This thread is making me want a big fat burger! I usually don't eat McDonalds but I will occationally. Last time I went I got their racnch chicken wrap...it had lots of veggies including cucumbers...it tasted really fresh!

I go @ once a month to McDonalds. I get the small grilled chicken wrap. I basically go to chit chat w/ a friend so this is quicker than a salad to eat.

I haven't had it in years and years. Usually it makes me feel not well and I can make something yummy and higher volume for the same amount of calories at home. Nothing wrong with it if you want to work it into a balanced diet though.

I agree. Though I would rather "spend" my calories on a good quality hamburger than one from McD's if I am going to have one.

This. It's easy to make a low calorie burger at home if I want one that (to me) tastes much better than McD's or the like. If I want to splurge and go out for a burger, I'm going to go somewhere with a really amazing one that's worth the calories (and the calories will be likely more than something I'd get at McD's, true). Also, I tend to like going out to eat because of atmosphere, so even if I liked fast food I doubt I'd be tempted.

But if someone likes McD's a lot and finds the calories worth it, that's a different story.

Ya, I don't eat a lot of red meat, but when I want a burger out, I have one of these:

    KOBE BURGER
    CHAR-GRILLED, HAND-PACKED WAGYU GROUND BEEF,
BOURSIN CHEESE, TOASTED BRIOCHE ROLL, ARUGULA,
    PICKLED RED ONIONS

    Nom nom nom.

Rarely eat fast food any more and McDonalds would not be my choice compared to a Yummy Whatabuger. But yes I think it's ok to splurge once in a while.. you just have to know your calories in and out..

I absolutely despise McDonalds, but I do indulge not and again when it fits my goals for the day. My No. 1 is a Whataburger Patty melt!

I'm another for sometimes. In the past if I've been too restrictive I give up. So sometimes is better.

I pretty much only eat fast food for convenience when traveling. So, maybe 5 times per year. I had chick-fil-a and McDonald's on vacation 2 weeks ago. I'm positive I was over my calories for both days. I felt no guilt either time as I was both on vacation and my weekly average wasn't horrific.

I actually prefer making my own food to fast food most of the time. I do like the fast casual (Panera, Chipotle, etc...) though.

I stop eating at McDonnell's when it started making me sick to my stomach. I like Burger King, Wendy's, Arbie's, Arnie's, There is also a restaurant here that is called "Harvest Times" that we go to off and on. When the weather is hot like it is now we eat out. When those days are here I can fit what I eat into my calories for the day easily.

The problem with McDonald's or any fast food for that matter is trying to stay under my meal goals of no more than 400 calories per meal.

They make an Artisan Chicken Sandwich now that comes in at 360 calories. I get that with a diet coke when I get fast food.

Laugh my butt off when an outfit like McDonald's and artisan are used in the same sentence.

I haven't had a McGriddle in a while, but the infusion of syrup into a breakfast sandwich is what Nobel prizes should be focused on.

I've been saying No to McDonald's for about three years now but I am a sucker for fast food. I work long hours so it's convenient. In the past I tried to abstain fully from it. If for some reason I could not I would try splitting my food with someone else and making sure I exercised the rest of the week

If I really fancy something I have it, simple as that. I do my best to fit it into my calorie budget which is usually possible with some planning. The other day I wanted apple pie and custard, so I had it and I didn't go over my calories, I was just hungrier than usual as it had no nutritional value and had to eat less during the day but that's what you have to do if you're on a diet and want something naughty.

Come on, we know it would be under SOMETIMES! Nobody is perfect. If it fits in the calories and even decent macros then why not? Personally I like burgers, chicken sandwich, yogurt parfait, french fries, chicken nuggets... whatever I feel like at the time.

*edit* I also like the salads they have.

I usually save a trip to McDonald's or Wendy's for the times after I am out hiking all day and bank a huge amount of exercise calories. I like the taste and it has some good nutrition but could certainly do without the huge amount of sodium.
I'd have no issue working the calories in more often but most fast food, and McDonald's in particular, seems to satisfy me for an hour or so and then I'm feeling hungry again. If I'm going to be hit with a 1,000+ calorie bomb, I want it so that I don't feel hungry again for hours, at least.

Working late nights at a club (and missing dinner) often leads to a late night Maccas run (McDonalds to those outside of Australia).

I have sat down and wrote down the calorie contents of my favourite choices and figure out what I want with the calories I have to spend. I feel like a little kid haha, how much food can I get for my calories? (example attached, if you're curious)

I eat there more times that I would like. Recently I discovered the grilled chicken sandwich (and I was always a QP or Big Mac girl). I find having the bun, and the condiments reminds me of a burger, and it scratches my McD itch. A small fries does it too.
