@cbabie I made Italian bread. It had a crispy crust and soft inside. Also not very sweet. My husband had some this morning. I’m making a loaf tomorrow to take to my daughter’s house. Not sure what kind. I have had my bread machine since the 1980’s. My husband gave it to me for Christmas. I enjoy making bread as it makes everyone happy and I can be satisfied with one slice.

@fabgeekmom Trello can be anything you want it to be really. Here's a short description. https://youtu.be/xky48zyL9iA?si=B6xk3VV_uGk-2b_v

I have a meal planning board, an outfits board, a weekly planner, yearly planner, Next Actions board, Goal progress board, grocery list board, reference board. These are the ones I use. My family is now trained that if they want me to remember something to go write it down on Trello. Meatballs are on my menu for this week too. I might just use your simple recipe. lol I'm already changing the recipe. I'm supposed to spiralize the zucchini but that's always such a pain. I'm going to cut it into large matchsticks. I love homemade bread. It would be hard for me to stop at one slice.

@trooworld I'm with Daisy. Don't bother me..... lol That app sounds like a good way to save money. How has your tracking been going? Exercise?

@cbabie I think retired men eat more cause they are bored. lol He has now entered into the prediabetic stage. He was watching a youtube video about an 80 year old man that changed his life when he was 60. So he tells me let's do his plan. I said you go ahead. Cause I know how this is going to work. He has said, no sugar, no potatoes, no (fill in the blank) He will do fine for a while and then go back to his normal eating. I said just reduce your portion sizes would be a good start. Go the gym. Just start there. Then he has to throw in, "cause we know your program is working so well" Do as I say not as I do.

I started converting my recipes to points last night and adding them to my Trello board. Such a long process as some foods are 0 points and you can't just enter in the nutrition data to the calculator. But once it's done, it's done. I've added labels like Breakfast, Lunch, etc. so I can just move them around if needed. I went to the gym this morning and did my cardio and weights.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks for sharing. I’m glad it works for you. I agree about what you told your husband. Those diets where you can’t eat anything never work! I have learned to eat a few pieces of candy, not the whole bag. Right now we have 2 bowls of Hershey’s kisses and a bowl of lifesavers on the counter. Because I know that I can eat some, I don’t go crazy with them.

@trooworld Good luck on fixing the toilet. That’s so annoying. Your party sounded like fun and I like that someone brought a salad. Enjoy your gifts. Hi, all. I chose a fire engine red for the chairs. They were a bright yellow but that color wasn’t available. We used a coupon online so the material wasn’t too expensive. Afterwards we went to Trader Joe’s as it was close by. Big mistake! The store was packed. I bought 2 persimmons and my husband got some chips and animal crackers. I also got my granddaughter some gummies in holiday shapes. I noticed that the calories for the persimmon was the same as that for the cookies. I don’t usually eat fruit at lunch but I don’t get persimmons that often. I noticed that they come from California. Instead of eating out last night we ate at my daughter’s house. She made Skinnytaste picadilla (sp?). I almost clogged up the kitchen sink this morning as I put some slaw in the disposal. Luckily my husband unclogged it. I won’t do that again!

@trooworld Wow, you really had a busy day! All that cooking will help with your meal planning. Good job on fixing the toilet. Hi, all. I had a good meal at my daughter’s house. I made bread with fig preserves and it was really good. I ate one slice and left half for my daughter’s family and brought the rest for my husband. Tonight I am making air fried fish, air fried potatoes and coleslaw. I’m going to the recreation center this morning.

afternoon all, getting ready to go to the dentist...YEA. NOT. He will tell me I eat too many sweets. LOL I am extremely tired. I don't think I am getting rest the short hours I am in bed. No exercise today that I am planning on, it's a busy day and I just don't see it happening. I do have to change my mindset on that I know. Still not sure about my phone..I am trying to make the right decision and therefore, making no decision. LOL

@trooworld why do we have to be the kind of women that say if you want it done..LOL. I sometimes wish I could be that person that can sit on the couch and think nothing of it. good for you for being so productive, sorry about your foot. I hope it gets better quickly.

