Katla and Lillian, yes they still make padded butts. My mama has one.

Carol, every now and then we need a day of rest. Enjoy yours.

Pip, prayers for Kirby and you.

DJ, prayers for Max and you.

I'm sure I've missed several people, so while I'm at it, prayers and good thoughts for you all!

Love you ladies <3 As I said, I could write an essay, and it would be a long one, but this is not the place.
Peace and love to all.

Had delicious dinner - lamb and flageolet stew. With PILES of cabbage! It was all helped down with a glass of red wine.
I had a chat with DH about our Friday trip out and he was surprised I was thinking of cancelling. I hope I will be in the mood on the day. :ohwell: I think I might be.
Done nearly all my Christmas shopping now. Just a few bits to get - DH's stocking etc.
For our main present we have decided to do what we did a few years ago and buy a case of wines that we would not normally buy because they are a bit above our normal price range. It was a very enjoyable and successful present for the both of us. The Pouligny Montrachet (white) was a knockout! ! I have already asked DYS to get me a "Vin Jaune" from the Jura for my present. :D My favourite wine - a bit like a fine sherry. It might sound as if we drink a lot of wine, but we normally only have some once a week. It keeps! I prefer to have things I either really want or need, or things I can consume. Frivolous or superfluous presents don't do it for me. Hate waste. I'm not keen on toys in general, but DDIL suggested some she knew they really wanted. I am buying t shirts and books as well. They have sooooooo much. :ohwell:

DJ - Hope the news isn't bad. Thinking of you. When I was a teenager I had a beloved Siamese called Oscar. <3 He died a lingering death from kidney failure. I blamed my parents for neglect. A lot of my pets died horrible deaths and it has put me off having pets as an adult. Too much grief.

Afternoon, everyone! Thanks for the kind words about my words. I definitely do not want this group to get involved in the political side-choosing that goes on all around us. I was merely relating my dismay at violence in our world. And this particular type has been going on for centuries, but today with so many people having to divvy up precious and dwindling natural resources I fear this will get much worse. Some people who are hungry and demoralized and adrift will seek out those who give them the illusion of power and eternal bliss and some will become the victims of the power-seekers.
And yes, I agree that we can turn a blind eye to violence in countries that are not our best buddies. The people in Beirut are just as dead as those in Paris, mais non?
So I am challenging myself to not sit by quite so much. Writing to Congress, making hats for the homeless are small steps. I need to make many more steps. I can tell that so many of you do that in your lives by what you post, and that in our own ways we are trying to make a better world. So I salute all the military people, the people who donate time and money to charity, the caregivers, the cooks and the listeners here. And I am so glad we can support each other to be healthier and happier and more fulfilled. And I know I learn a lot from your life stories!
Speaking of which, I am stuck on a plateau. That scale will not budge at all...
    Hugs!

Happy Sunday. I am working 6-4:30 today. Church last evening was just what I needed. The friend that has been in the hospital and her husband were there and sit with us. At first I was very uncomfortable and I was thinking she was going to get up and leave. But with the prayer and lesson she relaxed and we had a nice visit.

Allison--It is so good to hear you are doing things you want when you want. You are such a speical person.

pip--Please take care of yourself too. I know it will be better when Kirby gets home.

Heather--Sending HUGs for you and DH.

Sylvia--How sad that someone has to live like that. Maybe she will be better at fixing it up then she looks. Hopfully the teenagers will help. Makes you wounder what they are coming from that they would be willing to take on the job of that house.

    Pat--Beautiful flowers.

Joyce--I pray you can not get it. I would talk to the doctor and then decide about Thanksgiving.

Well I am caught up and so going to sign off and see about getting some work done. Our count at the hospital is really low so not a lot going on. I did get my letters written for donations for the New Year's baby. I had decided I wasn't going to do it this year and one lady brought me a daiper bag she made and said how neat she thinks it is that the New Year's baby gets a gift, so I am doing it as I believe that to. DH cleaned the carpets yesterday and took down all the curtains and got them washed while I was working. Today he is putting things back and getting started on some Christmas gifts for the grandchildren. Once he is done with his part I can do mine and get them finished. Getting a late start. Take care ladies and remember we are not in this alone. Love and pray for each of you.
    Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND-NE

Sylvia - OK, guilty as charged and this isn't the place or time ... sorry - just get a lot about last POTUS from DS, so that will be kept between us and not here. Didn't mean to offend.

Pipcd34 - glad they found the clot, that could have been really bad. Y'all both have suffered great pain and suffering and loss of time, together and loss of income. Sure hope that the insurance company takes this into account when they start trying to settle.

Katla, Lillian and Dr.KatieBug - I think the catalog was from Frederick's - we use to laugh about them; but, some padding in the butt would be a little nice now - like in HS. But, I will never have the size nor shape I did as a teenager after giving birth to 2 children. My MDGD is so self-conscious about her lack of a butt and we laugh saying they make padded panties.

    I'll be 'out' for a while ...

Night, night. <3 Going to set my alarm. :)
I'm not even going to try to exercise tomorrow. DH is going to do a short one, but he doesn't have to wash and blow dry his hair and put his face on.

