Hello,
I know juicing diet/detox has mixed opinions on here and I'm not interested in getting into a debate![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Is there anyone who fancies juicing for 30 days and to share stories and keep each other motivated?
Thanks

Lol juice cooked meat... For 30 days u don't really need it, I tried organise proline powder in some juices for a bit but did not like it.
I did a 60 day juice detox last year and lost over 3 stone and basically felt amazing, my dry skin disappeared and I did not get sick for months after. It can be hard at first but if u get past day 5 then it gets much easier.
It sort of reset my eating brain process, it would get to lunch time and I would get up to go for lunch and realise I was not even hungry, it's just I'm program to eat at certain times, I don't even think I knew what hunger really was, I used to think it was when my stomach was not full...0 -
Sorry, iPad autocorrect strikes again above.0

Why not just focus on whole, nutritious foods within your calorie goal, incorporating a glass or two of juice into your day?0

Bacon juice!
OP, you already know the responses you will get here, so I will leave it for others.0 -

Your profile states that you are a male with about 80lbs to lose. You could lose about 40lbs by you wedding just by setting your goal to lose 2lbs per week and aiming to hit your calorie goal each day with food. Yeah you might not be at goal by your wedding, but starving yourself to try to get to your goal weight might not go well. It will be difficult to sustain long term, and you may end up losing a lot of muscle mass.0 -

OMG you do need protein daily for cell repair. And fat to help the body absorb nutrients. This is just bad

you lost 36Lbs in 60 days? 4.5lbs a week..that's way outside healthy guidelines. You did not "detox". That has been roundly debunked

yes I can imagine this happening, you get the same effect in eating disorders, not necessarily a good sign
I'd advise you read the detox thread

And copying the OP just for clarityHey MFPers.
With the rapid increase of new users there are many posts coming up asking for detox recommendations. I figured this would be a good time to provide some links explaining why you generally don't need to detox or cleanse.
Your body is readily equipped to handle toxins and in the event it cannot, you're in far greater need of medical attention than you are of any particular beverage or liquid diet.
For purposes of weight loss, you're essentially choosing to replace food with liquid calories (depending on the cleanse, but most fall under this category) resulting in what usually amounts to a VLCD. This isn't typically a good idea for a variety of reasons (mood, hunger signaling, skeletal muscle maintenance, performance) and moreover it represents yet another short-cut attempt rather than establishing proper habits.
The intent of my post isn't to insult anyone who comes here with the misinformed belief that they should detox/cleanse. The purpose is to provide information to hopefully save someone the wasted time, money, and potential ill health effects, not to mention the likely weight regain.

I did it last year and kept it all off for 7 months then went on holiday and got back into old habits... I was not starving and actually felt amazing
This is just a kick start and it really helped me with food management and cravings last time.

You may not have felt starving but your body was
Protein is important ..every day ..the body does not synthesise proteins but uses it every day for cell build and repair
Fats are important ...every day
Eliminating both for a few days let alone 60 is nutritionally unsound and dangerous
Please read up about this then make your decision...your body...your choice, but this drastic restriction in important macro nutrients is extremely unhealthy0 -

Thanks for the info, I did not use any paid products, it was just fresh fruit and veg, and to be honest I felt amazing, the healthiest I have felt in years, I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm just going from my experience as someone who has actually done it. I do agree lots are trying to profit withe detox powders and such.

You missed the point entirely
There is no such thing as detoxing the body with food or supplements
Because your body already does the job
Please do read up on the importance of fat and protein and a healthy rate of weight loss
And with that I'm leaving this thread alone..there's no more to add really0 -
What toxin are you allegedly removing that your bodily processes don't already handle?0
-
Don't get me wrong I really appreciate the feedback and I will read into it more but I did it and I know how healthy it made me feel, my skin condition disappeared for almost 9 months, I felt great.0

Correlation does not mean causation.0

How is a 30 day juice fast not a VLCD? I believe MFP has rules about not promoting VLCDs.
Anyway, too low on protein for me for 30 days -- seems unhealthy. Plus, I like eating and want to keep the muscle mass I have. No sense losing the last few pounds if I would look worse afterwards.0 -

Maybe calling it a detox is putting it in a box with all these scam powder things that have popped up, I did it and can happily say it's the healthiest I have felt in many many years.

The word "detox" puts it into a box based on words meaning things.0
