Lost almost 2 lbs in the week. I think that's not so bad, given my eating habits have been on and off. I'm really great at packing my lunches for work, but when I go home it's binge binge binge. Something I need to work on! Aiming to be at 171 next Thursday. Fingers crossed!!

"Don’t skip breakfast or skimp on lunch to try to save calories. Research shows eating too few calories early in the day leads to even higher calorie consumption at night, compared to those who ate a significant amount for breakfast and lunch."

    Good Morning All
Mornings are better with friends, friends that help when you need motivation and Support. Each day is a journey
and how we meet the day is important. If we start the day with a positive attitude, good breakfast and exercise,
The day goes much better. When you add a buddy or friend to help support you; the day just gets better.
Reach out today and offer your support or a kind word in friendship and see the positive effects.

Boy do I need this! I just came off a 30-day challenge and am feeling defeated. I lost 10 pounds. I'm so large I should have lost more. But I just have to keep going. I have Sjogren's Syndrome and Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. So I'm doing an antiinflammatory diet.

You can do it!...just try to be focused and set realistic goals...embracing your start weight would be a courageous move... I know how you feel...but once we do it - the elephant in the room gets smaller... ;) and then we move on from there... ;-> Be encouraged.

I did pretty good this week, eating well
    Cardio 145 minutes
    Strength 150 minutes
Just going to add some yoga in this weekend and maybe pilates...

Welcome Newbies and thanks to supersis for the great advise
Cheliebee you are doing great, keep up the good work.

I made it to the gym this morning and I ate a good breakfast, I did not make the best choice for lunch. I gave in to cake. But I will not eat much for dinner and I will do an hour of HIIT to help burn the calories.

It takes time to break bad habits and I still struggle with sweets from time to time. I will not let a slip up destroy all the good I have done this week. I will work harder tomorrow and the next day too, until harder becomes habit.

Increase metabolism to burn calories and slim down

Lean muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you're at rest. So increasing your muscle mass will help increase metabolism and burn calories more quickly. This is especially important as you move into middle age, a time when metabolism naturally slows down and you risk a loss of muscle mass. The answer is to add weight training to your workout routine.

"The body Achieves what the mind believes." Do you believe that you can achieve your goals? If you don't believe it or can imagine it, its never going to happen. When we truly believe in ourselves, we work harder to achieve our goals. Just saying you are joining in will not automatically result in weight loss, you must put forth the effort to see results and results take time. Be patient.

No matter how dedicated you are to losing weight, you will hit a plateau at some point in your diet. . Examine your diet to make sure you’re being honest with yourself. You lose the right to complain if you aren’t eating what you are supposed to. Check things like refined carbs, cheese, fried food, sugar and alcohol. These things will keep you from making progress. Also people who exercise at least 30 minutes every day are more successful with weight loss.
