Yep, CICO needs to be my mantra, followed by my magic number of 1200 of those calories a day. Those are the only things that really work for me. Day in and day out.
Happy anniversaries and birthdays to all involved!
    Good job, Celtic girl!

Joyce and Barbiecat – I hate the darn calls that are either political or someone trying to sell your something, or worse, trying to figure out when you are home, so they can call again later. We do NOT answer out-of-state calls, calls that don’t identify who is call such as unavailable [If they are ‘unavailable to us, then we are unavailable to them. We do; however, pick up the cell phone calls because they might be a potential customer for my client. I, too, hate the ads, all lies. Watched the Republican Debates. Was interesting until they started ‘in-fighting’. Won’t watch the Democrats’ Debate because Hilliary is a liar and cheat and Bernie Sanders is a Socialist. I still have not decided who I want to vote for. We certainly need a change. Can’t believe in either of them because they really think that ‘Big Government is for stupid people who can’t make decisions for themselves. As a Senior (sort of) and have Medicare and Social Security ‘robbed’ to put in more money for Medicaid and other ‘slave the poor and enable them to not seek employment’ should really be abolished if they can’t figure out how to make it once again something to help one over rough spots and encourage them to find a job’. I believe in drug-testing those that are on Medicaid or receive food stamps. IMHO.

KJLaMore – I went through early menopause at 35 when I had a complete hysterectormy and after not taking the hormones because they made me a *kitten*; I have had a much better time of it. Right now, at 64, I think that the ‘hot flash’ phase has started.

cityjaneLondon – I had ½ of a ½ serving of shrimp fried rice and was ‘surprised’ that it was 300 calories.

Mary from Minnesota – Cracker brings me a lot of job because I am home all day; she is a bit hyper; but, I think that is the “terrier” in her (both Rat and Jack) ergo name of Rat Jack. She loves playing with toys and throws them up in the air and catches them. Today I am going to buy her a canvas toy because they are indestructible. If it has stuffing in it, she chews them up. Before feeding her, she has to sit and wait until we let her ‘ok’ before she can eat it. I feed her twice a day; and, then sometimes my husband feeds her an extra serving. She still things she is a lap dog; but, is twice the size of a lap dog. Taking her in Saturday for her 2nd shots and getting her nails trimmed. The only time she rolls over is when I am drying her with my hair dryer after a bath she hates. I have found that she is a lot calmer if I get into the bathtub with her in 2” of water; then, I have to take a shower so I don’t smell like a dog.

Celtikgirl – If your MD has a weight loss program, insurance normally won’t pay for it as they few it as a personal choice. I’ve thought about trying to see if I can submit it directly to my BC/BS and by-pass Medicare – maybe they’ll give me just a little of it back, since I was doing it for health reasons. I’d have to get my MD to do something so that the codes would be medical instead of using their codes which are altogether different. I need to call them and find out if they will consider paying for it. It’s expensive; but, when you get it in your head that you are also getting the products, it isn’t so bad. I’d spend more buying food for 2 weeks than for this. I can still have one meal that I cook and since DH eats his big meal during the day … I cook my big meal during the evening. I lost 7lbs during my first weigh-in and my second one – two weeks later. I don’t weigh myself during the time. Any way our scales are not consistent

    Stronglifts rest day

    Goblet squats-3X7X 25
    Kettle bell swing-20 2X9X 25

I have increased my reps again today by one. I will see how I feel by the end of the day. I may go back down if my body reacts in a negative way.

Grits - surprised in a good way, or surprised in a bad way? Fried rice is always a no-no as it soaks up fat. :'(

Munching my carrots. :ohwell: Going to have garlic prawns in scrambled eggs in a minute. 300 cals. Then later I will have tomatoes, garlic and basil. Do you think I like garlic?
I will then have enough cals for a small portion of cheese. Not enough cals for alcohol, thank goodness.

The loaf looks beautiful. Expecting a phone call from DH later to say he's setting out from his sister's. Hope his visit to his aunt went well. I was a bit worried about his sister driving as she had a micro sleep last year when I was in the car. It happens occasionally. :ohwell: I told him I would prefer him to drive the two of them, but he thinks he's doing enough driving to get to her house and back. I will be happy to have him back safe and sound.

Thanks! I took baby steps to get to where I am now. So you can do it too!

Lenora - that's a good idea about getting a canvas toy. I will have to try to get one the next time I go shopping. Shep likes to rip apart the stuffed ones as well.

I would love to but I blew my engine and we are waiting to purchase until my DH decides whether he is going to retire April 1. Meeting during the week really works best for me rather then on weekends. Even if it is during the evening. I would love to get together with you ladies again!

    I need accountability here!!!!!!

    2016 Goals :
    1. Log food daily...daily...daily (mantra like chant)
    2. Cardio exercise at least 3 days a week
    3. Drink at least 2 glasses of water daily (I am a hot tea drinker. So, I'm giving up a cup and adding the water...baby steps!!!)
    4. Create a reading list and actually read the books
    5. Work at implementing a more healthy life/work balance (Is there truly such a thing?)

    Hi gals,

Joyce – was just at olive garden – minestrone soup 110 calories! Yummy! I did soup and salad – salad was 140 – so that made lunch 250 and each bread stick was 140 – so a whole 2nd salad or one lousy bread stick.. that made me stay away from the bread sticks….

Heather – LOL we can still be teens! And last night was the night I was up until 2am reading!!!

Grits – remember no politics – I’ll not bother you with mine, if you’ll not bother me with yours.

Pet toys – there is a brand called “un-stuffables” which is like a regular stuffed doggie toy without the stuffing, they are a bit more $$ but Levi shreds a regular toy in 30 minutes and the un-stuffables last a number of months…

My dog Tasha must be really weird. She won't play with toys, won't fetch, and hardly will eat any treats (except human food).

I think dogs are similar to people in that they have a mind of their own. I can't believe that my nine week old puppy will run after a ball pick it up run back to me and drop it for me to throw again. I have had several dog throughout my life and he is the very first puppy that has ever done that without having to be trained. As well as his jumping off the ground with all 4 feet. To me it seems as though he is 10 years old and already knows all these tricks.

Miriam ~ My pom won't eat dog food (and I've tried it all). He eats boiled chicken, pork, or beef. During the past few weeks I have been able to mix about 1/4 c. of Royal Canin for Picky Eaters into the meat and at least once a day he will eat it. Won't eat treats either.

Pom, Pom, Pom, Kay! So many of you with poms.

Every time I read that word, I see an r and an n instead of an m. I really need to get my eyes checked.

Actually, that is what my cat is like. Doesn't like toys, catnip, or most treats. Does like freeze-dried turkey which is the dog's treat as well. Max (the cat) growls and runs to the door when someone rings our doorbell. I think since Max was raised with Merri he thinks he needs to act like the dog. Perhaps Tasha is trying to be a cat.

DH just rang to say he is setting out from his sister's. It's 8.35 pm. Two hours+ to get home. On the way from the aunt's they had to take an hour detour as a main highway was closed. Poor things. His sister has given him a snack to eat in the car. ;)

I still have my cheese cals to eat so not doing badly. Glad I've negated last night's mini binge. :D Good tv on soon so I'm happy.
