Morning to all
Today is Monday and I am crazy busy this week, no down time. I didn't even have time to finish my grocery shopping, so I will fit it in. I was outside thinking...this is what I heard..you are the firstborn, follow the ruled, sit down keep your mouth shut and just do it...oh the things that go on inside this head of mine.
I hope you all have a good Monday and make the most of it as my mom used to say.
@trooworld I used to have my weigh-in on Sat for WW, just cause I knew I would eat more over the weekends..LOL

Hi all! I hope everyone is well and that those that are lurking have the time to post eventually. We are short-handed at work this week, so we are all running around busy. It's easy to make a mistake when you are really busy, which is what happened yesterday, I told someone something that I shouldn't have (something that was not for outsider ears), hopefully I don't get in trouble for it. I think I've heard other people tell this same information so I think I'm okay, but I have anxiety so of course I was laying in bed thinking about it trying to go to bed last night. My car should be done at the end of this week. I can't wait to get it back. The rental is nice, but it's not my car.
@cbabie I hope you get your grocery shopping done. That's an odd thing to hear in your head! Did you find that you gained weight because you had your weigh in on Saturday?0 -
HI all,
I didn't sleep well either, over work. LOL I am on it again today...hopefully I am one step closer to my goal.
@trooworld I didn't weigh in, I am actually afraid to. I will wait until this Saturday. one of my grandson turns 16 today. I won't be available to celebrate...makes me sad. I have a work meeting tonight at 6-8. Yes maybe some of our friends will post today. Hope your day goes well and you know we can't change something once it's been done, we have to change our mind to worry...it doesn't help or change anything, but creates bad things in our physical bodies.

Hi all. Well, my anxiety snowballed and I had a terrible day. I didn't have any anxiety medication with me at work, so I suffered as long as I could before I left at 2 to take care of some personal stuff at home. I could barely breathe in the morning on the way to work. It got better by the time I left, but it still was bad. Today, I am arming myself with anxiety meds so if it happens again, I'll have them. I forget how bad my anxiety can get until I get a flare up and get almost incapacitated.
I also had kind of a bad eating day, my husband brings home slightly expired bags of single serving potato chips for his brother from his work. Well, they were in the back seat of my car and on my lunch break, I ate two bags. Then, on the way to pick up my husband, I ate another bag + a package of expired cookies that were in there too. I made him take them out of my car. They are only a temptation when I am in a vulnerable state (like now). I did not track well yesterday either.
@cbabie I've had that feeling before. Just make sure and weigh in on Saturday, don't let it snowball into weeks of no weighing in. I'm sorry you couldn't celebrate with your grandson last night. Hopefully you can do some celebrating this weekend.
@gemwolf110 so nice to hear from you! It sounds like things are going great. Wow, congrats!0 -
Morning all
I had a crazy busy day yesterday, but I got 6 hours of sleep...that was me falling asleep on the couch when I got home. LOL Today is another day and I am going to try to make it a good one. I did get my treadmill in yesterday, but not my 10K only got in 8170.
@gemwolf110 So good to hear from you. I am so glad work is a happy place for you, That is so much a part of our lives it needs to be a good place. We hope you will find the time to stop by and say hi. We miss you!!
@trooworld I am so sorry you had a bad day...anxiety is a horrible thing..I have a DD that suffers from that. Good job telling DH to get those out of your car. Sometimes my car feels like my home, so I only want water in there..LOL I hope your day gets better and things fall into place and you enjoy your day.
Okay gotta run, I am late again today. I got up and worked for a bit and now I will be pushing it to get there on time..Ugh

Morning everyone...my eating was terrible and I did not track. I am so stressed over several things, my job is very stressful right now. I made the decision to have a piece of my grandsons birthday cake..but you know I am still "aware" of my food and my exercise. I never want to have an attitude, I am what I am and I can't change...
I hope you all have a great Thursday!
Cbabie0 -
Hi all. I did so much better yesterday and the anxiety was better too. I had no chips. In fact, I had no snacks at all, which was kind of weird. I made salmon last night for dinner but unfortunately, I overcooked it. We still ate it, it just wasn't as good as it could have been.
@cbabie Oh I hope you get more sleep, sleep is so important! 8170 steps is pretty good, not 10K but really a lot better than most people do. I agree, work needs to be a good place. My day didn't get better that day, but yesterday was better. That's too bad about the cake, but at least you CHOSE to have it, on purpose, and you are aware of your choices. Can you get back to tracking one meal at a time? Or, maybe I'm misunderstanding and you aren't off tracking, you just had an off day?

