Veggies have sugar, even dairy.
This person stated cutting out sugar completely (not cutting back).

I have never heard of anyone completely cutting out sugar
Can it be done? Even for a day?
Tell me your experience going 100% without a drop of sugar for a day or longer.
Note: I am at around 50 grams of sugar a day

Does this include not listening to A Levine?0

What do you think?0

Hey S-U-G-A-H!0

I am not good to ask. I ate three chocolate bars today. (Within goal). Gimme sugar!0
-
It might be a fun experiment, but I'm not convinced i need to change my sugar intake at all. I am quite happy with my results, and that's with a diet that is inclusive of anything i want.0

Nope! Enjoy bananas too much0
-
Well, no ADDED sugar is easy. I'm usually around 25-30G/day.0

Technically, all carbohydrates are composed of sugar molecules (glucose, fructose, galactose, ribose) linked together. I don't see how someone can go completely sugar free without going carb-free (but that is because I consider carbs to be super large sugar molecules). If someone considers sugar as only mono or disaccharides (1-2 molecules of sugar linked together), then I can see how someone can go "sugar free."0

Personally, I wouldn't want to spend a day without sugar. Nor do I need to.0

The only way to eat no sugar is to eat all meat.
I'm a vegetarian. Ain't happening.0 -
I see no point. My day would be less healthy without vegetables, fruit, dairy, sweet potatoes, etc.
No, normal keto doesn't cut out all sugar.0 -
I don't even think it would be possible for me. Plus, honeycrisp apples are happening now, so so good.0

Keto is low-carb (typically less than 20-40g of net carbs a day). Under the physiologic effects of keto, I could consume 10g of starch (300+ glucose molecules linked together) or 10g of sucrose (table sugar) and would continue to be in nutritional ketosis. Sugar is often considered a subcategory of carbohydrates.0 -
nope. I'm sitting here eating chocolate chip cookies while I read this.0

No thanks, I like fruit, veggies, other carbs, and especially sweets. Hasn't hurt me.0

I've done it a couple of times. 24 hour fast with just water. Most miserable times in my life and did it in my 20's as a challenge. I basically slept almost all day.

Yes, I could go a day without eating anything. That isnt really the point though. Really, you only need to focus on reducing refined, added sugar, or eating less carbs if that helps your goal.0

OP, nobody completely cuts carbs out.0 -
I'm eating an ice cream sandwich as I type this. Sugar is nothing to fear, carbs are nothing to fear ( unless someone has a medical condition )
So I wouldn't have any reason to want to cut down on sugar. I eat everything in moderation . it hasn't stopped my progress any.
I wouldn't reccomend someone to eat all ice cream every single day, but I also wouldn't reccomend someone to eat all lettuce every single day either. It comes down to moderation .0 -

This is what I was thinking. I don't see how it's possible.

veg and fruit are very nutritious...so I wouldn't even bother trying...it's ridiculous.0

For a single day? Indeed I can, and in fact I have! In some dark times as a student, the day before student loans came in, all I had was four steaks and I ate them all.
The morning bowel movement the following day wasn't especially fun, but I didn't feel even remotely bad on the day itself. Bit of a meat sweat going on, but that's it.
I do not recommend this as a long term strategy to anyone0 -
I do it sometimes, but that's just because I'm in a meat mood. Although I do keto, I still get a few carbs and carbs are sugar. I don't really do added sugar though. A touch here and there, but sugar is a trigger food for me so I avoid.0

yup i could go a day without sugar of any kind but, it would require me to stay in bed for the whole day!
there's just no way i could totally go sugar free when even the 2% milk i put in my wake-me-up mug of coffee has a gram of sugar in it!!
i gave up my 1/4 cp of added sugar in my mug of coffee and try to avoid some things with added sugar in them but, there's no way i am given up anything else with non added sugar in it for even an hour, let alone a day.0 -
My answer is no and I wouldn't want to.0
