Sylvia..........YAY for your DH!!!!!!

Things are looking up. He is still in ICU but all the tubes are out. He was sitting up eating dinner when I saw him last. His doc thinks they may let him out on Thursday, if all goes well. They still cannot explain why this keeps happening.
The wicked step mother was discharged from the hospital this afternoon, and my son asked me to drop the kids off with her and she is going to watch them tonight. She promised to be on her best behavior. He tells me she's a whole different person now. Against my better judgement, I did as he asked. I think he's being sucked down the rabbit hole again. But I have had 1-1/2 hours of sleep in the last 2 days, so I'm no good to anybody. I barely made it thru swim lessons.
The cardiologist visit was a bust. I drove all the way over there, waited 90 minutes PAST my appointment time, then was told, you will be seeing one of the nurse practitioners today. Grrrrr! That's not what I paid for! They said, if you want to wait another 2 hours you can see the doctor. By then I was about to explode, so the last thing I wanted to do was wait two more hours. Anyway, she said my murmur was nothing to worry about, and everything else looked good, so I can go back to my exercise routine. I talked to her about my goal weight and she pointed out that I probably have 20 pounds of loose skin now, so not counting that I'm already close to my goal. I had lost 15 pounds since my last visit.
Well, I'm going to bed. Good night everyone.

By the way,
Here is a picture of a very old, very ugly lady who feels better than she looks.

Good grief, that is a big picture. Sorry. Too tired to fix it now.

Vicki - great going on getting back into loss mode. I know you have turned your life around. :flowerforyou: Shame.your half brother couldn't make it. One day............
My book does deal with the subject of grief, so I hope it doesn't upset you. With me the trigger was the sudden death of my sister-in-law, who lived with us at the time. I feel so much admiration and affection for you that I would hate for you to be offended by any x rated moments or bad language. But thank you for ordering it, it means a lot to me.
Toni - yeah for doing the class! ! ! ! ! I am right now up again in the middle of the night with an aching hip. I never know what triggers these things, but not sleeping doesn't help. Moving about in the day time I feel fine, but I am often uncomfortable in bed. I have a vascular clinic appointment tomorrow and don't want to be all tense!
Sylvia - just seen your photo! I don't know what you are seeing, but to me you look great with a wonderful smile and some great collar bones! Pretty woman! :drinker:
Love to all. Must go back to bed!

Good Evening Ladies!
Haven't posted in a few days, but I've kept up with the posts which is becoming a full time job!
Sylvia... You have certainly had a time of it between your health and that of your DS. I admire how you and your husband are handling it all and how you step up to take care of those grandchildren. With all that is going on in your life you still find the time to nit only oost but to also bring a smile to our faces with your jokes. Thank you Sylvia, I truely hope at things will get better for you and your family very soon.
For those of you facing marital issues, my heart goes out to you. I know how hard and frustrating it is to be in a relationship, especially when you seem to be the only one who cares enough to make it better. I was in a relationship for 15 years, which ended abruptly almost a year ago. We weren't married but I thought this was the person I was going to live the rest of my life with. My whole life was turned upside down and I am still trying to figure out what my new future is. Four months later I decided to redirect my hurt and anger Into something productive and that is when I got serious about my health. I got on that elliptical and sweated the anger out! I tell people I have lost over 300 lbs. since last September, 275 lbs. was him...
Heather...count me in as one of those looking foward to reading your book. Congratulations! I love the cover. I also hated to exercise and can't believe that I NEED to exercise every day. What a great addiction to have. This past weekend I decided to walk the 3 miles round trip to the post office to mail a letter instead of putting it in my mailbox for the postman to take. I was then able to enjoy a small piece of my DS's birthday cake guilt free. Who is is woman??
Pip...love your sassy comments!
I felt confident enough that the weather here in MA would remain above freezing and decided to get out the spring/summer clothes this weekend. We had a few days where short sleeves were in order. All the pants and shorts are too big (yeah) so most got packed up again. The tops I'll just wear loose for awhile. More trips to the thrift store.
The daffodils and tulips are finally popping out, I think spring is finally here so I was able to get some work done in the yard. I do love the smell of mulch. Jake got his spring bath to get rid of the winter road salt and he does look very handsome. A woman stopped her car in traffic on Sunday to admire him...he's a traffic stopper!
I've been really good about eating well, it helps that there have been no social events for the past couple of weeks. I have used many of your suggestions and they have helped tremendously. I may get a spiralizer veggie spaghetti thingy. I haven't had pasta in months and miss the sauce. We were using wide exercise bands in yoga last week and I decided to get a band so I could do the exercises at home. Went on eBay and got it for $1.04...score! I would like to tone up and maybe see muscles at some point...that would be a first.
Started feeling poorly Sunday night, like a cold coming on, didn't get in any exercise yesterday except for Jake walking. Feeling better today, although my head is aching, think I will go to bed soon. Nothing like what some of you ladies have been faced with lately but I just needed to whine a little. Ok, I'm done...

