    Some things for me ..
    1. My tailbone sticks out and becomes sore!
    2. That some of the things I thought would happen after wt loss haven’t happened like self worth increasing. Or others.
    3. Depression has improved though to the point of not needing the medicine.
    4. My thinking is clearer…energy level definitely improved.

I so agree that this journey is for a life time..I also think the mind has be brought in to the diet. I have a work book that I work in every day and probing questions to answer. Journaling is key ..,and affirmations to say each day… there are so many negative thoughts going through my mind that need confronting…self discovery. “Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalms 139… Another quote

I am very interested in the workbook. I think I'm going to try to saturate myself with positivity and see if that doesn't help! I love that verse in Psalms! I find your story so inspiring!

Ouch those are some rude comments… “you are still fat?” 🧐 I would have to bite my tongue to avoid countering with “True — and you are still an *kitten*!” 🙊

Congrats on your 20 lbs weight loss, way to go! 👏🥳🎉

Clothing size is really a big issue. Can't afford to buy new stuff now (after 20 kg loss) and then repeat in a few months when reach a lower wt goal...so tightening my belt and pants upper edges are like awkwardly scrunched up under the belt...

For clothes, consider charity or resale shops.

Also, those comments, yikes! Not nice!

Is be tempted to "I'm working on becoming healthier and thinner. Are you working on becoming kinder?" . . . or similar.

I'm so sorry people are treating you like that!

Stay off the scale!!! The belt is the ultimate motivator!!!

So true. Have been dieting for a month and my jeans fit more loose now, but haven't lost a pound. I don't understand. So I thought I'd switch to measurements, rather than using the scale for weight.

Mine is the opposite, for months, I was loosing weight in the sale, and I was tightening my belt a bit more, but the pants fit the same. It was weird.

    - having super clear skin! it's incredible how much my skin has cleared up!

    - nails don't grow as fast. (bummer)

Envious of the first one, weight makes no difference in my case!

The second one is a sign of calorie restriction. Probably will speed up again after the weight-loss fase is over and you transition to maintenance.

I lost over 100 Pounds. I'm still overweight but my Nutritionist wants me to stay that way. She says that at my age (74) it's a little safer to have that extra padding.

That's the good news. The bad news is that I waited until I was 66 to start losing. My Skin isn't and wasn't flexible enough to handle the loss. So I now have grotesque "Bats Arms" and sags all up and down my Body.ni2cjit1tt9o.jpg

Netta, truly wonderful and life changing. I started at 56. A little Lycra and nobody except you knows or cares. It’s not like I’m butt naked parading it to all and sundry. 😅

    Can confirm!
    Lycra/Spandex is wonderful stuff.

I love leggings that are high waisted and hold in the paninis (which is slowly decreasing- I suspect in part because of the near constant light compression)
I also recommend some sleeves meant for uv/sunburn protection. Amazon has a wide range of them. Search for “cool shawl arm covers” or “arm sleeves” or anti-sun cooling arm sleeves”

They’re inexpensive and do an excellent job of covering up the bingo wings.
And they really do help prevent sunburn.
Handy on a cool day for adding a little warmth without bulk, too.

@MargaretYakoda i don’t know whether that was an accidental spellchecker delight or a Margaret-ism, but either way you made my day!

    “Bingo wings”?

Not my phrase. It’s what I’ve heard those flappy hanging upper arm flaps called for decades.

I do love it, though. It’s so expressive.

It’s common enough to be in a few dictionaries.
    https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/english/bingy

Long long ago I took some exercise classes where the instructor called them that, and advised laying on your back and doing a sort of hatchet chop movement with a light weight (three pounds tops) to firm up the triceps. But of course that’s not gonna do much for the skin.

Anyway. I really do love those “shawl” thingies. They lightly compress, and do an amazing job of covering them up.
