I'm glad you're doing better Machka...Dont want too over work the knee! We can moan and groan and go on about a lot of things BUT KNEES AND ANKLES ARE IMPORTANT! I learned that several years back from an ankle injury...We need those things! lol

It has been a busy busy past week and days but I'm hanging in there. I was so tired yesterday I could not even go too the computer... I did however get in 4.0 Walking miles along with a lot of other chores. My back feels like I worked off a thousand calories! lol...

Total thus far March 15th ......56.5 Walking Miles...
    ...............................................9.0 Exercise Bike Miles...

I am out the door shortly too walk the girls, on too town for their shots, probably walk some more...A very busy day and hope too log everything tonight or at least in the morning...

EVERYONE have a great day... :)

took a couple of days off this week to recover from some stressful time at work, and because I had days to use up - but why is it when you take time off people always assume you want to spend it with them?

A lovely walk on Saturday on Fyfield Down, just East of Avebury, with rolling fields full of sarsen stones (glacial sandstone deposits). Had to cross a few gallops on the way - look left and right for thundering hooves!! and there was a tense moment as we realised the footpath went through the field with the big sign saying 'bull in field'. Fantastic landscape, really got to understand the geology that created it, and a lovely, lovely six mile walk (no horses or bulls seen you'll be pleased to know).

Finished the day with a quick stop in a National Trust tearoom for a naughty Cream Tea (Devon-style preferred) and a wander round the stones at Avebury. Avebury is the poor man's Stonehenge, but to my mind the better experience. £4 in the car park and free to wander the stones, banks, *kitten* and village, compared to £17.80 to get on a bus down to Stonehenge just to join hundreds of other people several hundred yards from the stones.

Another walk on Monday along the coast at Portishead (never actually BEEN to Portishead before, just make rude comments about it).

    Totals so far this month:

walking 37.25 miles out of 50
    Stronglifts 5x5 - 7 times out of 6
Lindy 0 hours out of 10 (but have an entire weekend coming up).

Today I had to head to Cardiff to look at something. I parked on the tenth floor (11th to some) and got the lift (elevator) down. Walked back up thinking I was being healthy. Got to my floor - discovered the pay machine was on the 1st floor, so had to go ALL the way back down again!!. And yes, I DID walk back up!!!

keep going everyone, halfway through the month and we're all doing so well!!

Glad to hear about the knee Machka, and I love Avebury and even have fond memories of Portishead (from when I lived in Brtisol) Girlina ... (I also love driving past Stonehenge, and hate to think of that road getting buried...totally the wrong plan I think!)

Almost tempted to get the bike out first time this year for today - a walk or cycle to a local cafe with a friend. Glad I opted for the walk though as even we did it slowly as she is a slow walker , I discovered my friend would have wanted to push the bike all the way up the hills - which would have done my head in!! Hopefully soon.

So c 70 mins walking in the spring sunshine. Lucky me

@Jeannie - staying busy is how we roll... coming up at the end of the month for a year on my end. My time on the bike is my refuge and peace. My bike ride at least a couple times a week envolves a trip past the cemetery. And then her birthday is April 9th so a tuff month ahead.

50 mins on my bike - yes, got it going at last Steve! My legs are a bit out of cycling practise, but 3 small hills successfully mounted and the morning troubles of visiting v elderly parents stomped away... I can understand why the cycling is important to you Steve.

    Current totals:

Usual - 295 - under, as skipped some swims
    Stretch - 590 mainly walking
30 mins a day min: 18 out of 19 Yay

Supersize: i imagine people are doing this challenge for different reasons eg to be fit, or to enable chocolate cake eating whilst losing or in maintenance, as well as for some to help straight weight loss. I did work out my calorie burn so far from my additional excercise this month the other day and found it meant I had avoided adding a pound of fat.....if I had eaten less, I guess I would have lost more weight too!

I am more interested in a) not getting fatter b) being fit to support my recovery from illness, and lastly c) very gently losing a few spare pounds. It would have been nice if I was seeing c) this month, but my body is on a go slow health wise so I just have to roll with it. The best part for me has been the daily challenge goal... That really makes me do something on days I would rather not. I may not be well enough to go swimming (which would certianky help me shift those pounds) but I can go for a couple of short walks.