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding.
Good Evening Ladies,
Meg, glad you made it here two days in a row.
Jane, your answer to hubby should have been, “it’s whatever you are serving me.”
Toni, congrats on your newfound attitude toward this spring. Whatever the reason, I’m so glad for you. And way to go on the exercise and weights. I hate to say that it’s more than I did today.
Barbie, you are such an inspiration and I thank you for continuing to support all of us, long after you have reached your goal…well actually surpassed it. I have to laugh at even the thought of a doctor telling me I need to gain weight. But I can always dream.
Sylvia, I love the picture. You look fabulous!! Look at that neck and arms, and all. Wow. You don’t look old, what is the matter with you??? Maybe you just need new glasses? Lol I hope you feel as good as you look.
Heather, you keep apologizing about the content and language of the book. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m sure when I start reading it, I’ll just get lost in the book and won’t keep thinking, “Oh my gosh, Heather wrote those cuss words”. LOL We are here to support you and not judge you, so try to relax. You also know that some of us use such language every day and others probably have done worse things than the characters in the book. We love you! I hope you are able to get a good night’s sleep.
Chris, if that is all the whining you needed, you are too easy to please. Lol Isn’t it great for clothes to get too big, except for the having to replace them. I love your statement of losing over 300 pounds. That’s a good one. Way to go on mailing your letter. You are the woman!!!!
I don’t know where the day has gone or what the heck I did, because it sure wasn’t exercise. Oh yes, I did spend a couple of hours trying on my big clothes and sorting out my closet. I hate trying on clothes, so it has taken a number of sessions to get this far. All I have left that hasn’t been tried are some turtle necks and some winter tops which I mainly wear around the house. I don’t think I’ll get around to trying those on because I can wear them no matter how big they are. I actually just started out, putting my new things together in outfits to make sure I have enough to wear on the cruise, but I got carried away. Of all the things I tried on, I think I only kept about 4 or 5 tops that are a little lose but I could wear in a pinch. They will probably come out the next time I get in the weeding out mood. The scale had been down another pound the past 3 days and I was going to record it today, but I woke up to it being up 1 ½ pounds. What a bummer. I think that is why I didn’t exercise today, but I’ll get back on track tomorrow.
All of you are such special ladies and I hope your days are filled with joy.
Words I live by:
Savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.
and
Opportunity. Each day offers new opportunities for good health and happiness if we just look for them and choose them.

Sylvia... Very sorry to hear of your son's continued health problems and relationship drama. Get your rest! You will not be able to help anyone if you collapse from exhaustion. As for your photo ... You look wonderful! You are your own worst critic ... And I definitely do not see what you supposedly see.0

Sylvia, you are beautiful! I love that top.0

Came across a stevia plant at home depot. Keep craving anything sweet in the evenings (nothing here but..) so figure will walk outside and pick leaves to chew on - they taste kindof sweet so here's hoping it will disrupt the craving/binge potential.
My youngest son, who has been on the east coast in Navy sub school, is being posted to HI, so DIL& 2 grandbabies are moving back to her mother's 3 hrs south of me. Get to see them all this upcoming month - first visit in 2 years! YEA, YEA0 -

