Rosie Please take care of yourself. It sounds like things could get really ugly when your exchange student leaves.
Have you seen the paperwork yet? Do you know what benefits you are entitled to? What about medical insurance? Will you have to rely on COBRA? Outplacement services. Some companies don't bother telling employees or offering everything they could. Before he signs anything and certainly before signing/ cashing his separation check, he needs to have paperwork reviewed. He can always negotiate better separation benefits. Monday morning, get to a lawyer. If that isn't possible, go to the unemployment office. Go with him to ask questions and take notes. It's like getting bad medical news- we need someone else to help absorb the info. Depending on why he was laid off or the type of job, or where you live, there may be special assistance from the state. Also, if lots of people were laid off, how old are they? Is there a pattern of discrimination?
Lots of <3 and hugs. Here is a personal o:) to look after you.

Good morning all.Have been up since 5am.....but was wide awake & ready to get my tea & watch morning TV news. Don't watch it like I used too.....iPad headlines are enough for me. Already tired of election jabber, seems like it has been going on for years.
Had Dr appt last wk & since Dec (forget the date) lost 9.8 pds.Family Dr said "lets call it 10"....he's a sweetie. :D Not a huge loss, but after a loooong plateau........better than a gain. The bad news is no exercise except walking & try swimming after a few weeks.Arthritis Dr says nothing involving arms, neck or shoulders.Added to iffy knees & hips ..arthritis wins. :s
Loved seeing the pictures. Heather, the new Grandchild is so sweet. They all look like a happy family.

I also drive a CVR.No letter yet,but will be looking for it. Need just a few things from grocery & going to be there early this morn. Wishing good health & hugs for all. Have a great Easter. Pat

    Barbie ~ Happy Belated Birthday!

Rosie ~ So sorry for all that's going on in your home. Prayers for you and family.

Lenora ~ What a nice surprise for you.

Mary ~ My heart goes out to you for all those diagnoses. Hoping the meds help.

Going to watch the 5 yr old's baseball game today. I think he's going to be quite athletic. His friends are getting into football but his Dad says "NO" to that. My brothers all played football and one was the high school quarterback. He had hoped to get into GA Tech's football team but that didn't happen. So, he ended up going to law school at Mercer in Macon.

DnL's mom is going to Kenya next week on a mission trip. We are going to her house after they go to church on Sunday and I must decided what foods to take.

    Everyone have a great day!

    Good morning Ladies.
Mary,,, I hope you will be feeling and sleeping better sooner rather than later. Now that you know what is causing you to feel so lousy you can work toward getting better. I also had acupuncture many times for various ailments. I don't like needles at all but a skilled acupuncturist can make it virtually painless. I had an excellent one and use to fall asleep during my sessions. There was a point in my life where I couldn't raise my right arm due to whiplash and after trying all sorts of conventional treatments that didn't worked turned to acupuncture which "cured" the problem and I haven't had a problem since.

Rosie...I am so sorry for what you are going through. No one deserves to be a verbal punching bag, you deserve better. We are here for you no matter what you decide.

Ljdw99...I realized then you said North Shore Mall that you were referring to the mall I drive past everyday to go to work. We are practically neighbors!

Date update...today was supposed to be date 1 with prospect #2 but it actually happened last night. We were on the phone yesterday finalizing plans for out Harvard Square date today when I mentioned to him that a friend of mine invited me to accompany her to a local casino that eve I g (yesterday). I don't gamble, but love to people watch and she gets comped food and drink so it was a total win for me. He said he enjoys going there and suggested he meet me there. I liked this idea because I would have my friend with me to make sure I was safe and to check him out. We had a blast! He was charming and funny and a gentleman and NOT MORBIDLY OBESE!!! So today our first date will actually be our second date.

    Gotta run and get ready.

Call me crazy but I love to see other people happy and succeeding .

    Good Morning, Ladies,

Barbie, it sounds like your dance class did a good job of celebrating your birthday. A very nice gift, too.

Allie, you do know by giving that beggar a handout you will never get rid of him. Lol

Pip, very nice early BD present! That Kirby is such a smooth character.

Sheretaw, welcome. This is a great place for support and information. Please tell us a little about yourself to help us get to know you. We also ask that you sign each post with the name you want to be called and a location, general or specific. Some post their work outs, so their food, some their family or work problems…..it all is part of a healthy lifestyle. Join right in and come often.

Sylvia, that sounds pretty scary when the pressure released. Glad nothing bad happened. Is there any way that you can insulate the compressor to help with the noise?

Rosi, so sorry to hear about your DH getting laid off. Even more sorry to hear about the way he acts and reacts. You take care of yourself and know we care. (((Hugs)))

Heather, I hope your DH finds his wallet. It is such a hassle to have to cancel and replace things.

Pat, I think 10 pounds is a HUGE LOSS> What’s you talkin’ about, lady???? Congrats and happy dance.