@fabgeekmom the bread sounds yummy. I too have had my bread machine for a years...same with my Sunbeam mixer..the old stuff lasted longer..LOL. (Is that us) I hope so, don't like being called old stuff, but would like to last longer.

@theslightedgeforever sorry you lost your post..I had to laugh about DH wanting to try a new "plan". Mine is so skinny he should hand that metabolism over to me. LOL.

@theslightedgeforever Good job on the walk and weight loss! @cbabie I don’t like going to the dentist either. No one does. Sorry you are tired. I struggle with that, too but keep on going. I don’t mind being called old stuff. I’m 72!

@trooworld Your dinner sounded really good. Too bad about the vertigo. Hi, all. Yesterday I went swimming. The water always feels good. I love that I can burn so many calories. The air fried fish and potatoes with coleslaw was really good. I have fish and coleslaw for lunch today. Today I will do the recumbent elliptical. Tonight is family dinner. I am making Skinnytaste Easy Lasagna Recipe from the website. I will make bread also.

@cbabie I think I got all the "sit on the couch and ignore it" genes. lol But also I have the "it could be worse" mindset so probably that's why things don't bother me as much. I do have some things that bother me though. Have you got your exercise planned out for tomorrow? 5 min. What can you do for 5 min that gets your heart racing?

@fabgeekmom Instead of old stuff how about vintage? I like that better. lol Sounds like you enjoyed your workout at the rec center.

@trooworld Have they figured out the cause of the vertigo? Sometimes you can find really good YouTube videos for therapy exercises that you can do at home. I think it's really just a matter of being shown what to do and then doing them consistently.

I made this recipe but changed alot of the ingredients to use what I had on hand. lol The end result was really good.
https://purewow.com/recipes/slow-cooker-meal-prep-burrito-bowls I used fava beans with cumin instead of black beans, chicken breasts instead of pork, then used a mix of green peas with red and yellow peppers for the rest of the veggies. Added the onions and doubled the greek yogurt and taco seasoning. I took the leftovers and made a soup out of it with a small bit of vermicelli.

@trooworld Good idea about the PT. The cookies sound yummy. And the party I’m sure will be fun. Too bad about your sleep. Hi, all. The lasagna was delicious. I added some Italian seasoning to the ground beef and tomato mixture. I used ricotta cheese. I made ricotta bread which was also good. Tonight I am making the salmon teriyaki from Simple but using white rice and broccolini. I’m air frying the salmon. About 7-8 minutes on 400. The teriyaki is equal parts mirin and soy sauce. Marinade the salmon for about 15 minutes. Simmer on low heat the remaining sauce until thick, about 3 minutes. Today is a swim day.

@trooworld I was reading about the vertigo and it said some crystals are loose in your inner ear and moving out of place. It reminded me about being a kid and some people said I had marbles in my head. lol Your cookies sound really good. I saw a recipe today for pistachio cranberry shortbread that I might try. I'm only going to bake one recipe so I don't eat alot. Cause I know I'll want to try everything if I do.

@fabgeekmom The salmon sounds really good. Lasagna too. I just looked up ricotta bread and found some ricotta dinner rolls I may try. I have to be very careful making things like this as I will just keep eating them one by one with lots of butter.

I found this video today I'm going to try. Christmas Dance Workouthttps://youtu.be/yL5GJBOu4sU?si=2PSmE4fR8VKNpOMa

I was just browsing through YouTube and it came up on suggested videos. I laughed because another one that came up was Jane Fonda's original workout that I used to do over and over again. When I heard the opening music it brought me back so many memories. I was laughing at all the leotards and what I used to wear. Also laughing at the man on there in a crop top. My hubby used to wear one of those when we would go to aerobics class at the Rec Center on campus. lol The 80's were something. :D

I made a couple of recipes today. One was Tandoori chicken burgers. Dh liked it but I wouldn't make it again. The other was a sheet pan marinated chicken with some sweet potato and white zucchini strips.

@trooworld Too bad and the migraine. I love Milk Street recipes and sheet pan recipes. That salad sounds delicious. Hi, all. My salmon was really good last night. I had some really thick pieces. We have leftovers for lunch. I’m going to buy salad ingredients so we can eat it over a salad. I’m going to the recreation center tomorrow to workout on the recumbent elliptical. Tonight we are eating the pizza my son made last week and put in the freezer.

