True Confessions - Don't Judge

I confess I have no friends in real life. It's just me, the hubby, his family and my kids. My only friend is my ex from 15 years ago (we were just in the friend zone - didn't even hug) but hubby is incredibly jealous so we don't get to hang out. I am very lonely especially since hubby and I have grown apart and he works long hours that I can go days without seeing him. My only conversations are in my car to work and on the way home with myself where I usually end up crying.
in my experience friends are over rated... I do have a friend or two...female friends... if the wife knew she would *kitten* her pants then divorce me... it's okay for her to have frineds... BUT not for me.

Yep, small town. I'm in engineering so there aren't many women here to be friends with. The only people i talk to about non work stuff are the 50+ year olds and im going to miss them. Actually switching jobs in a week to a bigger company in a bigger city so hopefully I can make friends there. At 32 I thought I would have at least one friend Where do you meet people to become friends? I'm so lame. I went to college 4 hours away so the distance really hurt those rationships when I moved.0

I don't get the whole thing of spouses being jealous of friends of the opposite sex. Makes me glad I'm single. I was engaged to someone who got pissed because I was still friends with an ex boyfriend. The whole reason why we broke up was because we just out grew each other. But the fiance didn't care. One reason why I'm glad I got out of that relationship. I relate better to guys. I'm not into all that prissy stuff a lot of females are in to. I love my football Sundays, watching the game at a sports bar with beer, wings, and nachos.2 -

are you athletic in the least?
a running club or a crossfit gym might do wonders for your social life?1 -

I don't have time for a gym. Nearest ones are a 1/2 hour drive and I have 3 kids 2, 4, and 6 at home. My workouts are hitting the treadmill when the kids are asleep.1

just depends on how you carry yourself and where you carry yourself i suppose. don't ever say "i'm so lame" like everybody thinks that from time to time and its such an easy pit to get trapped in the more you say it. you gotta keep your head up you know? you find a way to do that and other people will notice it too. just start small. you're here on this site right? trying to lose weight or gain muscle most likely? just keep on doing that to start with. you'll meet some friends if you use the forums easy enough. some of the best people i ever knew were on here and everyone of them probably began as something else entirely. you can do that too.
who the *kitten* are you?
why are you making sense?
and... what did you do with Har - Tee ??5 -

I agree.
The friends I have the most fun with are usually men. Just have more common interests I guess, and gender should be a non-issue.1 -

I feel like a *kitten* *kitten*..my mother texted me this morning ..How alone must she feel and how wrong that she had to, to get my attention. I hadn't realised it had been weeks since I'd dropped in.

Sometimes life gets crazy and we inadvertently neglect people we love. I am sure she will understand. Just call her and tell her you love her
Going over for afternoon tea it did make me feel bad..my mum never texts ..it was definitely a little cry for attention.
The weeks just fly by sometimes2 -
Today was my 100 day streak here. I thought coming back was a mistake. I came back for all the wrong reasons but these past few weeks have proven me wrong. I stopped using alcohol as a coping tool. I've gotten in the habit of logging and watching my food intake but most importantly learning to leave the guilt behind and realizing I am enough and I am worth it. Being focused never felt so better16

Isn't that really out of your control?
Seriously, without clowning... try to stop worrying about what other people think.
Even if they think the worst, so what. If they aren't signing your paycheck, what does it matter?
Point is, be yourself. Odds are,you don't have a personality like Charles Manson; I'm sure you're quite likeable.
Hang in there5 -

I've never been on a date, or have been kissed outside truth and dare, and I'm 27 smackers old. No clue how to get that wheel rolling!3

I was the same up until last year. I can't really explain how it happened, it was one of those rare moments where for once life worked in my favor. Sometimes you gotta just put yourself out there and go for broke.4 -