Chris, so glad the date went well. Hope date #2 with date #2 is even better. Your DGD is a doll and I love her ears.

welcome.gifto any Newbies that I missed. Come often and join in the chat. This thing works!! Please sign your post with what you want to be called. It makes it easier for us to respond to you. Also a location is great, be it specific or general. We are happy to have you join us.

We have a handyman coming in a few minutes to replace the kitchen faucet. Our house is not even 9 years old and the faucet is worn out. Go figure??? They sure don’t make things like they used to. He will give us an estimate on the other jobs we have so keep your fingers crossed. The rain is on its way and will rain on and off for the next three days. I hope it helps the pollen.
Sending good thoughts for all of you and wishing you each a healthy and happy day. happy-spring-smiley-emoticon.gif

Kim- I got bit by a tick In July 2014. I was diagnosed with anaplasmosis in October of that year. Was treated and thought it was gone. Last June I got bit by another tick and was treated for Lymes and thought it was gone. I just have been getting progressively worse since October of last year. It came on so gradually that I didn't put it together with the tick bites. But now all of the symptoms that I have been having make complete sense. This time I will make sure that I am rechecked more than one time after I recover.

Thank you ladies for all of your well wishes and support! I'm going to get ready now to do my exercises! Have a great day everyone!

Pip: Your new bike looks great! We have disc brakes on ours, too. They are excellent. It appears your man loves you. Let us know how you like the bike.

Sheretaw: Welcome to a great group of women! I'd say this is a combination of food and social.

Mary: I hope the Anaplasmosis treatment is not too unpleasant and completely resolves the tick bite problems. I understand that family dogs are sometimes infected by tick bites, too. Best wishes.

Lenora: Congratulations on the best day ever!

Joyce: Congrats on fixing your ipad on your own! I have my computer password on a sticky note attached to my desk. I think I'll put it on my phone, too. It ticks me off theat they keep wanting us to update our passwords. I know they want to keep our data safe, but what a hassle! :ohwell:

Heather: I hope you DH has found is wallet. He seems to have had more than enough stress lately. :flowerforyou:

Patceoh: I am happy to see your post this morning.

Chris in MA: Congratulations on meeting your prospective date early and in a relaxed environment. I hope you have a great time today. :flowerforyou:

Riding lesson today! Yay!!! I would dearly love a trail ride, but the weather doesn't look that promising, and I think it is unlikely. More canter/lope practice is a more realistic possibility. Whatever it turns out to be, I will enjoy it. In other news, we took our inflatable dinghy into the inflatable boats store to get problems fixed. It may be unfixable. We'll find out next week :ohwell:

    Good morning, Ladies!
I'm off to chair the caucus for my local precinct. I'm nervous!

Rosie, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with such awful treatment. Stay safe, okay? Don't let love or duty or guilt or, well, anything keep you from standing up for your rights. *sending hugs

Chris, congrats on meeting someone dateable! I'm having adventures in that regard, my own self. I should dish sometime...

Katla, hip resurfacing can be brilliant...or it can be botched. I have one of each, from the same surgeon. I have a permanent limp, from the latter...but I can walk at all, because of both ...plus the surgeries on each ankle and each foot. Total pieces of metal, counting screws: 32. umm #winning?

    Have a great weekend!

DJ - I guess I haven't realized how lucky I am. Jack is the Ultimate handyman. Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, replace whole walls of drywall or just patches. He and next door neighbor/best friend are getting ready to run a gas line fron the gas water heater in the garage along the outside of the house and into the kitchen so we can have a gas stove rather than the electrc stove we have. They are also running new electrical wiring to his shop and rewire the entire shop. He definitely can repaire anything mechanical, including cars, lawnmowerss, power tools, etc. Guess it comes from being an Airfoce lifer. I'll be hanging on to him :)

Janetr - I had one of those amazing fixers first time around. He totally did up two ruined houses from scratch. Gas, electrics, dry rot, everything. Repaired our cars. It was quite a shock when I married DH! :noway: I had no idea how to find a plumber, or painter, or anything. DH can just about put up a picture, but not much else. I had to teach him to barbecue. He has never lit a fire or sharpened a knife. He does have other qualities though. :blushing: <3

I have got him some Easter presents for tomorrow, although it's not one of our traditions. I bought him some butter shortbread for his mid morning coffee in a lovely post box tin and a couple of our favourite detective novels. (That's as much for me as for him :D )

    The wallet was retrieved. :D

Looking forward to my Danish thriller tonight - Follow the Money. When I was learning my Norwegian today on Duolingo I was doing 'bedrooms'. One sentence was "There is a cat on the pillow" and another was, "There is a man with a knife behind the curtains". I also have learned "My glass is completely empty." Now that might come in handy! :)

Love Heather in a very windy UK
