Latest teenage drama: someone at school stole DS's phone. DH found it on "find my friends" app, chased it down. Unable to get it back, so now at Verizon to disconnect and get a new phone. At least he survived chasing down criminals in Milwaukee. Hugs and Prayers for all ! ! !

Off to put gas in the truck and buy some lottery tickets for Wednesday night. Once it's past a billion, you know, we're talking about real money... >:) And yes, I know, I'm more likely to get struck by lightning. If given the choice, I'll choose getting struck by the lottery. Just saying.

Staying at the warehouse tonight, and going to try to cook scrambled eggs in a toaster oven. If that doesn't work, there's always the microwave. :)

Love y'all - did copy out the bios, and thanks, everyone, for writing them up. I learned so much about everyone, and April will be a year I've been here!

Beth enjoy the lake effect snow, nothing like it..Where I live in Westchester county ny we might see a "snow Shower" Tuesday nite and that will probably stop the highways and close the schools! We are snow wimps. Good for you on tucking that carrot cake away, I'll bet it freezes really well. And just like you, I only clean up really nice for company, so you got a bump out of that and can sit back and enjoy the clean! o:)

Me too, When I read it, it felt like a punch in my stomach. We some times don't think before we speak.

Good evening! My eye surgery went well, I guess. I'm not a fan of the way this doctor does it, though. I'm of the opinion that if surgery doesn't have to hurt, it shouldn't. This one was painful and stressful. Tomorrow, I go back for the recheck and, as far as I know, have stitch removed from my eyeball. Not a happy camper!! Just hope it works after all of the misery.

My son started classes today. I was asleep when he got home this afternoon and now he is at an evening class. I'm not sure if I will be alert enough to hear all about it tonight or not.

Don't really have a lot to say. Kind of down--hopefully just a result of the surgery. The death of David Bowie has made me a little sad, too.

Betty ROC wow, you've been to 44 states! That's a lot of travel compared to me. When I retire from teaching I would like to have a snowbird place, that way I can live in the northeast for Fall, Late Spring and Summer and somewhere much warmer for November through April. Big dreams, little money.... :s .
I know that I need culture, and people and concerts, and ocean, so we may end up in Charleston, SC or Brevard, NC or Gulf Coast of Florida but that is many many moons away from now and you just never know what is ahead
I know the feeling of ""Big dreams, little money" all right! I have done a lot of traveling but lots of it has been the old-fashioned road trip type. In the older days we would camp occasionally too. Now I am not sure I want to sleep too far from the "facilities"!
I also have considered the snowbird idea but have a couple more years to think about it. Spring, summer and fall in my area are just gorgeous and I would really miss that. Winter and gray skies not so much. I love the beach but after seeing the Sandy devastation that kind of cured me of wanting to live right on top of it. Just as well as I think we could afford only an outdoor shower with no house to go with it!!!
Considering how my life has been the past couple of years it is too confusing to think too far ahead because it is sure to change.
Went back to the Y for the first time since before Christmas and I sure hope it tuckered me out enough to sleep...

It's nice if u can like your doctor, I just want good!!! I don't plan to sleep with he/she. Sorry it hurt, is it cataracts??? My hubby had them when he was 40, meds caused them. Good luck!!! Gayle Minneapolis

Gayle - Yes, it was cataract surgery. The doctors are hoping to improve my overall vision in my left eye with the surgery. I had the right one done two years ago after detached retina surgery. The one two years ago was quick and painless. This one was not. I would have preferred to use my original cataract doctor but he was out of network for insurance. I shouldn't have to see this guy anymore once follow up visits are done. He is a cornea specialist and I need a long term retina specialist (my regular one moved away).

I just had a thought. What if we ALL reintroduce ourselves at the first of every month so the new ladies wouldn't feel so lost? They wouldn't have to feel like the nerd at a cheerleader convention. Maybe we wouldn't feel like such a clique. We all know each other so well it must be hard to jump in.

    Okay, my turn!

I am Elaine, live in Lansing, Michigan (the state capital. I have been a single mom for the last 13 or so years, after having 8 children. The youngest was 3 at the time, he's now a Junior in high school! I now have 7 grandchildren, with one more coming this April.

I work for the State, we're highly involved in an ecumenical, charismatic community as well as our church.

I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2010, and went through too many years of denial and rebellion. Last year I (re)discovered MFP and discovered this lovely group of people. I currently weigh about 187 and want to lose about 50# in order to improve my health and maybe reduce the diabetes. I would love to reach a point of reducing the medicine I'm taking. I am finding that logging my food is eye opening and I'm making progress in that area. I was walking home from work until the darkness and ice hit the streets. I am leary of potential falls, as I have broken my right ankle twice when slipping on ice. I also had another fall in September 2014, leaving me with a broken wrist that time.

Good evening! I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to keep up with all the posts and it will take me a year to learn names, locations, etc. I'm Sharon, too, (or is that three or four?) which might be confusing, so feel free to stick with my screen name if it helps. I live in Maryland, north and west of all the big cities and trouble. I've been here for almost 30 years, so I suppose this is home now.

I'm officially jealous of Betty ROC, who lives 300 miles closer to my daughter, the grands, my sister and a few more pieces of the family. If I thought I could find a job up there, I'd trade places with you! I grew up in Rochester and the western suburbs.

I dragged my tail to the gym tonight after work. Endurance might have dropped off since I gave myself a holiday break, but pace is still there (pitiful as it is) so my 5k time is still one hour. Hope to get that down some over the next couple of months.

Here she is! All 4.5 pounds of her! She was at a rescue facility with her siblings. Someone dumped them at a goodwill in the bottom of a box full of clothes. We think she's part beagle and jack Russell. She's a live wire!
