@ tcaley4- thanks, I think it will be fun, I'M excited!! Heat doesn't bother me. I rode the Flat Fifty Plus and metric centry a few years back in August. It was 98* my bike computer was picking up some road heat saying it was 119*. Loved it... Ambulance treated 5 people and actuall hualed 3 in to hospital for heat exhaustion.
@ hophead28- like that name by the way as a fellow beer drinker, I had all these thoughts running thru my head as to what I will need. When time settles down I will sit down and start putting things on paper. Thursday of our trip is kinda a layover day. We have 4 options that day. Rest and play on the beach, 16,62 or a centry loop to ride. Will play it by ear and see, I want to do a centry this year. 85 miles has been my longest ride so far. That too is on my bucket list.
The good and easier thing is it's a full supported ride. We get tent, lawn chair, air mattress, and a clean towel for every day. They haul our luggage, set up the tents/tare down tents and move to next resting spot. Breakfast and dinner included each day. Lunchs are on ride somewhere, in a few brew pubs and small eateries. Evenings party time furnished beer garden!!!

Got up early this morning to join my weekly tri team sufferfest. I keep on thinking I'm way too slow as I keep getting dropped by the first group, but given they were hitting 28mph (w. no wind), all but 2 riders were dropped at some point today, and I'm one of the best climbers, I really shouldn't complain. It is getting kinda odd how sustaining 25mph in a reasonable sized group, alternating and sustaining 24mph with one other rider, and soloing at 23mph is gradually becoming possible.

It was perfect riding weather in Fort Worth this weekend: 30 Miles on Friday and 30 Miles Saturday. Raining today and all week, but planning to be at the spin class Tues and Thurs.

Man, it's looking like May weather in March. Revising my initial plan of 250 up to 400 miles. Currently theoretically training for a sprint length triathlon in August, my first century and bike camping sometime this summer, so I'm thinking of actually trying for different kinds of rides on the weekends, like hill workouts and speed stuff? Should be interesting!
3/3 - 15 miles.
3/5 - no biking, slipped on ice, bruised my tailbone. Spent the weekend avoiding any pressure on that area
3/7 - 30 miles - beautiful beautiful day. Currently 64 degrees! So beautiful that everyone in Minneapolis was out around the lakes today, making it a bit slower of a ride than I'm used to (I normally bike around the lakes before work when there aren't a ton of people out). Took my road bike out, and for the most part my tailbone only hurt when going through potholes or powering up hills. Only found 2 patches of ice. Keeping my fingers crossed the good weather holds so I can keep doing the long routes to and from work and racking up lots of miles.

Got in a handful of ballpark commutes Sunday and today.
With about 3000 miles on my road bike since my last tune up, and a ride across the keys planned for this weekend, I ended up dropping off my bike for a tune-up today with my friendly local mechanic. I knew I needed a chain & tires, so I brought one along (9 speed ultegra), along with some replacement tires (michelin krylions). So far, the ride quality on the krylions is a bit stiff, but reasonable, and I'm glad I've switched back to 700x25s from my 700x23s. Given the job he did, I'm going to bring in my tri bike to him tomorrow to upgrade my 105 front & rear derailleurs to dura ace, along with an ultegra cassette & chain that just arrived in the mail today.

Dura ace drivetrain upgrade now complete on my triathlon bike. Need to do a bit more rear derailleur tuning (as there are a handful of gremlins between 4th & 5th to eradicate), but happy now that I'm done getting that bike's groupset upgraded as far as it will reasonably go.

Hi everyone I lost track of where this thread was posted and just discovered it again today. I thought it was under fitness and exercise but now I know it is under the challenge section.
Boy my distances are so short compared to everyone else. However keep in mind I am over 280+ pounds so I am just glad to be able to be on a trike.
