Ran my mud run today. Time sucked, but then there was wait time at obstacles and I spent 5 minutes trying to get out of the mud pit. All in all though, it was a success. Looking for my next 5k to sign up for.

I want to take a selfie with someone using a selfie stick behind me. It's going to happen.
How old was she? How much could one possible say about that LMAO?!?! whatever floats her boat!!!
LOL She is probably around 20. She talked about the history of it and who invented it and then the popularity of them. Sadly it was better than some of the other presentations. :x0 -
This is what happens when you ask Macy if she wants to go for a swim, she ran up the deck and jumped in.

Had a blast, got to bring home two silver dollar sized blisters on the inside of my arch. Not unexpected given this is my first exposure to minimalist shoes *and* ran sockless, another first. But noticed a lot of positives along the run so I'm all smiles even still. Ask me in a month if that's still the case.0 -
Peace River Heritage Run ( Harlan Hunt Memorial ) Half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, 5x2 km Team Relay and 5 km walk.
According to the Organizers there were 170 registered runners, ~75 in the 10 km run.
Before I got to the turn I started meeting the faster runners wearing the 10km bibs so I started counting and my placement number was 26 when I got to the turn. I got passed by one long lean guy at about km 8 who kicked away from his wife ( he said he could see me for 3 km's before he caught me ).
My first Official Timed Race 10 km in 1:00:25 a PB for me as my normal 10 km time is 11 minutes slower.
So I guess I was 27 out of 75 for the 10 km race and not sure of my age group placement yet, as they have not been posted. Limited number of volunteers so not expecting anything for a few days.
Placement doesn't really matter, as I read in one other post the persons goal was to- Finish
- Finish Standing up
- Not get carried off in an Ambulance

Was just planning to do my usual Sunday morning dozen with my regular group of guys, but ended up exploring a new suburb and finished today at 15 miles. On the plus side, it helped me get in a bunch more hills, and make more progress towards my monthly goal. With another 6.5 tomorrow I'll be halfway to my target by the mid-point of the month.

@missmelis98 - congrats on the mud run! I have to think that you don't sign up for those with the idea of getting a great time, but having a great time.
@skippygirlsmom, thats' great!
Awesome job, @juliet3455! Knocking 11 minutes off has to feel great!
I went out for a long walk and ended up running 2.4 miles, most of it on trails, along with 3.2 miles of walking. This was my first trail running and I picked a bad time for it. I was swarmed with mosquitoes for much of it, which was all the motivation I needed to keep running, and parts of the trail were tall grass and I ended up picking off two ticks when I was done. Still, it was enjoyable in spite of the bugs and the heat.
Progress: 32.6 out of 50 miles

A virtual race is a race that you can run anywhere and, usually, any time. For example, I paid my fee (which, in this case went to a fellow runner) and pledged to run a 5k sometime between April and the end of July. I generally do them if I can't find a local race I want to run as it gives me incentive to make those miles happen or if I really love the medal.
Here's an example from a virtual 5 miler from Gone for a Run:

So I went out and looked at some of these, very cool. I love that the money goes to charity (at least for the ones I looked at). But I did notice some say they give 10% of the profits to charity and others give 85% and more so I guess you need to watch who you are using. Very neat.0 -

Very true. Some of them are purely for the medal, while others raise money. Sometimes you have to really read into the fine print.0 -