They recommend going to the gym and socializing. I read the kindle version of this book and got it from our library system. I've already returned it so I can't look up quotations or specific answers. The big ideas were more important to me than the details. Things that stood out to me: We need to exercise vigorously 6 days a week. We can get healthier than we were when we were younger and that can last a good long while. (There will be an inevitable decline, but it can be postponed a long while and doesn't have to be lingering misery.) We need to be involved with our friends and family. There were a lot of stories about doing active things like hiking and skiing, and planning fun with people who are important to us. The goal was to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible. The big warnings: Don't let yourself become isolated from others. Connect with family, friends, and the community. Stay physically and socially active as long as possible.0 -
Sylvia, I love your picture. You look like a woman I want as a friend. Luckily, we can be friends because of MPF and this wonderful group.0
-
Sylvia - I think you look great! I think when we are frustrated or upset that we sometimes take it out on ourselves. You have been through a lot in the last few months. You are a beautiful woman inside and out! (((Hugs)))
Chris - congratulations on your NSV! Now you can go buy some new ones! Love the thrift store!
Janet - great answer to Jane's hubby! Cruise! You are so lucky! I have never been on one. It is always fun to look forward to a vacation.
Cory 17 - that is exciting news. Being able to spend time with your grandchildren should be great fun.
Katla - thanks for the feedback. I think I will download that book. I have been isolated too much the last few years. I need to break out and be free of the shackles that bind me to my house!
Have a great night everyone!

Sylvia! How lovely are you?! I'd give you a big hug right this minute if I was anywhere near you. I agree with everyone else here... please try to see what we see. And if that doesn't work, only talk to yourself the way you would talk to your best friend. It all starts in our head, am I right, ladies?
I'd love to have a visit with each one of you... you're so good-hearted. Glad to be in your company!

I am going to have to post more during the day. I can think more and have more responses.
Patricia, Greenville, It won't be hard at all to find some some people here to support you. We are all in the same boat. And some of us, me included, have lost an oar.
Janet, I think you misread my post. I have lost .6 of a pound, not 6 pounds. I would be jumping all around the state if that happened.
Barbie, thanks so much for sharing us your story of your own journey. It's good to know that even though you are our 'leader' that you started out in the plces that we are in and had the same struggles.
Sylvia, how I wish I lived close to you and could give you some physical and mental help. What is your future ex DIL relationship with her children. I would assume that since your son has at least most of the custody of the kids that she isn't that good of a Mom. If something really did happen to your son, would the kids feel safe and loved with her because the courts would give her custody instead of you. I know that's a morbid thought but your son needs to think about this with his particular lung problem. Is a pulmonologist seeing him that you don't like. He needs the best specialist among specialists. You do have a saint of a husband. We here all give him a huge gold star. And you look great in the picture. I know right now you don't feel great but take it from us, physically you look great.
OK, I need to make sure you guys don't have any thing in your mouth such as coffee, wine, anything liquid. I don't want you to spew it all over the computer, your dogs, etc. Are you ready yet??? We took our Christmas tree down today!!!!! Aren't you proud of me. With my brother coming this week and staying here I couldn't have him seeing it up! So thank you Paul for finally making me stand up to my procrastinating and ttake the stupid tree down.

Hi everyone I'm new to MfP I am trying to get to goal , I've lost 54 lbs. so far . I started doingbweightbwatchers then just kept up with my calories it's taken two years . I had a spinal fushion 2 yrs ago I had gained a lot of weight from being immobile and on pills but surgery was a major success so now I am no longer in pain pills and I know God preformed a miracle in my life . Six months after surgery I got a pulmonary embolism which would have killed me if I had not gone to dr so now I'm on blood thinners for the rest of my life they still they do not know why I got the embolism . I am glad to be on this site and meet other women trying to lose weight and be healthy I need to be more motivated to exercise I have a bow flex tread climber but I get bored easily any suggestions appreciated as I need more motivation to move thank you ...0

