1. log everything I eat. I need to get consistent with this. I may have missed something small, but I did really well compared to the last few weeks. Today is another chance to get better.
2. Move as much as possible. Hopefully I will get some time on the treadmill tonight. All I wanted to do after work was sleep. Oh well, missing one day of exercise is not the end of the world right?
3. Relax and deal with it. The roads will be awful, the clients will come and complain about the roads or cancel at the last minute, and we may be understaffed. Oh well, getting upset will not make any of that better. I did pretty well here. All of this happened except the understaffing. Some of my coworkers spent the entire day stressing about how bad the roads would be when we left work. But I was able to keep a sense of humor about the whole thing and I did get some work done that I have been putting off until a less busy day, so all in all I am calling this a success.
Now it's Sunday, and the first whole day to myself in more than a month.
Just for today I will
1. Take a long walk. Or two if possible.
2. log everything I eat. Honestly.
3. Get some of the housework done while I have a chance. I have been relying on my dear husband to do this the last month and it's about time I helped.
Have a Wonderful Sunday!

Joan I love your post!! It is so true my mind can be my biggest enemy sometimes. Everyday we just have to get up and try our best, some days will be better than others and that is ok. My battle is learning to accept that and loving myself anyway. It is so encouraging reading everyone else's posts and how similar we all are. Thank you for sharing!!0

So I met my goals yesterday despite going out to eat. I made sure to get in a long run so I had extra calories. Just for today sunday 2/22
1) my one and only goal today is to stay within my calorie goal. we are having a neighborhood BBQ which is an easy time to overindulge
Happy Sunday All0 -

So a good day. And have to confess am still feeling a bit hungry as I go to bed (no more water as I'll spend half the night getting up to use the bathroom!)
So Monday's goals:
- push myself at bootcamp to burn max calories
- stay within calorie count eating back max 25% of exercise calories
This coming week will be better as I can get to all 3 bootcamps. And I will.
A fresh week and fresh weight drop challenge.0 -
Yesterday, 1/31
1. Get out for a walk, no matter how tired Went on a long 5.15 mile walk today, which felt great
2. Drink more water
3. Keep a positive attitude. Look at the big picture of how I want to feel next summer
4. Get on here and log every bite I eat. Got into some ice cream tonite.
Jan 1 - weight was 200 lbs
Feb 1- weight is 194.6 lbs
My goal this month is to lose another 5 lbs. I am still trying to get back to where I was before Halloween - which was 186.2! I get so upset with myself, I was only about 10 lbs from my goal weight. But, each day can be a new beginning.
So if you guys posting would like to also post your goals here, it might be fun to look back at the end of the month to see if those goals are met?
Just for Today, Feb 1st
1. Drink water - minimum of 8 glasses
2. Drink water in the evenings, as this is my hardest time
3. Focus on the positive, not the negative. 2 years ago I was close to 220 lbs.
4. Go for a walk, or if snowing, get on my ellipitical.
5.
I live it and always looking for someone to share it with
I am down 8.6#
This week I maintained
Some weeks I have maintained but most
Weeks I showed a loss
Twice I showed .5 gain
But I plug in everything
I walk and my calories for the day are
1840
But rarely do I go over 1400
One day at a time

1. Take a long walk. Or two if possible. No long walks anyway. I did get some short walks in plus lots of moving with housework so I wasn't motionless anyway.
2. log everything I eat. Honestly. did this. even when it looked like I was over my goal.
3. Get some of the housework done while I have a chance. I have been relying on my dear husband to do this the last month and it's about time I helped. perfect? no way. but the kitchen is clean, the vacuuming is done and I can find clean clothes.
It's Monday! Just for today I will
1. take a walk. short or long, I need a walk today
2. log everything I eat, consistency is key here
3. Stay focused at work. There is too much to do for me to waste time.
I hope everyone had a least a little success over the weekend. As Joan reminded us, we need to change our mindset. Every choice we make is another opportunity to get it right. And a poor choice is not the end of the world, we just need to make a better choice next time. One choice at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time, we all can get healthier without getting overwhelmed or giving up. The key? Keep working at it, don't get discouraged when you do slip, and never give up.0 -
Just for today, I will
1. Log everything.
2. Stop trying to lose 2lb. a week and go for 1.5.
3. Avoid the elevator; climb the 44 stairs. Twice.
4. Do not skip the exercise class today.