Morning:
Wow I have to get back my control and purpose. I busted the zipper in 2 pants yesterday...that means to much is being crammed it little places..LOL I have not been able to cook this week, which means its been a grab and go..NOT GOOD...PB sandwiches, whatever was available. I have NOT been tracking..this week I have been going from 2:30 AM until about 9PM with no down time...I don't have to go anywhere tonight, so I will take this time to refocus on ME. I have to have rules. I can't be grey..just CANT.
@trooworld I am glad you are here or I would be that little old lady that talks to herself..LOL I do have to get back to tracking...it keeps me accountable to myself. That is the only way I have EVER lost weight. Well that and not eating for 3 weeks..can't do that again. I think I have put ALL weight back on I had lost. I feel miserable. I don't like salmon, but I know fish 2 x a week is better for you. I am so glad your anxiety was better. You are making some good choices. GREAT JOB
Okay gals I am going to finish my morning routine and make a good day of this.
Cbabie0 -
I did it, I made myself jump on the scale. I am not as bad as I was thinking. So I have a starting point to begin getting back to me again.
cbabie1 -
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Just lost a big long post.
I clicked Done and should have clicked Post Reply.
So waving hi to you all. My vacation is almost over and I can get back to a good plan.
Weather is cold here. It was "feels like" 30 at 10 am. Lots of rain and wind. I need to find an alternative to walking outside today.0 -
Hi all! I have a treat today, I get to meet my younger brother's girlfriend for the first time. My younger brother lives on the east coast and I never get to see him (or her). She is here on business without him, so we are going to meet up and take a trip to the Salton Sea, which is about 2 hours away. It's a weird place and she likes weird places, so I thought she would like it. It's a bit odd taking someone you don't know on a 2 hour car trip. I don't know if there will be awkward silence for 4 hours lol...but I have audiobooks downloaded in case it does get weird. I'm looking forward to it.
Did I tell you I switched my weigh in day to Fridays? Well, I gained 1.8 lbs yesterday! That didn't make me too happy. But it's probably from the 3 bags of single serving potato chips I ate on Tuesday's bad day...I need to flush that out of my system still.
@cbabie sounds like it's time to reign it in. What 3 steps can you take to do that? Tracking sounds like a good first step. I'm glad my anxiety is better, too. I'm glad you jumped on the scale and have a starting point. Now, make a plan!
@theslightedgeforever so good to see you! Sorry you lost your post. That's why I type mine in Notepad and copy and paste it into the little box. Oh that weather sounds awful. I'm sure you will be glad to get back to your routine.0 -
Good Morning
Another great weigh-in yesterday. Down 1 3/4. Very happy with that and the fact that this is very, very, consistent. Losing on average 1 1/2 per week for the last several weeks. Now if I can keep this going for another 9/10 weeks or so, I'll be at goal. Very excited and hopeful.
Beautiful weather here this weekend so its veggie garden planting FINALLY. Should be good for burning a few calories too. Was also a great day yesterday on the golf course. Was my first time out since November and normally we golf year round here. I know many of our American neighbours don't believe that, but in this part of Canada we can.
Have a good one!
Cheers, Carol0 -
Hi all! I had a blast yesterday with my brother's girlfriend and my husband. It actually took close to 3 hours to drive to the Salton Sea (which is not a place to go boating, or even swimming. It is a creepy, dead fish encrusted, smelly place) and then after that, we drove to Salvation Mountain. Salvation Mountain is a place out in the middle of nowhere in Niland, CA that was created in the 80s from adobe, straw and paint by an older man who has since died. It is a piece of folk art devoted to God's love. It's really cool. This picture doesn't do it justice, it's actually quite big.
For lunch, I had a seafood salad at my favorite restaurant. While on our travels, we stopped at this place that is renowned for their date shakes. It did not disappoint, I will dream about those date shakes! By the time we got home, it was 9:30pm and so we just made pizza for dinner. Not the healthiest choice, but definitely the easiest.
@gemwolf110 that sounds like a blast! I went to a Metallica concert back in the 80s/90s, I think it was the Monsters of Rock tour, it was so fun. Today is a new day (I'm telling myself that too).

Morning:
My head is spinning today. I have so many decisions to make and don't have an answer for any of them. I did however track every bite yesterday. Day 1, I am trying for Day 2. This week should be a little more slow. I hope so anyway. I was above my calorie goal, but tracking is the first step.
@trooworld I am so glad you had a good time with your DH and brothers girlfriend! Sounds like it was a full day. You made lots of memories, Thanks for the picture, see I don't have to travel, I can just let you guys travel and share. LOL I am for sure a home body.
Okay, this week, increase my exercise a bit, and track.
Cbabie0 -
Hello all! It was hot as heck around here yesterday. I got my grocery shopping done early in the morning and then spent some time with a friend that has left the area (as so many of my friends do). We went for a walk, caught up on what was going on in our lives, and survived the heat. DH made dinner (cheeseburger macaroni). By the time I got back from my walk, I was so exhausted from the heat that I didn't have energy to fold the laundry, so now I have to fold it on a weeknight which isn't fun.
@cbabie great job tracking! Day 1 done, on to day 2. Yes, definitely had fun and made memories. I don't travel much, but enjoy it when I do. Those sound like good goals, cbabie.

