocktail hour to share with our friends.
I have to be strong tonight and continue on. The weigh in is Friday people and I know we are still in holiday a mood but we have to stay together and help each other.0 -
Connie, Barbie. Alice and Shirley thank you for a fresh new start this Monday Morning

Happy Monday, everyone! I love all the posts from our thread group and find them all very inspiring and see that we are all in this together. That's huge when you're doing something that takes time and patience. :-)
Marie, I may have to look at the 1:1:1 on the internet, as it sounds like it makes so much sense.
Well, the weather got better yesterday, so we walked for 7.68 miles! That was 900 calories burned. Hoping for a good result on Friday. We also ate well with venison fajitas, and a homemade ham and bean soup.
We'll try the yoga videos tonight.

Hi everyone hope your all having a good day, great to see so many new posters.
I didn't start my day quiet so early today as I wasn't working so didn't need to get up. Had a lovely 4 mile run the weather was very cold but sunny, have eaten good healthy food today but now I'm sitting down in front of the TV for the evening so this is the danger time for me, must be strong and not give in to the chocolates that where given me for Christmas.
Sounds like you have the same problem as me Shirley in that after dinner is the time we give in to our cravings .
OMG my husband has just walked in the room with the chocolates, I know I should throw them away but how can I throw away something that someone has spent their hard earned money on and given me as a present. I think we'll just have to get them eaten before new year and start afresh then.
Good luck all, hope you have more will power than me.

Thank's Marie. I can and will do this. I lost 50lb by Christmas of 2012 and then maintained for a whole year but have slipped a little in 2014 and put 8lb back on but that's as far as I'm prepared to let it go up, I want to get down to 140lb to improve my running which I love doing.
I hope your fitbit arrives soon they are great for helping to motivate us all to move more, I was sad when I lost mine.0 -

Hi everyone I hope your Monday is off to a good start. Yesterday was great it was the first time I was able to run in a long time, and it felt amazing I forgot how much I love to run.

I lost my fitbit on a very hot day in july when I was out walking, it must have just slipped out of it's little holder, my husband had bought it for me for my birthday in the May so I'd only had it for a couple of months.
Great to hear your getting back into running lululovebaby, I love it too I get such a great buzz from running.0 -
lu lu wonderful running again. I do good walking at a snail pace. and then not very far.
I am sitting here looking at our leavless pecan tree with the sun portraying hideous monster in its shadows Strange never notice it before. keep on running Dear.
Marie
hey we have another runner too. Hi Linda sorry you lost your fit bit

Walking at snails pace is far better than not walking at all, keep at it Marie and it will get easier.

Great job to all who have/will get exercise today! One week left on my holiday vacation (I teach nursing at a college and we don't go back until Jan 5. So, I slept in a little, took a nice shower, and walked 6 miles = 771 calories!
My new Fitbit and Map my run app inspire me to do more than I might without them and they both reward you with badges which I find encouraging. It makes it less difficult to say no to eating poor food choices.
For those who are night time snackers, I LOVE making air popped popcorn, spraying it lightly with pam and sprinkling with some salt or Molly Mcbutter or butter buds. At just 30 calories a cup, it's a cruchy satisfying snack you can easily budget into your calories for the day.
A baked or microwaved apple sprinkled with cinnamon is also a great treat. If you have a little vanilla yogurt it's like apple pie alamode!

Thanks for the great tips. Becky on My plan I am leaving off carbs at night but can have the popcorn for a snack at 3 Pm sounds great. Hey it is 300 Pm now time for a snack will have some now with a little peanut butter to get some protein and fat to go with the carbs.
great ideal. The apples sound good to I do have them a few times.

Okay - I'm in...I have more than 20 to loose but this will hopefully keep me on track and focused. Over the last week I have started finding out about the app and what I can do and how to use it effectively and hooked it up with my fitbit. I haven't been religious yet but on January 5th the recording of everything will start. I have already been back at the gym and making better choices but I think I am going to be more successful once I'm back at work and life returns to normal. Looking forward to this journey with you.0
