    @Susieq_1994 Haha, I'll keep posting then :)

Cheesecake is intimidating! Though you raise a good point on the 'what can go wrong?' thing lol

Cheesecake is a huge favorite at my house. I'd like to eventually make a sugar-free one, but you may be onto something with the 'starter' cheesecake-- that seems a lot more doable.

I did try another new recipe yesterday though! I made spiced sweet potato and black bean quesadillas. They're delicious, but definitely a 'me' treat since my dad won't touch anything that hints at being vegetarian lol I'm also making myself some lentil and spinach soup after grocery shopping tomorrow!

Im gonna try that sweet potato black bean quesadilla! I would have never thought of that myself.
That would be defiantly for me since the rest of the household thinks sweet potatos are vile.

I'm weird I only like sweet potatoes in the microwave & cannot stand sweet potato pie & can barely stand it mashed in frozen meals.

i like baking them and sprinkling cinnamon, ginge and nutmeg on them

I do butter, honey, and cinnamon. It's pretty yummy! Not exactly low calorie though...

I do butter, and a cinnamon toast sprinkle that I get at work. It's cinnamon and sugar, with cocoa powder. It's delicious. :yum:

    Yum, that sounds awesome!

I confess that I am not having a good birthday and I am in a terrible mood. I'm going back to cleaning now because it needs doing whether anyone helps me or not.

Sorry. :( Everyone in Mel's house, get a move on! She's Queen for the day, act like it!

Sorry to hear that you're having a bad birthday :( I hope that it gets better for you. I'm sending my best wishes your way!

Thank you. I have nothing to complain about. I lived to see another birthday and I wasn't supposed to see the first one. I have very definitely beaten the odds. I just feel sad today. I'm a big girl. I can survive sad.

Awww I'm sorry, Melissa. We here send you hugs and are virtually singing happy birthday! ❤

    Great news everyone!

My dad admitted to me that he knows that I've been cooking diabetes friendly stuff for him lately. He told me that he was afraid of being put on a diet or 1100 calories like his dad was when he was diagnosed with diabetes. I pointed out that nutritional medicine has come a long way since then and said that I've been cooking stuff that's good for him already so it's hardly 'a diet'.

I went online and showed him his maintenance and 2lb/week calories (over 2k) and offered to help him. Then, he told me that I could set up an account for him on here if I wanted! :D He said he'll give it a try just logging and see if he likes it! :joy:

In other awesome news, I'm finally out of the 240's! I'd been struggling to get past them all last month and today I weighed in at 239 :sunglasses:

Yay for your father joining MFP & congrats on getting out of the 240's!

I ate with wild abandonment during the holidays, stopped logging, kept exercising, and gained about 5-7 pounds. The weight gain was expected, and I'm not really upset by it bc I knew it was coming, but it still sucks bc I had finally made it to maintenance. Curse those delicious holiday treats!

New workout clothes, although the jacket will be more important for running.

Cute! They look really comfortable too!

Confession: I'm trying so hard not to freak out about tomorrow.

I'm hosting my new D&D group and I have to clean my apartment, make food for 4-5 people, and still work in the walk/run workout that I have planned (and have never done before) as well as review the Dungeon Master Manual before tomorrow afternoon.

If you knew it was coming, then you know that tomorrow is a hard reset to lose them again. No big deal. You can do it. I need to lose 8-10.

Is there some reason you can't ask everyone to bring their own snacks? That's how my gaming group works. Unless it is just my family, then I do it all. Is this your first time as DM?

ETA: what are you planning to run?

I've asked them to bring something if they can, but it feels rude to not have something on hand when they get here since it's going to be an all-afternoon thing and I'm the host. And yeah, it's my first time as DM, which is making me fairly nervous already since everyone else is a fairly experienced player and I'm meeting one of them for the first time tomorrow.

I'm just trying to do a run around my neighborhood. Nothing major though-- 4 minutes walk/1 minute jog. I'm hoping to work up to C25k by mid-February or March :)

Thanks Mel :) I'm excited about both of them. It just a bit nerve-wracking that there's such a small time-frame

Happy New Year's Eve everyone. It's going to be a long day unless I take a nap. Got up early, for no reason really. Started some black eye peas for later and started some wash going. I hate house cleaning. It is never ending. Looking forward to my vacation in February when I don't have to constantly clean my house. I may just burn it down when I get back. I know no one will have cleaned before I get home.

This is too funny. Hire a cleaning lady. Best investment ever.

I think she would be scared off the first day...

Mine too. I just have so much stuff that needs to be done, I get overwhelmed and don't do anything, or very little. I currently have a sink full of dishes and I can't stand looking at them, but I don't want to spend my free time cleaning the kitchen. It's a horribly vicious cycle.

I should put a bed in my kitchen. I spend way too much time in there. The sink should have a small depression from where I stand and we have a dishwasher....I just hate waiting for it to get full before running it.

How many days does it take to fill your dishwasher?

So far today, I folded and put away laundry, washed a load that is about to go in the dryer, had two cups of coffee and breakfast, and read morning and midmorning prayer from my breviary. I am off to a good start.

I'm off to get ready for church, one goal this year is not to miss any Sundays that I am in town.

I spent 3 hours setting up mom's new smart phone and smart tv. She now has amazon prime, Pandora, Netflix, a working DVD player. And a 40' flat-screen TV.

Now I'll spend the next 2 days helping her navigate the remotes and the buttons!

    Have fun teaching her

I confess that the RunTheYear website is driving me up the wall. It hasn't stopped crashing and giving errors since the day the challenge started. I paid 60 dollars for that?

I'm happy I picked the cheapest version however it my mean that I get nothing for the money at least you will get something in the mail.

See their emails. They're under a denial of service attack. I'm quite impressed at the email updates keeping people informed