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding.
Good Morning Ladies,
Katla, thanks for sharing about the book . I have always stayed social but DH has become almost nonsocial in the past few years. That bothers me but he seems happy that way. I’m sure the same things apply somewhat to men. I agree that it’s terrific that we can be friends with people we would have not even met if it weren’t for MFP.
Mary, we are behind you for breaking free of the shackles that bind you to your house. I know that the main reason I don’t go and do more is just laziness on my part. Now that I am getting healthier and have more energy, I find I am getting out a bit more. Feel me *kicking* you out the door. And as I tell my good friend, you can pick up the phone and invite someone to do something with you. Don’t wait for their call.
Selena, you are so right that much of our attitude starts in our head. If we could just get out of our own way, just imagine the things we could conquer.
Joyce, ohhhhhhh that little dot was too small for me to see. I think 6/10 is good. I figured if it was 6 pounds, that most of it must be water weight, but you know we take what we can get. LOL OMG, thanks for making sure my mouth was empty before I read about the tree!!!ROFLMAO I don’t mean to sound mean, but…now I don’t feel so lazy. *still LOL* But I know what you mean about having company. My dear friend that is coming to go on the cruise with me has been incentive to do many things around the house. Thanks Ginny. I’m so looking forward to seeing her and she will be here in just over 2 week. Woo hoo
Allison, sending the best thoughts to combat the troll. Don’t ya just love getting instructions that are meant for only you, while everyone else can do whatever they want? Have you tried killing her with kindness? Sometimes a lot of agreement and sweetness gets to those trolls. Just keep your head up, we are behind you. And as much as you’ll miss DH, try to look at this as an opportunity to feel free and do whatever you want while he is away. Enjoy your tea party.
Tammi, welcome to this group of wonderful ladies. I’m glad your spinal fusion was a success. I had one about 10 years ago, so know what you’ve been through. I don’t like to exercise and get bored with it also, but just like not eating something yummy and fattening, I make myself do it. I do my exercise on my cross trainer in front of the TV. This helps some. I’m not the best one to talk about exercise, but can tell you that it has helped with my back, my energy and my weight loss. Come often and chat when you feel like it. This is a terrific place for support and information.
Welcome to any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.
I’m having my birthday lunch with BFF today, because she will be working on Friday which is actually the day. Tomorrow is lunch with other BFF and Friday DH will take me out to celebrate. I have to say that BD celebrations aren’t as much fun now that I am aware of what’s healthy and how many calories are in things. Ignorance was bliss, but this heavy weight knowledge can put a damper on things. LOL
I love you ladies and wish you the best possible day.
Thought for the day.
The grass isn’t greener on
the other side. It’s greener
where YOU water it.
Words I remember::
Savor. I have to slow down and savor every bite.
and
Opportunity. Each day offers new opportunities for good health and happiness if we just look for them and choose them.

Good Morning, ladies
Quick post this morning for support. Found out today is "Administrative Professionals Day" and the office is having a 'breakfast' for ours. This usually means lots of donuts (sorry for using the 'D' word), bagels, coffee cake, chocolate, etc. I need strength from all of you. Hoping that posting that I will resist and just eat my breakfast I brought will hold me accountable like it's done for some of you. I've posted it so I will do it!!
Sylvia - just saw your picture and you are beautiful! Very attractive outfit, great smile and you DO NOT look old or fat so stop with that talk!
Tammi65 - Welcome! You've done great so far with the 54 lbs lost. Wonderful that your surgery was a success and you survived the embolism.
Ok, they're calling everyone to the conference room for the breakfast. Will grab my water bottle to have something in my hands, listen to the speech, thank the administrative assistant for her work and quietly slip out of the door and go back to my desk away from all temptations!
Tina from MD0 -
Rory – Congratulations on the lost inches!!! Your hard work is paying off, even if the scale doesn’t move I bet it still feels good. Safe travels.
Wow – I am 144 posts behind. Not sure I will catch up today…. I have Dr. appointments again today and then a banquet tonight for volunteers in our community.
Pip – I wish I could ride a bike…there is always way too much gravel on our road to ride – even with the wider tires. Balloon tires I believe they call them.
Anyway…must run, take care everyone.