@fabgeek This morning I tried that Christmas zumba workout I mentioned yesterday. Dh made it about 7 min and then went to the bathroom and then out of the room. lol I made it 25 min. First part was good and then the movements kept getting harder. I was expecting more traditional upbeat Christmas songs. But I tried something new.

@trooworld Here's the recipe you requested. https://pin.it/4aU1Yne Your ugly salad sounds so good. I have been trying to add in more veggies

I roasted a butternut squash today. It will serve as a bowl for some cauliflower rice, spinach, dried cranberries and chick peas. I hope it's good. I'll let you know. I'm scooping out alot of the squash and will use that for some squash ravioli early next week.

Afternoon...I just read all the post and thought, you guys are such good girls...me on the other hand..eating F&V is like eating cooked cabbage to me.. LOL. Its too much work on the veggies..I am trying to get where it's not, but right now..it seems to be. I just have no energy this week. I think some of it is been living on 4 to 5 hours sleep again and food hasn't been the best.

@theslightedgeforever LOL I had to laugh..I can see you in your workout clothes. when I think of me in leotards..I just want to go hang my head over the toilet. But it was the trend..LOL

@trooworld I hope you get your vertigo fixed. It's not something that is fun. BUT you could use it to have DH cook every night, clean the floors, get groceries..LOL. (JK) It wouldn't work on mine..he would tell everyone here to tough it up and we would be eating bread for dinner.

@fabgeekmom I would have never guessed 72! I am so glad you are active and eating balanced food. My parents would still be here if they had.

@cbabie Thanks for the compliment. I’m sorry you are not sleeping well. @trooworld The .2 gain wasn’t too bad. It’s good that you put the cookie dough in the freezer. I’ll have to look up that soup. Good job on limiting takeout. The burger meal sounds good. Hi all, we are having burgers and frozen fries in the air fryer for dinner. I also have some string beans. Yesterday I bought some arugula and when I got home discovered it was bad. I’ll exchange it today or tomorrow. I was looking forward to eating my salmon on it. Luckily I had a bit of lettuce. Today is a swim day.

@cbabie Buy a bag of baby carrots. Boom instant veggies. No hard work involved. Butternut squash is easy. Cut it in half, drizzle with some oil, salt and pepper and throw in the oven for 45-55 min. I also like to add cinnamon. You could even eat it straight out of the shell if you didn't want to mess with scooping or dicing into squares and then scooping it out. It's your mind saying veggies are hard. Buy a jar of queso and use on frozen veggies in a bag. Steaming veggies isn't hard or time consuming. While queso will add some calories to the meal, it would be a lot less than what you are currently eating instead probably. Plus you get some good vitamins and minerals from the veggies. Do you want to stay on the same road your parents traveled? Can you start with once a week, eat some veggies.

@trooworld Good for you on cutting back on the take out. We did too this week. I am trying new recipes with veggies and such. I was also practicing mindset thoughts. Instead of saying, I hate cooking and doing it with a negative attitude. I was saying to myself, I bet this is going to turn out so pretty. Look how I'm creating.

@fabgeekmom Too bad about the arugula. I usually buy kiwis every week for my mil and this week I came home with none because the whole lot seemed to be too soft. So she got apples. She can't eat them raw any more so we peel and dice them cook them up with some cinnamon. The house always smells like apple pie after that.

I need to get my mojo back with my exercise. Food was good this week. I can't seem both to come together right now. lol

@trooworld You inspired me to get the ingredients for pozole. I almost couldn’t find the hominy until I remembered it would be near the canned corn. I’m using canned instead of dried as I couldn’t find the dried. Also I read in the comments that a lot of people had trouble with the dried not working well. I’m also going to use the pork loin that I have in the freezer. Good luck with the cookie dough. Hi, all. I’m staying home today and getting my exercise on the recumbent bike. I may go for a walk as it is supposed to be warmer today.

@trooworld I had been exercising in the early morning when I first wake up. This past week and a half I've just been so tired in the morning. I keep hitting my snooze or just turn it off and go back to bed. Then by 7 life around here starts and I I'm busy doing this or that. In the afternoon my biorhythms are down. Then evening is spent with my mil. So I'll keep trying this next week. I had to go look up pozole. Never heard of that before. I think I would eat the cookie dough straight out of the freezer.