Hi all. I hope all the lurkers are doing well. I'm picking up my car (finally) today. They say it looks brand new. Last week was rough at work, and this week will be rough too...many people are out due to vacations and family emergencies. This means lots of extra work for those that are there but we'll make do. It adds stress to me, and that's why I made a mistake last week. I hate making mistakes at my job. I hope things will be back to normal next week.
@theslightedgeforever thank you for the highlights, I always enjoy them. I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Get lots of rest!0 -
Morning:
I tracked day #2, still not where I want to be calorie wise, but tracking. I didn't get my 10K steps in either. I just keep pressing towards the mark>>>>>>>>>>>
@trooworld I hate when I have to do my housework or laundry during the week. I am usually too tired, which is why I get on my treadmill in the mornings..LOL I am so proud of your consistency.
@theslightedgeforever I hope your trip goes well and you recoup very quickly. We miss you on this board.
Okay I am going to get my morning started.

Good Morning
Was a wonderful long weekend (Victoria Day in Canada) here. Beautiful weather finally so lots of outside time. Lots and lots of gardening/yard work Saturday and Sunday and then yesterday we took our kayaks to the lake to try them out for the first time. WONDERFUL!! Very excited for the next time. Over to our daughter's for dinner last night. Was delicious but a little heavy on the calories and SALT. Will need to do some major damage control for the rest of this week before weigh-in Friday. Have to really watch the calories and salt and ramp up the water and exercise. After so many weeks without a gain I sure don't want to break that cycle. I'm off to lunch and casino with my dear dear friend this afternoon. Will be a wonderful visit/time with her. I know I can control my lunch choices. Now if I can just be as successful with the slots.
Have a good one everyone.
Cheers, Carol0 -
Hi all! Well I finally got my car back and it looks great. It was an adjustment driving it after driving a much peppier car (I drive a Prius which doesn't have much get up and go, I was driving a newer Corolla rental which has more pickup). I have to remember where all the controls are lol. Hubby and I celebrated by going out to eat last night for fish and chips. Not the most healthy way to celebrate, but it was delicious. Now, back on track.
@cbabie Great job tracking! I hate the housework during the week too, and usually don't end up doing the housework, which is exactly what happened...I didn't fold the laundry! It is just in the laundry bags and will stay there until Saturday when I have more energy. Boo! I hate that. Thanks, I'm trying to be consistent. I've always had a problem with being consistent.
@theslightedgeforever I agree with cbabie, we miss you!0 -
trooworld Glad you got your car back. You can pretend it's brand new. I love fish and chips. How are you doing with your coach? What have you learned?
cbabie I was just watching a video and they were talking about planning. Saying this journey will suck if you don't plan. They said you don't have to be an uber planner if that doesn't fit into your lifestyle but be a practical planner. Pick 2 meals for breakfast lunch plus 2 desserts or if you are a salty snack kind of person 2 of those. Make sure they fit into your plan and just use them for the week. Rotate them however you want. If you have events in the week you can figure out how many calories, carbs, points you will allot and then fill in the rest of the meals. Before I left I was having success with knowing how many calories I wanted per each meal and snack and then finding items and I have them on a Trello card. Find out which meal you have the hardest time sticking to your plan and that is where you start. For you is it your dinner meal?
cmedwards Happy Victoria Day How did you do at the casino? Sounds like you have found a plan that works for you. That's half the battle. I've got major gardening to do. That's on my list for tomorrow.
Ok so back to my plan and losing weight. Tracking and exercise was good on vacation. Food not so much. But I did my review and put it on my Trello so I can look back at it next year and see how to improve. This year I tracked everyday. That's progress from last year.

Wow I am in a funk...I am so happy for you @theslightedgeforever & @trooworld . You are keeping on target. Me well as you said I have not plan...oh I have a plan, but I can't seem to stick to it once I get home. I know 2 things...it's emotional and depression, possible a little hormonal. I go to my OBGYN today and she is going to be all over me on the weight I have gained since last year... I haven't had my blood test done, to check my stats in over 2 years... I keep trying every day to make little changes and I guess the only improvement I can see is I at least see and recognize I am just grazing over emotions..so thats the postive.
@theslightedgeforever glad you are getting back into your normal routine.
@trooworld Happy Dance for getting your car back. I love fish and chips..
Okay, I have to go walk and pray..until later
Cbabie0 -
Hi all! Well here we are, Thursday (or as I like to call it, little Friday). I hope you all are having a good week. I'm having an okay week, not much going on. I have to work on Saturday (this happens about twice a year, just so happens it happens on Memorial Day weekend go figure). I do get overtime at least.
@theslightedgeforever hi welcome back! I'm doing really well with my coach. I did gain last week, which I think gave me a slightly "I don't care" attitude this week. I have been learning mindfulness techniques around food. For instance, there is a hunger scale and I try to only eat when I am at a hunger level of around 3-4 and only eat to 5-6. If I am eating outside of these ranges, I know something else is going on. Here is a list of the scale at the bottom of this page (this page talks about the scale, she developed it):
http://www.healthycellsmagazine.com/articles/how-to-use-the-hunger-and-fullness-scale
This is probably the most helpful thing we are working on right now. I'm also working on eating with no distractions (no tv, no phone, just concentrating on the food but this is easier said than done because my husband watches tv while eating).
Great job, tracking @theslightedgeforever!
@cbabie what small changes (2-3) can you make today that can you get you headed in the right direction?