April goals:
Walk 100 miles, 20 days over 10000 steps update – 79 miles /12 days over
Strength training 3x’s per week update – walking with weights
Finish personal taxes – done, and done DM’s
Finish company taxes and purge office filing cabinet – procrastinating really well on this one

Joyce - your Christmas tree confession is awesome. I can relate as I've done that before. I still have remnants of the holidays that need to be packed up. It's just that those snowmen look so cheery. Guess now that the snow has melted it's time
Welcome Tammi - I've been doing Classical Stretch for a year now classicalstretch.com and am stronger and more flexible than I've ever been with any other program. Workouts are only 23 minutes long, with different island settings and are always different enough I've never gotten bored. I add walking, hiking and cycling for pleasure to that. It's 'gentle' enough (no impact) I think anybody could probably start where they're at and if they're consistent (I do it 4 - 6x week) would see results like I have. It is led by a former ballerina in her mid 60s. And yes, I feel ever so graceful whilst doing it.
Grandmallie - Sorry about the mean girl at work. My sister had one of those and she called her a 'frenemy' (acts like your friend but actions prove otherwise).
Janet - You're going on a cruise? Super fun! I was one of those people who never thought I'd enjoy it, that is, until my mom invited me to go on one she earned with her company. I found out real quick that having all my needs taken care of was quite delightful and I highly recommend it. For a second there, I went into a trance as I was transported back to the ship where I felt so pampered... *shaking my head* Oh how I wish I had some of those lovely and attentive helpers to assist me with some spring cleaning/packing.
Chris - Change is scary, especially when a relationship has ended. I would never have imagined when my first marriage crashed and burned 15 yrs ago how awesome my life would be today. I admire your attitude and believe you will be fine because you are definitely headed in the right direction. (Oh, and the company you keep *nod to all the ladies here* makes such a difference. You're in a great place )
Barbie - Thanks for hosting such a great group of ladies and for sharing your inspiring story!
Yes, after 4 years in paradise, we're moving. We had the option to buy this place, but there's something about not having an independent water source in the desert that just doesn't sit well with DH and me, so we declined. Local economy has gone in the tank and the owner has decided to move back here (I think he knows he can't sell it... banks won't give a loan because of the well situation). So with him moving in, we are headed to another adventure by July. Just not sure where yet. And packing is not the joy of my life. But I bet I can burn a lot of calories!
Hope everyone has a super fantastic day!

A fantastic good morning to you all! It is beautiful here today, and I hope where you are too. I slept like a log last night. When the alarm went off this morning I asked my hubby, what is that noise? Couldn't figure it out.
The kids were in a good mood on the way to school, too. My son is doing well and may get to come home tomorrow. The kids got to talk to him on the phone last night, so they feel better too. Boy, that was a close call. Glad he's over the worst of it for now. He called and said the the numbing effects of the medicine they used for the chest tube have worn off and now he's in a lot of pain from that, but hopefully that will pass soon. Now we will start getting that legal stuff started for the Just-in-case.
At 9am I'm going to a meeting of a group trying to stop the building of a big casino on the corner by my house. Boy, would that be awful. Noise, traffic, crime, etc. I don't think it would help property values to have a casino 1/4 mile away either. The city has already approved it and is actively courting this casino company, thinking it would provide 600 jobs. It's already agreed to annex the property and provide water, sewer, police and other services. I love our little neighborhood and don't want to see it ruined. I had my eye on that piece of property, thinking it would make a great dog park. Darn. We will see what happens. Nothing happens fast around here, so it could be years before it really is built. Maybe we will be retired and moved to someplace tropical by then.
Joyce, how funny about finally taking down your christmas tree. I have christmas lights up at the gallery, but they are just little white ones so I'm leaving them up. They make me happy. My son's ex wife - the mother of the 3 kids - has no contact with them at all. He was awarded full custody when she was declared unfit, after her time in jail for shooting somebody and dealing drugs. The FUTURE ex has one son, age 13. I feel so bad for him because he has a lot to deal with. He is very close to his mother and I'm sure it hurts him to see her drunk and verbally abusive to my son's kids. He's a very nice kid, but I think he's the adult in the relationship most of the time.
Janet, happy birthday! I hope you enjoy your outings with friends. I missed the thing about the cruise. Where are you going? How long? I've never been on a cruise and would like to but hubby hates cruises. My female friends have been talking about taking a cruise together, but so far it's just talk.
Tammi, welcome! I hope you like it here.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments about my picture. The more I look at it, the more I can accept it. At least the woman in the picture is not 300 pounds anymore. I do love that top. It's comfy, lightweight and covers my arms. I'm calling that fabric pattern, fashion camo.
Well, I gotta go stop a casino. Have a great day.

