Kinda slowed down a bit to let my knee heal. I bruised it in a balancing act trying to hold my bicycle and take a photo. When the bicycle fell, it hit the bottom part of my ITB rather sharply.

Made some quick derailleur adjustments at the shop, and my bike is now reliably hitting all gears. Very modest improvement in shift speed/crispness between my old 105 derailleur/tiagra cassette/sunrace chain setup vs. the dura-ace derailleurs/ultegra chain/ultegra cassette combo (both used same dura-ace bar end shifters), but glad I did the upgrade.
Still, the chain stretching combos I'm supposed to avoid (big/big and little/little) seem slightly happier and things are getting pretty crisp and reliable with my bar end shifters. Just wanted to get everything in place a month before my next race (Ironman 70.3 Florida).

@phil2795 - I just keep two distance counters on my bike computer - current ride, and a total I reset monthly (and luckily can easily swap the wireless computer between my tri bike and road bike). Still, once I head up north for the summer and use a 3rd bike up there, I'll just log manually.
@ssflbelle2012 - You'll find your progress will ramp up pretty fast once you start committing the time, as even with 10% increases in total mileage weekly, you'll be doubling your distance every 2 months! Started my journey at 260lb, I encounter a reasonable number of 230lb+ folks on century (100+ mile) rides, and I ran my first 10 mile road race at 240lb, so as you take off weight, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish. Being 160lb now makes climbing much easier, but my wattage output (and flat land speed) isn't too far from where I was at 200lb.0 -
I think I have a problem. I do between 80-110 miles per day on a recumbent bike. Weight loss competition has me going a little crazy, lol.
I ride at home and at work.0 -

Yesterday's ride was unbelievable fun on the slickrock, ledges, walls, rocks (I'm worn out from the workout, but grinning from ear to ear)...

Wow great pics @SingingSingleTracker. Looks like a great time.0

I love it when people post pictures of their rides More pictures, more pictures!
re: tracking, I use map my ride, since it syncs with the health and wellness app my work uses for their fitness program.
My tailbone continues to plague me after my slip and fall on ice this weekend - it doesn't hurt while riding, but it's still sore throughout the day and requires advil to not be too much of a distraction. I don't think not riding would speed the healing process, but I probably should consult the nurses hotline. Then, it's really a question of what do I need more - the mental health I get from biking or perhaps slightly faster physical healing?

And my picture contribution, perhaps the last day my winter rig will go out this year, last Thursday (fingers crossed for no more snow), the building decided to close the bike storage without warning to repaint, so I had to bring my bike up to my office

Thanks Ohhim for that info. I can't imagine going on 100 mile rides at my weight. Someday when I am at goal I might.
Singingsingle What beautiful photos. That must have been an awesome ride. I can't imagine riding on anything right now but flat land.

Heading off to the keys tomorrow, so got in a final ride today to the bike shop to snag some extra tubes. Fast group ride planned in the morning followed by a ride to the ballpark for the Jays vs. Red Sox game, then my buddy is picking me up there so we can drive down to Miami in the evening. Looking forward to the trip!

Today was a lot of up, and up, and down, and down. And I got lost. And my phone battery died. So I actually rode 2 more hours and who knows how many more miles?

Made it from Key Largo to marathon key on a nice leisurely ride today. Better scenery once we made it out of Key Largo and about 90% of the route was alongside wider paved roadside trails. Lots of iguana dodging as they played chicken on the trail. Onto key west tomorrow.

ohhim How's the wind down there in the keys? Is it slowing you down any? I have been riding it in for days and it is really making me work twice as hard. Will report my rides and distance on Tuesday as usual for me.0

Made it to the end of the trail. Hanging out in Key West until Tuesday then biking back to Key Largo.
Wind was from the side (and slightly at our back) for most of the ride, so no trouble. Likely going to have a bit more of a head wind en route back.

I do mostly bike @ gym, it's one of the highest calorie burn excessive you can do. I used to go for an hour but now I do 30min vigorous ride and will typically burn 540 calories(manual setting and level I will range from level 8 to level 12 keeping rpm @110 or higher for the entire 30 min)
If anyone is willing to try this let me know how you like it and how many calories you can burn in a hard 30 min) if you have any tricks on the stationary bike to burn a lot of calories in 30 min or a short period I am very curious to hear and learn a new method. Thanks!!0