Congrats! That a terrific weight loss for the month!!0 -
Just for today, Monday, Feb 23
1. Drink water all day. Carry my glass with me so I remember
2. Log every bite that I eat
3. Stay positive. This is a lifestyle change - one day at a time. It is a mindset change, one small change at a time. New habits need to take the place of those old habits.0 -
Just for today.......
Drink at least 8 glasses of water (already have 6 done!!!)
Log everything
Stay focused
I have gained 5 pounds this past week. Combination of several things I think. I hurt my lower back and Doc has me on steroids, muscle relaxers and pain meds. No exercise in over a week. I'm a runner and in the process of training for a half marathon, so this is NOT good. I row and lift also but not in over a week. I tossed the steroids as of last night, but still taking the two other meds. I am hoping to at least go to the gym tomorrow and get on the treadmill and see how the back does. I know without the exercise, I need to lower my calorie intake and pay attention.0 -
hello everyone, great positive posts. I don't mean to be a a buzz kill but just need to vent and get this off my chest.
I am really struggling right now. I was tracking all my food in January and then it became so hard to keep tracking I decided to not track in February but really focus on the exercise. I also decided not to weigh for one month since the scale has a way of making me give up when it does not move. I have really increased my exercise for January and February... I weighed last week and I was up 2 lbs from last weigh in. It was basically the same number I started at the beginning of January. I felt so deflated. It even made me not want to keep exercising anymore. Where is the balance? I find it hard to live on 1300 calories a day. I know that is what I have to do but I do not like what I have to do to achieve what I want. I do not need to be model thin either but I just don't want to continue to keep going up in weight. I just want to be around 150... I have like 25 lbs to lose
Just for today 2/23/15
1.) do not give up on me
2.) get on the treadmill and do my exercise0 -
Just for today: 2/23
1. Remember my protein drink before my bike ride
2. Water water water
3. Get strengh training done
4. No late night snack
5. Remember to come back tonight
"Stay positive. This is a lifestyle change - one day at a time. It is a mindset change, one small change at a time. New habits need to take the place of those old habits." Thank you Joan! I love YOUR attiude! You are helping so so many people, It's because of peple like you that makes MFP a success, ****hugs****
It seems like life has some what slowed down. My husband and I bought bike yesterday. So today we're be trying them out! It's been years since I've owned one but with the trail right next door! I'm sure the bikes will come in handy! I've been able to get to an Aqua Fit class at the gym. Tomarrow, I've planned a different class. Since it's extremely cold here, having the gym had helped out!
My daughter should arrive this weekend from her relocation! I hope her drive is easier than my was since she has the kids!!!
Happy Monday, everyone!0 -
Grandma Jackie - love your pic of your new grandbaby, precious That brings a smile to my face. Keep us updated on the bike adventure!!0

Just for Today 2/22
1. log, log, log
2. drink 8 glasses of water
3. get in 30 minutes of exercise I made the choice not to exercise yesterday since both of my compression socks were in the laundry. I felt one day not exercising was better than furthering my injury and not being able to exercise for months again
Just for Today 2/23
1. log
2. get in 30 minutes of exercise

Ruby70 I feel your pain it's so discouraging to get on the scale and not see a lower number. I also struggle with only eating 1300 calories, I am always STARVING!! Just remember when you are working out you are building muscle and losing fat so it's not what the scale says but how you feel. It takes time for the body to change but if you keep it up it will.0
-
Any day that you don't see a HIGHER number on the scale is a good day.
At least for me, with the medical issues that I have--I am thrilled any time I don't gain.0