Good morning! I had a good day yesterday (even though I ate a D word) with macros mostly in balance and yummy food to eat and lots of exercise calories left at the end of the day. Because I had all of my food planned, I was able to say "Yes, I have room in my calories today for that" when the lady offered me a D. It was delicious, too! I even invited my daughter over for dinner and a walk after work. I fed her the same calories that I ate and she walked further than she usually does, so she had lots of exercise calories left over, too. I took work home with me (stuffing envelopes is infinitely more tolerable when I can sit on my couch and watch TV) so I left work an hour early to be able to enjoy a long walk without my tummy rumblings overwhelming the birdsong.
Tammi - I had a PE in 2001. I took blood thinners for only a couple of years. I live near teaching hospitals and participated in a study on the effects of low dosage coumadin vs. high dosage to prevent future embolisms. It was such a profound success that they ended the study early. Because there was no determination of what caused the PE for me, my "blood" doctor (who did the study) took me off the blood thinner after a couple of years. All that being said, I can certainly empathize with the terror that goes along with having had a PE. I'm still very alert to any pain in my legs and am very careful to move frequently.
I don't think I've ever talked about the pulmonary embolism here. Let's just say, I thought I was going to die in front of my children while sitting in the ER. I presented with classic heart attack symptoms AND told them that I had a blood clot in my leg. Once I went through triage, they sent me to register with the insurance folks and then put me back out in the waiting room. My then husband was so terrified that he actually raised a ruckus with the staff to get me seen to. They treated me for a stomach ache. Luckily, the ER doc got in touch with my regular doctor (who just happened to be a pulmonologist) and, at his insistence, did a CT scan of my chest and found the clot. At the time I had a 4-year-old and a just turned 11-year-old, one soon to be entering kindergarten and one to be entering middle school. My son would not even look at me when they brought him to the hospital to visit until he overheard me telling my mother that I might get to go home the next day. No one had bothered to explain to him what was going on and, I guess, he thought I had just decided to leave him and our home. When he turned around and looked at me and exclaimed, "You're coming home?!" I thought my heart would stop. I was furious at my parents and my husband! I had a rough recovery because, with two kids at home, I didn't understand the "take it easy" part of the discharge instructions. In reality, my heart did stop a few days later but kicked back in. That was a wake up call to both my doctors and to me that I had to simply stop and rest. All in all, it was a life changing experience for me.
I can't remember the new person from Greenville's name, but welcome to another NC resident! I live closest to you of the other NC ladies--I'm in Burlington.
Welcome to all of the new folks! I seem to be particularly slow at learning new names lately. I don't suppose age has anything to do with it....
Sylvia - You look awesome!! I don't see an old lady and I certainly don't see an ugly lady. I see someone who looks beautiful, kind, and loving. You look darned slim to me!
Pip - My son has both a trail/crossover type bike and a road bike. The road bike goes so much faster and is a lot easier to pedal, but is definitely tougher to balance because the tires are so skinny. I will be glad when he brings the road bike home from school so that I can take a little ride on it. (He broke the other bike back in the fall so I haven't been able to ride.) I'd also like to put it on the trainer to be able to use it in the house when it is so hot outside.
I know I had more to say, but I need to get some work done. Wishing a happy day with good choices to everyone!

Phew! I've been spending most of the day emailing friends etc to publicise my book. I even sent a couple of Touchnote postcards to old friends I don't have email for. It's a great app for sending out your photos as a postcard. I'm sure there is something similar in the US.
Chris and Janet - just brilliant on the smaller sizes! :flowerforyou: Happy birthday Janet for Friday!
Joyce - love the Christmas tree story!
A top I'd ordered came today and it looks fine, but VERY tight......... Shows every little dimple......... I'm going to brave it out, but I will have to stand up all the time! Also the artificial roses I ordered to celebrate our 12th meeting anniversary arrived. They look gorgeous and very natural on our front windowsill. Very rustic! Our anniversary is May 6th and we are eating at Rick Stein's in Winchester for lunch. All fish.
DH is working on his invitations this afternoon. Typing away!
Love to all. I need to get off my tablet. X x