Good Morning
Another beautiful day here in B.C.'s Fraser Valley. When its sunny here there really is no better place to be. Lots of gardening planned for this morning and then spending the afternoon with my favourite little people; Granddaughters 4,5 & 6 years old. Always exhausted by the time I take them home but its a very happy exhausted.
theslightedgeforever: I was actually quite lucky at the Casino. Came out with $40 to the good. Happy with that. Was lots of fun with my dear friend. We always go in with a set amount each and if we win, we share our winnings 50/50. A lot more fun that way.
cbabie: When I pre-track for the day I do much, much better. I try to do it each morning - planning my menus for the entire day. If I do it all in advance I can tweak the carbs/calories to fit.
Well I'm off to do a little light housekeeping, treadmill workout and some gardening before I pick my little ones up for an afternoon of play. Should sleep well tonight.
Enjoy your day ladies,
Carol0 -
cbabie So your plan once you get home is not the right plan for you, otherwise it would be easier to stick with. So you have to come up with a plan that will get you from where you are right now to where you want to be. Successful changes are not usually a big jump, but are a series of tweaks over time. So questions to think about.....if it's emotional, depression, hormonal, wouldn't You also have these during the day at work? Are you successful in the daytime because you have a strategy for your meals at work? ex. you have packed your lunch and snacks. If you had a healthy dinner waiting on you each night, would it be easier to stick to your plan or would you still eat junk?
trooworld When I looked up your link I saw quad cities IL/IA and thought yaaay I was just there. Nice hunger scale. I rarely get a 7-10 because I'm a grazer. But that's not good either.
cmedwards that sounds like a good day you had. Still haven't got to the garden yet. I'm more tired than usual. I said tomorrow now. lol
Speaking of which I'm headed to get some sleep.0 -
Hi all. I hope you all have wonderful plans for the weekend. I am working tomorrow (as I said) and then on Sunday, we are going over to my sister-in-law's house for a bbq/picnic. Other than that, just relaxing. I gained 0.9 lbs this week, I'm sure it's because I couldn't use the restroom this morning (TMI? Sorry...). Plus dinner last night was kind of salty. Oh well, next week will probably show a loss.
@cmedwards52 I do much better when I pre-track as well. I usually pre-track.
@theslightedgeforever no that's not good because you are not letting yourself get hungry probably, right? The scale is also in the book by Michelle May I am reading, "Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat: How to Break Your Eat-Repent-Repeat Cycle" which is very good.

Morning! I didn't make it on here yesterday and I totally binged. I am going to do this 7 day program, to try and get me back on track. I will check in here each day and be accountable to you and to myself. I went to the OBGYN and we discussed my weight gain and my age. So it's time for me to take the control back that I have given away and work on this. I appreciate all of your helpful comments. I am so happy to be on this board.
@trooworld I hope you enjoy your weekend, even though you have to work part of it. that book sounds interesting...although I have about 5 books all stacked up waiting for me to read them.
@theslightedgeforever You're right, I don't have a plan in place that works for me. I truly am black and white. I need to have boundaries and when I was on WW, I know I had 24 points...and if I went over it was dooms day for me...so I would eat what ever that would keep me there..since then I know more about clean eating and just because it's 1 point, doesn't mean its good for me. So I have been struggling to do this. I am determined to not let my emotions "eat" me. LOL
@cmedwards52 Hope you have a great holiday.
Cbabie0 -
Hi all! Well, I didn't sleep well last night because I'm so nervous about my work project that I have to do today. It's installing an exhibit case at our county fair and I usually do it with my officemate, but she's on vacation. She's an extreme perfectionist and I know she expects that level out of me even though she's not there. I'm kind of freaking myself out over here. I have help, but I don't trust the two people I have helping me to be perfectionists to her level. I don't even know if I trust myself to get to that level lol. I'll just have to do my best. I just don't want the two people I'm with to rush me, because then I'll make a mistake or drop something valuable. I can only do my best, right?
@cbabie what does this 7 day program entail? I'm happy you are on this board and look forward to you being here daily too!0
