Boy do I need this! I just came off a 30-day challenge and am feeling defeated. I lost 10 pounds. I'm so large I should have lost more. But I just have to keep going. I have Sjogren's Syndrome and Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. So I'm doing an antiinflammatory diet.

Hi Leah-- are you eating enough protein during the day? Cause going to bed hungry sucks

Maybe not! I figured that I'll bring a glass of milk with me to bed, hopefully that'll help :)

    Good Morning All

The “secret” to losing weight for good isn’t eliminating carbs or eating gallons of cabbage soup. To “Sustained, healthy weight loss comes down to a pretty basic equation: fewer calories plus more exercise,” By keeping track of how many calories you consume and burn every day, you can slim down, gain energy, and stave off a whole host of health problems.” So, you shouldn’t discount this powerful weight loss tool. A focused strategy will help you reach your weight-loss goal. Counting calories and getting active will help. Eliminating 500 calories a day can help promote a one-pound-per-week weight loss along with increasing physical activity. A detailed journal will help you identify your successes and pinpoint where you can cut additional calories or replace high-calorie foods with low-calorie ones. With dedicated work you can apply these truths to lose a pound a week. So get moving! Start journaling your food intake and physical activity daily.
So get moving! Start journaling your food intake and physical activity daily, also sharing your journey with social media helps keep you accountable.

    Current weight (July 8) - 172
    Goal
    Weight (September 23) - 152

I was at my goal weight at the end of last summer and then my illnesses derailed me and I turned to food - the wrong kind - to fulfill me instead of clean eating and exercise. I am going on an adventure trip with my 16 year old in October and want to have the energy to make it memorable for both of us.

    31st July:

Weight goal for this week: to lose 2-3lbs
Weight Lost/Gained This week: 3.2 lbs lost!

Really surprised that I managed to lose 3.2lbs, but I definitely would have lost more had I not gotten sick early in the week and eaten nothing but salty soup, which as we all know, sodium haunts you on the scale. Now I'm really starting to see it fall off, and it's been coming off a pound a day so I mean that's pretty great. I may actually manage to get to my goal in September! woohoo!

    Great job!!!

Way to go Rachel! I know being sick hinders your meal plan, but always do what you can to stay on track.
Most important you must take care of yourself. Now that you are well, get right back on track. Its wonderful that you are seeing changes and as we all know that it takes time for this to happen. Keep up the good work.

Welcome Shannon, we are pleased that you joined. We are here to help, so post your progress and any discussions
    about your journey.

    Make Healthy Eating a Habit

Eating healthier doesn’t have to be overwhelming. If you want to adopt healthy habits that will last, then the easiest way to do it is by making small, gradual changes. Don’t expect too much from yourself too soon—it takes about a month for any new action to become habit. You should also Reduce your portion size, so start putting your meals on smaller plates. You will be just as satisfied because your mind "sees" that you’re eating a full plate of food.