Pip that is what DH had to be on to get rid of his clots. His had gotten into his lungs before they discovered them. DH became so short of breath he could not walk across the room without getting out of breath. This was a man the week before would run a half hour to an hour everyday. Glad they found them in Kirby before it got worse. Now DH is on a pill twice a day. We are waiting to find out when they will do surgery for his kidney cancer. DH had to do the shots for about a week. That is the one the prescription was not clear. The strength was off, so ask questions if you have to have it filled once Kirby is home.

Pat - Precious, precious pic of the great-grandson. What a doll baby. Thanks for sharing.

Yesterday and today I actually began to feel human once more. I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes today and am back to logging my food. I am up approximately 6lbs. :( I am going to try to go to water aerobics in the morning if the weather is not so bad they close the pool. We are supposed to get heavy rain all night and into the morning. If there is lightening with it, the pool will be closed. I have GOT to get back into my routine. Feeling totally out of whack.

Jack and I will take the motor home and leave this coming Saturday to head to Southeast Missouri to his Mom's as his brother has to have a skin graft on the skin cancer place they removed from his shoulder. Mama Smith cannot stay alone so we will need to be there. Its about the size of a softball and is just totally open and raw. It's a horrible sight, yuck. Thank you all for your kind words and concern. So very thankful to be feeling better.

@TerriRichardson112 My men are in the Navy. So my husband has put 20 yrs in, retiring from being a Operations Specialist Chief Petty Officer. Both my sons are in the "air Navy", and are in aviation jobs. Back when we had the picture taken, eldest son was working on helicopters, and middle son was working on jets. Presently they are both working on jets, and will soon be out to sea along with my DIL. All three of them are on different ships, so Christmas will be kind of non-existent. Once we get each of their ships addresses we shall be sending boxes though :-) Yep I am proud of each of them!

Janetr - I'm glad that you are getting back to normal! Don't worry about the 6 lbs. probably won't take you long to lose it! The water aerobics will help loosen you up!

Katla, Barbie, Mary - thank you all so much. I'm excited just to get back into my routine and moving. I know I will feel better then.

Jack has been working on the motor home. He is taking the smaller of the two couches out and putting in two Euro recliners. He's also been working on some of the mechanical things just to make sure everything is in the best possible condition. I don't think there is any thing he can't fix. So handy. :) We will be going to Apache Junction AZ right after Christmas and stay 5 to 6 weeks. I'm excited.

Did an hour of a yoga, pilates, cardio fusion DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do some of a yoga DVD, hold my plank, then take the extremepump class. I have to also stop on my way home from exercise and pick up one of Loki's meds

Sharon - you asked if I'd miss my rings. To be honest, I'd really rather my daughter be happy and if having them makes her happy, then that's what I want. but her having them is not to be, so oh well..... Glad to hear the cancer markers came out good. So sorry about dd's friend's father.

Remember I told you about the lady who fell last night at the social? Well, we called her hubby. He sounded really tired. He said the hosp gave her some pain pills and released her at 4. Later she tried to get up to go to the bathroom and fell. I'm guessing that the pain pills wore off. He couldn't pick her up so he called the EMT. They got her in bed and told her to take lots of these ibuprofen. Really, it's not my place to say, but you shouldn't be taking ibuprofen for extended periods of time. Vince said that he's heard from her that they won't do knee replacement until she loses weight. Why she's not trying is beyond me. I realize that she has a thyroid issue which makes it hard, but from what I see she has to eat at Mexican Train, she's really not trying. I would think that being able to see your children/grandchildren would be motivation. Right now she really can't get into her children's house. But it's not for me to say what she should do

Soraya - Am I wrong, wasn't there talk at one time about the Catalan's wanting to break free of Spain? What ever happened with that?

katla - I agree with you, this group is so very diverse. There are all diofferent types of people/schools of thought. Someone will mention something that you never thought of. To me, that is one of the greatest things. We're all trying to get the same thing (I know I've said that wrong, I mean a healthier lifestye but yet not completely eliminating something <like no parties> and how we each cope with things). I'd never heard of that reflective spray, but it sounds really good. I googled it to see how long it last before needing to be reapplied. I really couldn't find much but someone did say that after a year it still had reflective properties. Not sure if it's as reflective as when it was first applied, but what a good idea!

pip - I do hope Kirby isn't developing a clot. Vince developed one about 25 years ago when they did an EP study on him the first time, and ever since then he's been taking Warfarin just to be on the safe side that he doesn't develope another one. Update: oh, pip, I'm so sorry that they found a clot, but at least they found it before it got too large or broke off and traveled to his brain or lung or heart.

fearlessfaith - welcome! Don't mind one bit if you join in, glad to have ya

Tomorrow senior bowling and then ceramics then mahjongg

forgot to mention that I wasn't real thrilled with the one chocolate cake that I made for the wedding cake. To me, it just wasn't very "choclatey". Well, I'll let them try it, maybe they don't want something real "choclatey". So today I made another one that I know is much more choclately. Only I've only ever made it in a bundt cake pan so I had no idea how it would turn out in a regular cake pan. Didn't come out bad, but I think maybe next time I should bake it for a little less time.