@fabgeekmom I think I tried hominy once when I was a kid. Didn't like it that I remember. I might like it now. I eat all sorts of things I didn't eat as a kid.

Here's the finished product of the butternut squash. It was really good. Filling but light. I added cantaloupe as a side. I did some spontaneous exercise with my son a bit ago. 10 min worth. HIIT type workout. Usually dh and I walk on Saturdays but he wasn't feeling well so.......guess I'm going to have to get in there on the treadmill soon. I'm waiting for my dd to call. She's heading to Ireland tonight. My son flew this afternoon to Cancun for a wedding. I'm sure he will enjoy the warmth for 2 days. I'd just love to sit and stare at the water. Reading a book. Although that doesn't burn very many calories does it.

@trooworld I am preparing mine on Tuesday as that night is family dinner. What are you eating with yours? The recipe suggested shredded cabbage, avocado, and limes. I am thinking of making a yeast cornbread in the bread maker. Hi, all. We ate at an Italian restaurant last night. My son had plans so my daughter and her husband picked us up. I eat the same thing every time I go: manicotti, salad and bread. So good and worth the calories! Tonight we are eating at my cousin’s house for a Hanukkah meal. She is preparing matzo ball soup, brisket, potato latkes and string beans. We are bringing donuts as that is part of the celebration. @trooworld Warm temperatures are from the 50’s to 60’s. Today the high is 70 but it is going to rain. Unfortunately warm temperatures mean rain is coming but we enjoy them when we get them.

@fabgeekmom If I'm going to wake up at 5:30 to exercise I might as well do the whole thing. lol I got up at 6 this morning and exercised for 45 min. Happy Hanukkah! I like potato latkes.

@trooworld Good for you for sticking to 2 pieces of pizza and having a healthy salad with it. My son will travel for weddings where as my daughter travels for fun. She basically works so she can travel. No husband or kids. That's the way she likes it.

I made a Mexican Impossible Pie but I didn't like it. I substituted black beans for half the meat. But I think the flour mixture needed more salt. The top part was bland and the bottom part was too spicy. lol Oh well. I can't say I'm just fixing the same old foods.

@trooworld I’m glad the pozole was good. Good job on the clothes folding. Stuff can pile up, pun intended. I agree with your husband. I like to have protein with each meal. It fills me up. Hi, all. The Hanukkah meal was fun. I ate more than I should have but not as much as I could have! Today is a swim day. I need to go grocery shopping. My son fixed a sandwich for work with the deli turkey I was going to eat for lunch. I am going to air fry some shrimp. I saw a recipe on Skinnytaste: shrimp, spices and a little olive oil, about 8minutes on 400. Rice and salad will round out the meal.

@trooworld I did add salt to the recipe. Evidently not enough. The recipe said salt and pepper added to the Bisquick mix, eggs, and milk. But no amount was given. So I added 1/2 t. The bisquick had salt in it and there was 1 c shredded cheddar cheese added. It was a waste of points to me. I didn't even think about salting my own portion. Because of my blood pressure, I usually don't salt my food once it's cooked. I have two portions left, I'll see if that helps. I have 2 piles of clothes that need folding.

@fabgeekmom How was the shrimp? I air-fryed some chicken tenders. Added a fruit and called it a meal. I never eat as much protein as the charts say I should. But I do have some with every meal.

Tonight I'm making an old skool recipe. Milk gravy with scrambled ground chicken over bread.

Went to the gym this morning for a short session.

@theslightedgeforever My husband would like the milk gravy with scrambled chicken on toast. He loves gravy but I don’t fix it. My cousin will make Salisbury steak with gravy and invite us over. @trooworld I know what SOS is. That was a food made popular during WWII. Too bad about the soup. I’ll let everyone know tomorrow how mine turns out. I’m glad you are getting a new walking pad. Hi, all. My shrimp was delicious! It didn’t need any sauce. I only used 1 tablespoon of olive oil. It is 37 here now. I’m glad I have indoor options for exercise! Today is a swim day.
