It was decided in another thread that a discussion around Oreos is in order so here goes.

First, the original Oreos are perfect. No other variety comes close. They have the perfect ratio of cream to cookie and the cookies 'n cream flavor is perfect just the way it is.

Now, if you're at someone else's house and all they have is double stuff, the good news is that while these are entirely subpar to the original, they are still fabulously delicious in a distant second place. The same can be said for peanut butter and brownie batter.

Also, Jugg is wrong because mint Oreos are disgusting sacrilege.

The only people I know this passionate about cookies are pot heads, were you high on posting?

The only people I know unable to enjoy simple pleasures and have a good time without altering their brain cells are pot heads.
    Are you high on posting?

And no, I've never so much as touched a joint.

ETA: But seriously...no one needs to be high in order to love Oreos.

Lighten up dude it was a joke.

    #sarcasmfail

Granted it wasn't the greatest but I do think he got a little butt-hurt over nothing.

I think you were both being sarcastic and both failed at recognizing to some extent.

But enough of that, more oreos...

I'm just arsey because I'm ceoliac and don't get to eat Oreos. This is what happens after 5 years without a decent tasting cookie..

Have a handful of nuts. It's totes the same.

I never get dessert at the cheesecake factory. The main meals are too filling...I'll have to correct this when I fly back home in August. Perhaps I'll just get a starter to save room for the cheesecake, and coffee.

I usually get the Mexican lettuce wraps... they're only like 260 calories and surprisingly filling. Then I can fit a piece of cheesecake (or half).

    Good idea.

I have to say, this thread is full of good ideas and the best food porn I've ever seen. Big thumbs up to you all :D

I finally went to look for Oreo's last night and...nope just a disappointing selection. But I went to Target today and they had the Thins. I blame this thread.

Some of us realize that we can have our deficit and Oreos too. ;)

ETA: Or maintenance/bulk as the case may be, 'cause ya know not everyone on here is here to lose.

I see. If you're looking to gain fat, Oreos are definitely a good choice. Thanks for clarifying.

Fat doesn't make you fat. Excess calories do.

You can also have oreos when losing or maintaining too. It's actually pretty easy to include them.

    LOL

I'm losing weight averaging 2000 calories per day. I can easily fit a serving of oreos into my daily goal to lose weight. I often choose not to since there are days I like to have several beers.

    Priorities.

Do you know what's even better? Oreos with Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and potato chips as well.

Oreos only make you gain fat if you eat them in a calorie surplus.

They are a good choice for me while losing or maintaining, as I can eat two of them for about 150 calories. That's not hard at all to fit in my day, it makes me happy, and knowing that I don't have to sacrifice things I enjoy eating absolutely helps me achieve my fitness goals.

I made a Raspberry White Chocolate cheesecake with Oreo Crust and crumbled Oreos to top it off for Christmas last year. Now I may have to try baking the Oreos into the actual cake next time.