Joyce: Congratulations on getting your tree down! I read your announcement to DH and he laughed out loud. You’re a great storyteller.
Alison: Perhaps the office troll IS your sister. She would be the Evil Stepsister.
Tammi65: Welcome to a great group of women.
Janet: Happy Birthday lunch! I hope you enjoy yourself with your BFF.
Tina from MD: I think you have a great plan for the Administrative Professionals Day breakfast. We had a number of teacher support days when I was teaching, and they likely still do. Every one of them was filled with treats made with lots of sugar and fat. I didn’t do a great job of staying out of the goodies.
Selena: Keep us in the loop regarding your next adventure. Will you stay in Utah? On the subject of dry wells, we had dear friends who lived on Orcas Island in Puget Sound. They had a cistern and a well. When their neighbors ran the aquifer dry by overwatering their landscape, our friends had to have water delivered to the cistern. It was rather expensive and they were pensioners.
Sylvia: I am happy to hear your son is doing better! Yay!!!!! Good luck fighting the Casino. Is this going to be run by “businessmen” or Native Americans? The tribes around here do a great job with their casinos and I’ve never heard a word about increased crime in the areas around them. I did hear about crime of the white-collar sort. I had a student whose mom was a gambling addict and embezzled money from her employer to gamble. The mom ended up in prison and the child spent a little time in foster care. He was a very nice boy and I felt sorry for him. Eventually his stepdad got custody.
Heather: Add me to the list of people who will buy your book. Enjoy all of your successes and party planning.
Yoga today! It looks like a beautiful day outside and I may talk DH into taking me for a boat ride in the fishing boat a little later on. Right now it is only 37F at the nearby airport and a whopping 50F in a protected spot on the deck. The hummingbirds have been visiting our feeders and I need to refill the one beside the kitchen window. I refilled the other feeder yesterday.

Good morning everyone! It's such a beautiful day today! much better than the snow storm I woke up to yesterday.
Joyce - was it a real tree? you could have told your DB that you were waiting to celebrate Christmas with him!
Allison - have you looked around for other jobs in your area? maybe the auto dealership job is not right for you. when the door is closed look for the open window. Do you still need to work? Maybe you might want to give your two weeks notice. if anything that might make them treat you better.
Tammi - I love lifting heavy. I do strong lift 5x5 3 times a week which has given me dramatic results. I also do kickboxing and Zumba on my rest days. There are so many different exercise routines on this site. you have to find what is best for you. if you love it you will do it! I am glad that you are here! come often and join in.
Janet - yay three days of a birthday celebration! Happy early Birthday to you! thanks for the kick. I just moved 3 hours away from my home 3 years ago. my only real friend is my sister in law. I do know some ladies from church. thanks to you I will try to call and make new friends.
Tina - I admire your commitment! you are very strong willed. with that attitude you will be very successful.
Lillian - I hope your doctor appointment goes well. Have fun at your banquet!
Selena - I am hoping that we can sell our house and move from cold Minnesota to paradise! do you have any idea where you want to land? We really like Lubbock Texas. they have real low humidity. it was 89 degrees there and we had jackets on because it felt like the high sixties.
Sylvia - good luck on stopping that casino progress. If it is a for sure thing I think you are right about the property values. I am glad that you will be taking legal action as soon as your son is out of the hospital. You may want to go after joint guardianship now well your son is still alive and well. I'm glad you are feeling better about yourself! you really do look great!Carol in NC - Wow! you have been through a lot. glad that you made it through okay. what a dramatic experience for your family at the time. Since I am on a life change and not a diet I make room in my daily calories count for Special Events & occasions that may come up. the only thing that I do notice is that sugar does not process in my body as well as clean food. you sound like you have a similar plan to me.
Heather - you must be so excited about your book! What do you mean by meeting anniversary? Does that mean that you met your husband and then married him within the month? The shirt and the flowers sound lovely. and with the way that you are going the shirt will probably be loose on you soon. With all of your exercising and walking you are still tightening up.
Time for me to get going with my exercise for the day. since it is a rest day from stronglifts 5x5 I will do Kenpo X kickboxing which I do for stretching and flexibility. with my joint issue and back problem I need to get my whole body loose. That and Zumba really loosen me up. Have a great day everyone!
