All of those smiles--that is GREAT!
As for me, still sick...very drained, so I am sort of limping along at least trying to stay close to cals and getting lots of fluids. I did finally get my brocolli/cabbage/sprouts planted!! But as for planned exercise, I think I just have to wait til I am well.
Just For Today:
1. Stay in cal limits
2. Drink LOTS of fluids 4 pints???!!
3. Be gentle with myself, and hubby who has a stressful project due at work on Friday.
Happy Thursday, all!

Hello - this is my first post, so here goes...
Just for today (Thursday 5/28)
1. Eat only what I planned for and brought to work - no extra picking.
2. Increase my water intake (this is a tough one for me)
3. Go home and exercise right away before I get too tired (today will probably be cycling)
4. Plan tomorrow's meals so I don't grab and run.
5. Walk PAST the office kitchen when there is leftover meeting food!
6. Have a cup of green tea or oolong - both very beneficial.
Have a great day everyone!!!0 -
just one today. I will not mentally psych myself out today. I've done it before and can do it again. it puts me one step closer. Just breathe.0

1) Meditate (do a sauna to do this after my workout)
2) Praise someone
3) Get back to my Saturday workouts after being out of town for two weeks.
No sauna, but otherwise, ok
Today, May 28
1) Buy a new blender
2) Ignore the fact that my face is swollen from dental surgery on Tuesday
3) Figure out how to eat nutritionally while I heal
4) Plan my Hydrofit class for Monday that someone is going to observe

Hope you feel better soon.
I'm so jealous of all you folks who can grow your own veggies. We are at such a high altitude you have to have a green house and even then the plants are so starved of oxygen that you don't get many veggies. If you grow anything outside you are just feeding the elk and deer.
But if I did garden...i would definitely count it as exercise, because it's hard work!0 -

JFT - not going to emotionally eat.
Having to get my dad in a nursing home. Very time consuming and emotional. Really hard to keep to program. But I am not going to give up what great progress I have made.
Am only 1 lb from goal!!!0 -

Today's (Friday) goal. work on negating the laziness behavior that has pretty much sunk in, especially in the evenings. I haven't figured out my plan for fixing this, other than just move more and just do those chores. It doesn't take that long to do the dishes, fold and put away laundry, or any of the other myriad of stuff that needs done. Yep apparently I'm in need of some mental butt-kicking to get in gear again. It was working, so it can work again.0 -

My hubby & I went thru that with his dad last year...it was utterly exhausting, and that was minus some of the emotional difficulty because they didn't really even have a relationship! So, if you've had any sort of relationship--good or bad--that would certainly add to it being overwhelming! God's grace to you as you navigate thru this challenging time...hopefully all goes smoothly. Good that you recognized your propensity to emotionally eat--that brings you several steps closer to victory!!! It will be exciting to hear you reached your goal!

I can certainly relate that housework can be blah! Here's a goofy suggestion for you: Have you ever read any of Don Aslett's books on cleaning, organizing, etc.?? I'm sure you could find some at the library. He actually has some VERY practical suggestions for housework--some that sort of eliminate or minimize messes before they even happen. And he is a great story teller--his books are pretty entertaining! Try "Is there life after housework?" or "Done--How to accomplish twice as much in half the time". Something in those just may inspire you!!!!!

JFT 29 May:
1. Eat withing cal limits
2. Drink LOTS of fluids 4+ pints
3. Exercise 10 min.
I actually got in 10 min of real exercise yesterday, in addition to who knows how many calories burned by coughing--someone told me coughing burns 2-3 cal./cough...so if I coughed 6x/hr x say 16 waking hours, that's about 200 cal. Woohoo!0 -
P.S. @bri170: Thanks!! I feel just a tish better...but now it is rainy! That is something else about the high altitude...Somewhat similarly, we live in northern Wisconsin with a very short growing season and where often there are only 4 months of the year that are free of snow!!!0

Hope the surgery went very well, and that healing goes even better!! You are quite the amazing woman, with all of your activities! It is encouraging to know that "life doesn't end after 50", lol! Have a super day!

Thank you so much. We are doing OK. I did get some of my walking in early this morning before I left home. Walking is such a great stress reliever for me.0 -
Just for Today.. I will stop beating myself up for only losing one pound in two weeks. I work out everyday, eat healthy, log everything. So I will not let this defeat me!0

I'm Terri. This is my first post here. I have made a commitment to myself this year to finally get my weight down into a healthy range.
29/05 is almost over so,
Just for today,
1) I am staying out of the kitchen and away from temptation. The kitchen in the evening is my Armageddon.
2) I am resisting eating my exercise calories back.
3) I am going to bed before midnight.

Keep going. .. only 1 lb from goal is amazing. .. I can't wait to get there. Keep the focus and whenever it's right for you to make that final push, do it, celebrate your success madly then enjoy moving to a maintain strategy. Smiles and warmth. :-)0 -
@feistyjojo - thanks jojo. It may be a couple of weeks because we go to visit my son in PA next week and it is always difficult when you are away. But I am fine with that. If I can just maintain or not gain more than a couple of lbs then I will be fine with that. I used to would have used that as an excuse to just throw all healthy eating out the window. But no more!!!!0
