Cheesecake is intimidating! Though you raise a good point on the 'what can go wrong?' thing lol

Cheesecake is a huge favorite at my house. I'd like to eventually make a sugar-free one, but you may be onto something with the 'starter' cheesecake-- that seems a lot more doable.

I did try another new recipe yesterday though! I made spiced sweet potato and black bean quesadillas. They're delicious, but definitely a 'me' treat since my dad won't touch anything that hints at being vegetarian lol I'm also making myself some lentil and spinach soup after grocery shopping tomorrow!

Im gonna try that sweet potato black bean quesadilla! I would have never thought of that myself.
That would be defiantly for me since the rest of the household thinks sweet potatos are vile.

I'm weird I only like sweet potatoes in the microwave & cannot stand sweet potato pie & can barely stand it mashed in frozen meals.

i like baking them and sprinkling cinnamon, ginge and nutmeg on them

    Never mind.

Here's a confession though. I think I put my workout pants on backwards, but they're too hard to get on and off, so I'm leaving them.

I have done this. And inside out.

I confess that I did eat a little something but was disappointed because it wasn't the deliciousness that has been discussed on this thread like @Susieq_1994's cheesecake or @quiksylver296's spaghetti. :disappointed:

Oh well, I'll make something yummy for dinner. Or go out. Haven't decided yet.

I had beef stew and yogurt for dinner. It was okay, but not nearly as awesome as cheesecake or spaghetti either. Better luck next meal. :p

Beef stew sounds delicious, especially since it's so cold here.

Doesn't it? I'm freezing and it sounds magical. But then, I had an instant mashed potatoes cup for lunch (and will be having canned soup in a little bit) which tasted like sadness and disappointment, so anything would be better. (I've had a stomach bug for the past week so trying to take it easy on my stomach but it makes most of my meals very sad).

Sorry to hear about your stomach bug! I hate having to eat bland meals for any reason, so that would make me sad too! The beef stew I make is totally not the "traditional" kind with carrots, potatoes, and celery though. I bulk it up like crazy with tomatoes, eggplant, cauliflower, zucchini, okra, and spinach, and then I add a small potato and one little carrot to the huge pot. ;) I really enjoy it, but my husband who isn't a big vegetable fan doesn't like it very much. :p

    What's his favorite foods?

    Is he more salty?

He's a meat and cheese guy. Also a cookie guy, not so much a plain chocolate fan. He's just weird. ;)

I do butter, honey, and cinnamon. It's pretty yummy! Not exactly low calorie though...

No team name yet, I just logged in. I'm taking suggestions! Wendy, I'd like to know if you're in too! :) As far as I know it's just Patricia and I right now.

You foodies are making me hungry! It's almost 2 hours til lunch. Knock it off! LOL

I am not hungry but I do want to eat something besides the soup I had for lunch. I may need to go get something like wasabi peas. Just for some texture. :) I am working from home and just pawed through my cabinets looking for something. Needless to say there was nothing. I thought about cooking wild rice but a quarter cup is 110 calories, I'd be better off getting running out and getting wasabi peas. Or nuts. Or trail mix.

I dislike wanting something and not having it in my pantry. Yet it still happens. Sounds you are looking for crunch and extra flavor.

Just raid @italian_buju or my stash of food hahahaha.

I've been using the Walmart grocery service for a few weeks, where you place your order online, and they bring it out to your car for you. It just dawned on me what the absolutely best part of the service is. My son cannot hit me up 100 times per shopping trip to buy him a toy, or Pokemon cards, or Nerf bullets, or...

I'm never shopping in the actual store again! LOL

I took my oldest niece shopping on Wednesday & she threw stuff in my cart, took the cart & went whizzing down the aisle almost knocking me over, & sang as loudly as she could.

    :D

I keep meaning to try this and I haven't done it yet. I really need to get on that! I really like shopping in the store though because I'm a weirdo and I like to see what's new too. Ah well.

I LOVE grocery shopping. Would it be too weird if I said it's the highlight of my week? :D I'm like a kid at Disneyland at the grocery store!

I'm that way at the Grocery Outlet!

I love finding my favorite foods for cheap & finding different foods I've never heard of before.

Have you registered? If you registered, check your promotions/junk mail in your email, they should have sent you a link to get in along with your username and password. Since we have two slots left in our group, you're both welcome to join us! :)

Yes I found the tracker not evidently they are having some difficulty with the tracker. Probably due to high volume of people trying to log on. Any how we will have to wait awhile before we can do anything. :s

So far today, I folded and put away laundry, washed a load that is about to go in the dryer, had two cups of coffee and breakfast, and read morning and midmorning prayer from my breviary. I am off to a good start.

I'm off to get ready for church, one goal this year is not to miss any Sundays that I am in town.

Happy New Year's Eve everyone. It's going to be a long day unless I take a nap. Got up early, for no reason really. Started some black eye peas for later and started some wash going. I hate house cleaning. It is never ending. Looking forward to my vacation in February when I don't have to constantly clean my house. I may just burn it down when I get back. I know no one will have cleaned before I get home.

This is too funny. Hire a cleaning lady. Best investment ever.

I think she would be scared off the first day...

Mine too. I just have so much stuff that needs to be done, I get overwhelmed and don't do anything, or very little. I currently have a sink full of dishes and I can't stand looking at them, but I don't want to spend my free time cleaning the kitchen. It's a horribly vicious cycle.

I should put a bed in my kitchen. I spend way too much time in there. The sink should have a small depression from where I stand and we have a dishwasher....I just hate waiting for it to get full before running it.

I spent 3 hours setting up mom's new smart phone and smart tv. She now has amazon prime, Pandora, Netflix, a working DVD player. And a 40' flat-screen TV.

Now I'll spend the next 2 days helping her navigate the remotes and the buttons!
